Stayed here for the night on our way to the Finger Lakes. Overall we had a very nice stay. The hotel is nothing spectacular but they were very friendly and prompt at check in, and their COVID 19 measures were excellent...... my wife and I felt very comfortable that they were taking every precaution necessary. We did miss the complimentary breakfast but that was not their fault. They did offer a limited breakfast to go bag which we was a nice gesture. Most importantly they delivered on a very clean and quiet room.

Filthy filthy filthy and there are roaches and dried up bugs on the blinds. The girl was sooo nice and immediately told us to head over to the Home 2 which we did. The poor guy looked like he had 2 heads and said sorry we are sold out!!!! WHAT!?!? I immediately called this Hampton inn and they said oh so sorry there was a misunderstanding and said to go to the double tree. I said do they know we have our dog and she said i'm going to call them right now. What a crap show!! DISGUSTING!!!

So comfortable

Excellent stay at Hampton Inn, Utica. Was greeted immediately upon entrance. Front desk attendant was helpful and friendly. Check in was a breeze. Room was clean, comfortable and so spacious. Bed was comfortable and easy to catch up on your Zzz Breakfast was lovely, delicious and plentiful. Something for everyone. Two things that are super minor, one, entrance is not 100% clear. Hotel does share an entrance with Denny's parking area. Two, hotel only has 1 elevator. There are 3 floors on this property. Didn't have much trouble waiting for a elevator, still in the summer, I can't imagine the wait. Overall hotel staff was so friendly. Property it self was great with an indoor pool, fitness center and plenty of parking.

It's less than 5 minutes away from the I90 tollway with Subway, McDonald's, Wendy's fast food restaurants with Delmonico's and Babe's restaurants near by. New Hartford shopping center was about 13 minutes from this location. Check in 0300 PM and Check out 1100 AM. Both processes were kind of an nuisance because they could not find the payment information sent in prior to my arrival. Other than that, the process was quick, and you're given a water bottle upon check in. There is a snack area for purchase located next to the front counter. Chips, candy, ice cream, chocolate, and soda. Across from the snack area, the Holiday Inn provides complimentary cookies or cheese and crackers during the day. Complimentary breakfast is served daily from 0600-1000 AM. As soon as you enter on the left, there is milk, yogurt, and eggs. Next, various kinds of oatmeal and cereal. Then, there are sausage, bacon, biscuit, scrambled eggs, and cheese omelet for the hot foods. The carbohydrates consist of an English, blueberry, and chocolate muffins, wheat and white toasts. The pancake machine works intermittently, but it serves two palm sized pancakes per start button push. Lastly, the sweet goodies are cinnamon rolls with various strudels. Complimentary coffee is always available 24/7 on the other side of the breakfast food. Other amenities in this hotel are pool, computer room, laundry room, and gym. Computer room has free printing in color with two computers available for use. Laundry room is located on the third floor with $1.50 payment in quarters to use washer or dryer. $3.00 for both, which took 50 minutes to do laundry. I can't comment much about the pool and gym. Rooms were great in size. You can ask to change your rooms if you're not pleased with the room you're initially assigned to. Two queen sized beds with TV, mini refrigerator, microwave, and bathroom. Be sure to adjust the temperature dial in the top left back of the refrigerator. I wish they had kitchenettes but none of the hotels in Utica do. Housekeeping did a great job, and I hope they got my little treat I left them. 3 cons: 1-Door key cards would stop working, so I had to go downstairs and renew them every so often. If you have more than one card, then take all of the ones you have at the same time. Otherwise, the other cards you left in your room or wherever will not work because the one you took to renew will deactivate the others. 2-Thin doors or walls. I could hear children yelling and conversations. 3-Not having prior information that was faxed (aforementioned). Overall, the service was terrific with a kind staff. I would stay here again if I'm in town!

Okay, I'll be honest, I'm not into Victorian anything due to my somewhat minor fear of ghosts…read more(note: just so you know, as far as I know, there are no ghosts in this place!) However, I really loved staying here - comfy bed, clean bathroom with substantial towels and a great shower (although it took me some time to figure it out), endless bottles of water and fizzy flavored water, and homemade shortbread. I appreciated having a ceiling fan, which allowed me to not have to use the air conditioner. The best part, which everyone has raved about and I will too, is the breakfast. Yes, fluffy perfectly scrambled eggs, homemade chicken sausage, a different flavored bread pudding each day, scones, mini muffins and more. Eveything is cooked from scratch and you can tell - it's all so good. There was always enough coffee (really good) and I felt sufficiently full each morning, which sustained me for long days at a local conference I was attending. It's hard to believe that it's a bed and breakfast, as the amenties more than match those of high end hotels and add to it, there's the personal touch of the owners and staff. Even as an introvert, it was really nice to see some of the same guests at breakfast, as I stayed there for 3 nights, and be able to say "hello" and "good morning." Some things to be aware: This isn't a place for anyone who may not be able to climb somewhat steep and long stairs. Plenty of parking. The cost is so reasonable and even more so with the substantial breakfast and 24/7 beverages and snacks. Don't be put off by the city - it's worth exploring and investing in. I found a great coffee and lunch place called Whisk in downtown. Last, I had a facial massage on site, which was AMAZING. Worth every penny. BTW, there is a NYT article about Utica that was published today (6/4/22) about how the city may be revitalizing. It makes me want to visit again!

I had hotel tonight credit that needed to be used up, so I booked best western. I typically stay at…read moresome of the other, more upscale chains for work, so I had pretty low expectations for this visit. Bottom line, for the price we paid, we received the value we expected. Sure, you can find things to complain about, but when it's put into perspective, you shouldn't expect the same from a $87 room that you would expect from a $125 room down the street. Check-in went smoothly. The room was clean, no noticeable stains on the bed. There was a syrup packet in the bottom of the night stand and the plug was stuck in the shower drain, but not a deal breaker. There were also kids running in the hallway and yelling at 8:30am, but luckily we were already awake by then. Still a little annoying though. The free breakfast was a nice touch. Coffee with a bunch of different types of creamer (I love french vanilla coffee mate, so was happy they had that!). They had four types of cereal, waffle maker, yogurt, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, juices and assorted bread, bagels, donuts, muffins. Definitely more than I expected! One piece of advice, on Easter Sunday one of the women working was going crazy about one of the employees being late/not coming in. We were the only ones having breakfast around 9ish. She was practically yelling to some of her co-workers about this issue for a good 15 minutes. I found that extremely rude and unprofessional as we were trying to eat since we could hear everything. I suggest if you have an issue with an employee not coming in for a shift because they are working two jobs to keep that to yourself or a discussion with your co-workers behind doors. That's not the way I wanted to start my Easter Sunday. I hope next time before you loudly complain about someone, you think of who may be in earshot and who will hear. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again since I have gold status at a couple of other chains, but for others looking for a low-cost option, you get what you pay for here and it will give you a good place to rest your head and a nice breakfast to wake up to!

It was frightening as I was a woman alone and the door lock didn't work properly. I quickly got dressed (I didn't want him to hear me on the phone complaining as the walls a thin) and went to the front desk. The staff said they were booked and I couldn't be moved. They said they would look into the lock, which they didn't. When I returned to the hotel later that night I saw people checking in so I clearly could have been moved. It was late so I went to my room and worked to jam the door shut hurting my shoulder to get it to lock (which was then hard to open and is a fire hazard). I had turned the air off as it was cold and at around midnight I realized that there was a mouse or some animal scratching by the refrigerator in the room. I was SO tired and I had already been told they wouldn't move me so I tried to sleep and got up early to leave. When I went to check out I told the staff at the front desk who could see how upset this experience was for me and told me Jennifer, the manager, would call me that day or the following day. I have still not received a call from her. I called the hotel 4 days after my stay and got someone else who was not the manager who said they had seen my complaint and that they were going to call me but hadn't gotten around to it. The staff is completely unresponsive and uncaring. The hotel has no security and a rodent problem. Terrible.
