I was given a hand written card thanking me for being an IHG member also which was a nice touch. We had a 2 queen room and the room looked modern, was clean, and the whole area was quiet. The room has a nice size mini fridge and a small microwave in it. They have a ton of pamphlets in the lobby for places to check out in the area. The included breakfast here is excellent! We spent 2 nights here so we had breakfast both mornings here. They have a pancake machine that pops out 2 fresh pancakes in a minute. They also have cereal, bagels, toast, their cinnamon rolls, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, juice, and hot options like eggs or egg omelets, bacon/sausage, etc. They were doing well in keeping everything stocked. They have coffee available in the lobby 24 hours also. I would absolutely stay here again the next time visiting Cooperstown.

It may be more expensive than all the local motor lodges, but you get so much more for your money. This chainis infamous for its all you can eat self-serve free breakfast buffet. Plenty of options. Perfectly located on a major road center to all the breweries, restaurants, farms, and of course Cooperstown & the Baseball Hall of Fame. Would only stay here again when in this area of NY

When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Bed was firm, bathrooms were spotless, extra pillows in the closet are sealed in plastic, bedding all super fresh. Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. Breakfast is 8am-9:30am & it is a nice offering: Oatmeal packets, cold cereals & milk Sausage & pepper frittata - custardy! Corn muffins (a must try!) Yogurts Fruit salad Heidelberg wheat, raisin & sunflower seed bread slices (& toaster) Coffee & tea station Orange, ruby grapefruit & cranberry juices Jams, butter, & condiments If you're coming to town & prefer a close stay to the sights here, & a smaller inn experience, this is the place to be! The inn has a selection of cycling-related accessories to purchase also.

Would definitely stay again as the price was more than fair. We were just there as a layover between Cooperstown and Saratoga. The town of Fort Plain seemed past it's prime so wouldn't go there as a destination, but A White Rose came up roses as a very relaxing place to stay between two points.

Back in July when I took a…read moreweek off to run a Tough Mudder in upstate NY we swung by Cooperstown for a few days as we were looking for a nice place to stay. Searching the internet I found Cobblescote on the Lake. It was just what I was looking for. An old school kind of place with character that represented the area. During our week's vacation we had stayed in a few modern chain hotels and were super pleased to find a place such as this that was the total opposite. Right on Lake Otsego in a picturesque setting among the woods. As we drove up both of us were blown away. This place was something out of a Norman Rockwell painting he did for the Saturday Evening Post back in the day. Pure Americana from a time that relects our grandparents era of when vacationing upstate and in the Catskills was a big thing. The building itself and the rustic decor reminds me of a hunting and fishing lodge. American flags, wood everywhere, log furniture, hunting/fishing instruments on the walls, checkers game on the table, all types of outdoorsy articles and sporting things placed around, an amazing view overlooking the lake, and the most wonderful outdoor deck to enjoy it on. We were greeted by the owner, Peter, and he gave us a quick tour of the place. There are spacious grounds with gas grills and picnic tables, a beach area for swimming, fishing, boating or just relaxing right on the lake. They also will provide fishing gear for guests. I saw a canoe, pedal boat and kayaks that can be used free of charge. You can even get boat tours and fishing charters here. There is a free laundry room on site which is great if you're there with kids and cleaning some clothes is a must. Also some foosball, pinball and other games to occupy some time. Every morning a full complimentary breakfast is provided to all guests. All the rooms are newly refurbished with private baths and Adirondack décor. Cable TV in all rooms and free wifi throughout. AC units in the rooms too, but it can actually get cool enough at night so that you don't need it. Plus, they are located just 4 miles from Cooperstown, 4 miles from the Glimmerglass Festival, and 9 miles from Cooperstown Dreams Park so everything is a quick drive. Reasonable room rates for all this make it a terrific deal. I have to say the rooms are well kept, clean, and very cozy. Peter is a very attentive and affable resort owner who cares about his guests and makes sure they have everything needed for a great stay. One of the highlights for me was just getting up early each morning to have a hot cup of coffee on the deck while watching the sunrise over the lake. So relaxing and peaceful. At night we sat out there under a blanket and drank wine. Another was the option of a home cooked meal here on a Saturday night on the deck prepared by Peter and his friendly staff. Shrimp cocktail, crab and corn chowder, char broiled delmonico steak, and dessert. Delicious meal. (Extra charge for this but so worth the price.) Oh, can't forget that yummy breakfast quiche and fresh fruits the next day before we had to sadly head home. Overall, just a wonderful place and one of the best spots we stayed at during our vacation. Great memories. If you're looking for a more simpler place to rest your head at that brings you back to a time when upstate resort vacations were big then you should experience Cobblescote. We can't wait to go back again. Thanks Peter!

A beautiful 15 minute drive to the ballpark and the most accommodating hosts ever! Great way to start each day. Plenty of amenities offered for couples or families: games, kayaks, paddle boat, bbq, fridge, microwave, laundry facility, to name just a few. Overall, this was a super pleasurable experience. Customer Service was exceptional! Staff was super accommodating and helpful! Local people were kind and courteous! We decide at the last minute to stay the night. Jim was so kind! I had originally asked to have one bed thinking...but once seeing the room decided to upgrade to a double bed. The room was large, two double beds, was clean. Decor is a little dated but is still charming and homey feeling! There is plenty of towels and blankets. We enjoyed the small seating area by the window to sit and reflect early morning to do reading. The only gripe which bumped the review down was our air conditioner is too small for the large room we had. Possibly could of be remedied if we turned it on prior to going in to Oneonta for dinner. We prefer our AC to be on high...it looked like the knobs have been taken off to prevent changing the settings. The next morning we decided it would be more convenient to have breakfast in the hotel. The breakfast was ABSOLUTELY amazing! We ordered the children's first. The two youngest had the mini pancake...which was not mini! The really enjoyed it! My oldest had French toast and sat and ate his whole meal with out saying a word! My husband had the Big O. He said it was seasoned perfectly! Jim was super accommodating. I asked if they had Gluten free options. He stated not anything specifically set to gluten free but his staff would make sure to meet my dietary needs. I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs! The homemade hash had huge chunks of corned beef complimented with some potatoes! Definitely the way hash should be made! This was such a great experience thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful stay!
