A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. There were a sufficient number of outlets for all the electronic charges, et cetera, the A/C worked fine, the TV had a digital cable package, it had a mini-fridge, and the bathroom was big enough to accommodate two people. The location was convenient - two blocks away from Main Street, so it was quiet, but only about an 8 minute walk into town, including the Hall of Fame (baseball, for all you coming to town for the opera). Three different churches are about five minutes away by walking, and there was sufficient parking at the Barnwell, even with a full house. Mark and Tara were outstanding hosts. Very personable, with good senses of humor. Attention to service was evident with all the "special" things done for breakfast for various guests (this reviewer included). Example: When the Keurig was broken a replacement was purchased within twelve hours. Yes, coffee is provided 24/7. Tara was an outstanding 'concierge' with recommendations of restaurants and the local area. Mark has an obvious passion for cooking, evidenced by the quality of the breakfasts (as well as the amount of food we had!). Anyone who will buy andouille sausage via mail order to ensure a good quality pays attention to the little details. Three days, three breakfasts, and nothing was repeated. I wasn't looking forward to the trip until I had my first contact, through Tara, with the Barnwell Inn. She and her husband Mark make you feel like welcome guests from your first inquiry about reservations until your final day at the Inn. They are a truly gracious couple! After we made reservations, Tara provided us with recommendations of things to do in the area as well as places for lunch and dinner. She also offered to make reservations for us. All of her suggestions were excellent. The Hall of Fame wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, although I didn't feel the need to visit for a second day. Tara recommended the Fennimore Art Museum, and I spent an enjoyable morning exploring there. The Inn is in a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood, and is only a few blocks from the HOF, shops and restaurants. Cooperstown is a great town for walking. One of the best parts of staying at the Barnwell Inn is the breakfast. It is presented beautifully, and the food is out-of-this-world good! Our stay at the Barnwell Inn was one of the best lodging experiences we've ever had. I'm even looking forward to a return trip to Cooperstown! There appear to be other lovely inns and b&b's in Cooperstown, but there is no need to look beyond the Barnwell Inn.

This B & B is located within walking distance to downtown - leave your car parked at the B & B. Street parking and lot parking is available. I parked on the street many times staying here and had no problem. There are three different bedrooms to rent with your own private bathroom in each room. Bedrooms have hardwood floor with floor rugs. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and Susan is a wonderful cook. I have always enjoyed her dishes. They provide you a front door key to enter the house after "closing" time, and you are also provided a key to your bedroom. This B & B is not handicap accessible - all bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs wrap around and are only wide enough for those who may need to use crutches or a cane. This is an old Victorian style home, decorated beautifully providing you a warm welcome during your stay in Cooperstown. I have stayed here twice, and I highly recommend the Main Street B & B.

We stayed in the Queen Anne room which was lovely, perfect for a couple celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Our private bath had double sinks which was nice. Our room, bathroom, and the entire bed and breakfast were extremely clean which is so important. Lastly, the breakfasts that Sue serves to her guests each morning are absolutely phenomenal!!! Reserved a week for Hall of Fame Induction weekend. The entire town is sold out or I wouldn't have even stayed one night. I was able to move on the 3rd night and willing to pay $223 per night more just to NOT stay here. Upon arrival we were hit by old musty odor at the front door. Upon arriving to our room the odor only continued. The 2nd floor is so slanted it's uncomfortable. The door to the room no longer latches by the handle, you have to deadbolt it to close it. The bathroom door has been shaved down to allow for the collapsing floor. It was late so I tried to sleep in spite of the offensive odor coming off the bed and pillows. The roar of every vehicle coming by wakes you from any sleep you might have gotten. In the morning looking forward to a shower was a big mistake. It's dangerously slippery to climb into and out of the make shift tub/shower. Only to come out of the shower to dry off with the aged towels that were provided and reaked of mildew. It feels as if this place is an abandoned house they rent out for the summer money. There was never any sign of an owner around. Breakfast which consisted of packaged danish, coffee/tea, and bananas/Apples/plums appeared in the morning, but you were never greeted or met anyone in person. I advised the owner when I returned home (since there were no signs of anyone on the property for 2 days) via email of the problems and requested a refund of only the extra money I spent at Best Western, (she still got an entire week paid for) but she refused. This was supposed to be a great weekend in a Bed and Breakfast on our first trip to Copperstown. Sadly disappointing to say the least. I found this place via http://www.cooperstownny.com/ which appears to just be a realtor listing various accomodations in Cooperstown. She is also aware of the problem but offered no resolution to me. I wouldn't use their site again either if they don't stand behind what they're offering.

Renters Beware! Our family booked for a week in August 2016 when our son played a baseball…read moretournament in Cooperstown. The house is not very nice. Some people might call it "old charm" or "rustic" but realistically the house needs a lot of TLC. It is true that the upstairs is slanted, the outside/inside is very dated, paint chipping, rotted wood trim etc. The house does have a strong musty smell which can be overwhelming. Back bedroom with the private entrance is VERY damp and musty. The de-humidifier they supply can't keep up with the amount of water in the air. I can honestly say we are not a picky family, (we don't stay at 5 star hotels or anything fancy like that) and we were pretty disappointed in the house. Also, we were very disappointed in the fact that we have yet to receive our security deposit from the owner. No damage was done to the property whatsoever, we even swept and cleaned before our departure and made sure we left everything as we found it. We followed all the rules while renting and did not complain once during our stay. We have called the realty company several times to try and recoup the security deposit and they give us every excuse in the book and still have not returned our security deposit money. Save yourself the trouble!
