Every inch felt welcoming and comfortable for our family of four. The waterfall at the Stratton Falls campus was absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing. Falling asleep to the sound of the water from our deck made the experience feel truly special. Even with the cold weather, there were still plenty of activities to keep our family entertained. Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother's Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids' welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. This was our third stay here, and it somehow keeps getting better every time. We already cannot wait to come back again and bring even more of our family with us next time.

Our bagged breakfast was missing a few items we ordered. That really was not ideal, as we had a long drive ahead of us to the city. So we ended up having to stop to get a couple of things since what we planned on having was not there. Also, the wait for someone to be at check in was long. We went to the Stratton falls first accidentally. It's 2.5 miles from where our location was. Apparently, the guy at check in saw us and knew we were at the wrong property (they were full at that location) but didn't tell us when he saw us. (We didn't see him). When my son finally found someone (that guy) he said "I saw you when you came in and knew you went to the wrong place...". Ok.... So you just let us stand around for 12 min, before we went searching for you? He wouldn't even give us more than "it's down the road." Directions to the other place. That guy was an awful first impression. The lady at our location was lovely, but he made the initial feeling stick with me. So, customer service sucked because of him. I had friends that came to meet us from 30 min away and had to wait an additional 20 min thanks to that guy. Would I suggest it? If the service continues like it was... no. Fun themes though. I hear they moved to new ownership, so maybe that's what is going on.

We stayed in the suite which had its own private bathroom, a very comfortable queen-size bed, and chairs to watch TV; WiFi was also conveniently available. The next morning Melissa had prepared a delicious breakfast for us with fresh fruit cups, homemade scones, English muffins, jam, a homemade frittata, orange juice, tea and coffee! We were very pleased with our stay! Melissa is a wonderful hostess and proprietor of a Bed and Breakfast that we highly recommend !

I had forgotten to print tickets to Saratoga for the Whitney and she let us use her printer. Accommodations were both very comfortable and beautiful with an amazing bed frame made by the local Amish. The breakfast was delightful consisting of fresh peaches and cream, delicious blueberry pancakes and steaming hot coffee. Very homey feel to the living room. Would definitely stay again as the price was more than fair. We were just there as a layover between Cooperstown and Saratoga. The town of Fort Plain seemed past it's prime so wouldn't go there as a destination, but A White Rose came up roses as a very relaxing place to stay between two points.

My friend spent way too long in the attached office registering. Our room was dark and creepy, smelling of mold and mildew. You could hear guests through the thin wall and traffic. My male friend was afraid someone was opening our door! The toilet was so low I thought I had forgotten to raise the seat. There was a tacky old macramé hanging in the bathroom. The shower stall was so disgusting, please see photo. We passed. The bed went uphill, compromising my breathing. The pillows were cheap and too high. In the middle of the night, I switched them for two towels. The only thing we liked was the wakeup call from a nearby rooster, the only quaint thing about the place. We wished the person that chose this for us had seen the multitude of charming inns and even chains with vacancies all the way up to our destination of Cooperstown on a summer Saturday. Trying to check out was another endless quest. We texted the man, went to the office twice and finally left the key somewhere. We wanted a receipt. He had overcharged. We had booked a double bed and were given that and a twin we did not need as it was the only small non-smoking room. There were dirty ashtrays on tables outside the rooms. Just the sight of which makes me wretch. Even the feel of the bedspread was ultracheap. The AC did not fill the room on max. There were giant trees above a row of rooms, threatening to fall and kill the guests. Knock me down, please! This dump is a five-star disgrace and eyesore for this lovely area.

Utica Hampton Inn has lost that loving feeling…read more The Good: There was plenty of parking. There were enough towels in the room for a family of four. The Bad: We checked in on a Friday between 5-6 and the staff was not welcoming. They were just "going through the motions" and there was no joy in their work. When we made our way to the room, it was obviously well used and not as clean as we are used to when staying at a Hampton Inn. The carpet was "tired" and looked like it could use a good cleaning. There were smudges on the mirrors, paint peeling from the ceiling in the shower, and a giant cobweb hanging down over the sink in the bathroom. The ugly: Two of the bed pillows (out of 8) where very well loved and did not have any life/support left in them so we called the front desk to get them replaced. The agent we spoke with stated that they do not deliver to the room so we needed to come to the front desk to get replacement pillows. So when I took the pillows to the front desk, I genuinely felt that I was inconveniencing the staff. When I described why I was turning the pillows in, I watched as the staff member that I handed the pillows to openly mocked me as she described my concerns to a fellow staff member. When in Utica, I would avoid this location.
