She was the exact opposite of the definition of a "Karen." She was smiling, welcoming, genuinely excited to have us there, and just an absolute joy. Then there was the Long Island Iced Tea. After spending the entire morning at the baseball field and heading into the afternoon, YES, I needed one! Stephan made it, and I have to say, it was probably one of the best Long Island Iced Teas I've ever had. Phenomenal! So, if you're looking for a place in Cooperstown to grab a great meal, have a good drink, and get a little much-needed mental health time after baseball, this is your place! Almost no local beers available, no prices listed, no indication if a beer was available on draft or in cans/bottles. I was surprised that with a world class brewery right in their backyard (Ommegang) they only had one beer from them available, and it was a can pour. Prices are on the higher end as well. $15 for a plain hamburger with fries and $16 for plain Mac and cheese before you add any toppings. It was a decent dinner, but if we are ever in the area again we would probably seek out other options before coming back here.

At one point, I had to get up and find someone to talk to. I asked a man near the front for a manager, explained we had been waiting an hour, and pointed out our table. No one ever came over afterward to follow up. We were later told there was a large party, which is understandable--but that's not something customers or servers can control. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Instead, we were told we "should have said something," despite no one coming to the table. At the end, we waited again for the check, and when my daughter calmly tried to explain our frustration, the server spoke over her and said, "I'm almost 50--I've been doing this since I was 17," which came across as rude and unprofessional. The food was good, but the lack of communication, attentiveness, and management involvement made this a disappointing experience.

She kept everything organized, made sure the kids' food went in first, stayed on top of drinks and orders, and somehow managed to get all 30 of us taken care of and on our way in great time. The bartender was also incredibly nice and helpful, and together they kept everything running smoothly despite being short-staffed. The food did not disappoint either! The Reuben, burger, and Reuben burger were all fantastic, and of course the boys loved the wings and boneless wings. The bartender rolled her eyes and then made a very inappropriate gesture, pretending to put a gun in her mouth with her fingers, before walking over to us with a smile as if nothing had happened. My husband and I own a bar/restaurant ourselves, so we completely understand that everyone has bad or frustrating moments while working in this industry. But I felt like this was completely unacceptable behavior, especially right in front of customers. It's certainly not something we would accept from someone working in our establishment. We had our drinks and left shortly after. It's too bad because the tavern seemed like it could have been a really fun place to spend the night, but after witnessing that interaction, we were completely put off and didn't feel like staying.

And yet what you have here is delicately-calibrated sauces, food in which you can actually taste individual seasonings and savor their interactions, the way it's supposed to be! Samosas are fresh, crunchy crispy crust rather than the doughy glop for which we so frequently settle, and rice is perfectly fluffy. Lunch servings are just the right size - not the gargantuan american portions that let you know how dubious is the quality of the meat (margins can only be maintained on those stupid portion sizes by sacrificing quality). I won't say this place would get 5 stars in London or Chicago but it's well worth your time if you're in Cooperstown instead.

We love Jerry's Place. We were recently there with the grandchildren and had good food, great ice cream and they played their hearts out at the arcade. The staff is always accommodating and helpful, their menu diverse and the ice cream selections fit everyone's taste. I like the scallops but my wife likes their Cobb Salad and the kids love the hamburgers. As we are local, we sometimes just drive up for a quick ice cream waffle cone and always are pleased with the selections. Jerry's is a great place and we have been in the arcade with teams and never had any problems. The visitors have always been friendly and full of questions about Cooperstown. In summer, Jerry's is a friendly meeting place with good food and something for the kids to do. read more

Love Jerry's Place and am always sad when they close in Oct for the season. We're a tourist area and it's understandable when businesses can only operate seasonally. The food is always good and the ice cream is so yummy. I place many take out orders that are prepared in a timely matter and the staff provide excellent customer service. July 10th rocked this gem of a business off its foundation due to a baseball team being rude and destructive. This was a kids team whose parents condoned their bad behavior and displayed their own. Then to attack the owners more by giving them a one star review! These kids threw rocks at their home, this is vandalism. Shame on this baseball team, more so, the poor example of parenting one could display. read more

We eat here at least once a week all summer long. Love seeing this place grow from year to year. We always say Jerry's Place has the most dependable consistent food in town. It literally never disappoints. Always fresh food cooked the same each time and prompt friendly service! No matter how many people seem to fill the parking lot we always seem to get right in. It never feels to crowded with ample seating inside and outside. Not to mention the fun for all ages arcade, the outdoor activities, and playground outside. We listened to the advice of other reviewers and stopped here on our way out from our visit to Cooperstown. This place did not disappoint! The old fashioned decor attracted us to this place as well, but bottom line, the food was great and so was the ice cream! My husband had the cheeseburger and I had the Philly Steak sandwich. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked! The home made chips were crispy and yummy, and the onion rings were good too! What a perfect little place for lunch!! Lots of choices of ice cream here too. Amazing! We have been multiple times already this summer and I am sure we will be back a handful more before the summer is over. The staff is always super friendly and patient. The tables and restrooms are always clean. The food is always super fresh and tasty. We love getting the corn dogs for the kids, Philly cheesesteak and a burger for the adults. The ice cream is hands down the best in the area. The flying cow is a must try. When I told Jeff about my diet restrictions and why I could no longer eat there, he asked me specifics about what I couldn't eat or be exposed to and made me a safe meal. So we went around to the takeout window, which is NOT handicap accessible (steps only, no ramp), and stand on line to finally learn that the dinner would not be ready for at least 25 minutes (this was at 5:30 PM, not exactly an off hour for dinner service). Did they honestly expect my disabled husband to stand in the blazing summer sun for half an hour? (There were no seats available by the window). I knocked on the door of the dining room hoping we could at least sit down to wait, but they didn't even answer. We left, we will NEVER return, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know in this little town to stay away unless you actually want to be treated badly. I don't care if your food is cordon-bleu, no business should treat their customers with such disregard. I guess they think that, since they are the only restaurant in town that isn't a bar, it's okay to be rude and unaccommodating. We drove to Cobleskill and had a lovely meal at the Cowboy Taquieria on Main Street.
