The burgers are generous in size and very well prepared, and the milkshakes and ice cream were outstanding. A couple of things to keep in mind: while the quality of the food is high, the prices are also quite high, comparable to what you might expect in New York City. In addition, service is primarily counter-ordering rather than full table service. We had our team party here one night. The organization paid for the children and the parents ordered, paid and ate on their own and separately. Everything was excellent. Chili was very good. I got the mushroom, onion burger with Swiss and that was solid as well. Plenty of space and the players had a ball playing outside. The owner was excellent with the kids as well. Only thing, which is kind of my fault but also a double edged sword, is that add a tip to every order but then ask you to choose a tip amount as well. I would've never noticed but my receipt was texted to my older son and he noticed it and texted me saying..... You realize you double tipped, right? And sent me a picture. I stopped in here with my sons during a trip to the MLB HOF. The place has the coolest vibe with a bunch of retro lunch boxes, diecast cars and tin posters amongst the neat decor. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and onion rings. Thumbs up, good food and fast service. read more

With the retro diner feel and the good food, this place is a spot to stop at while on the road. It's not too far from Cooperstown Dreams Park. Saw a few teams dining here in the back room. Finished off some burgers and Hershey's ice cream before hitting the road. Service was good. The chef personally came out and asked to pin trade with my son who had his baseball pin collection from Cooperstown. My son got a pin that says "Jerry's Place". A real home run right outside of Cooperstown!Jerry's Place is a classic roadside restaurant, with great service, bright decor, delicious burgers, fries, grilled chicken sandwiches, sausage and peppers, and veggie burgers (hard to find in the menu) and the best Hershey's ice cream (which locals know isn't made by the chocolate company). I feel instantly happy whenever I drop by Jerry's. It's probably the lunch boxes bringing back childhood memories. I bet kids will remember visiting Jerry's always. I walked into this place after reading other reviews and after driving beyond civilization along with my wife and 1-year old daughter who are not white. We were glared at by the elderly patrons and completely ignored by the entire 10 person staff. There was no line. I'm sure they serve wonderfully tasty vanilla ice cream but I suggest you try any of the hundreds of competitors you'll drive past on your way here that aren't afraid of a little chocolate mixed in. read more

A local treasure, we've been bringing our kids here since they were little, and it's still a favorite. The place changed hands a while back, and we're happy to see some improvements while the decor and menu stayed unchanged - still classic burgers and fries, a great selection for kids, and ice cream and shakes to finish it off. One thing to note is most of the meals come with homemade chips or you can upgrade to fries for an up charge, I would recommend the homemade chips they were very good. This might be a place to go for ice cream, but would not recommend heading here for a meal. The standard side dish for food (burgers, fried seafood) is potato chips. Aren't chips a snack? If you want French fries or a little cup of coleslaw instead you will pay extra. No water offered to drink, even if you are sitting down for a meal. Would not recommend. read more

This is the coolest place. Stumbled upon it driving back home from a trip. Staff was inviting and served me at my table after I ordered at the counter. Within a few minutes I had a delicious cheeseburger with chips and had ice cream with peanut butter for dessert. Classic 50s diner atmosphere, it was awesome. Cowboy Burger was cooked with proper chatting but very juicy and wad adorned with delicious onion rings and ok BBQ sauce. Good bun stood up to sloppy insides. Other reviews rave about milkshakes. Coffee shake was subpar (little flavor) but chocolate shake was good. Locals go here in droves. Definitely worth a visit. read more

What a fun place! The decor is reminiscent of the 50's with Elvis, James Dean, and others; and, plenty of lunch boxes from "the day" cause those of us who remember to smile and enjoy. The food is fine, not special. It's great for fried food and burgers and the like. But, the main attraction for me is the ice cream. A delicious array of hard ice creams and soft serve as well...all types of sundaes and toppings. The gals that wait on the diners at the counter aren't as friendly as they could be, but they do their jobs and do them well. The prices are great...seating is "diner-like" but very ample...outside seating is available. A great option for a no frills supper or snack. read more

The only downside is that they're closed during the winter months, which are a lot by upstate NY standard. Everything was great! Burgers, curly fries and the staff is very nice. Ice cream is Hershey's and there are enough flavors that everyone can find something they like. The inside is full of nostalgia with tin lunch boxes, pictures and such. The back area has an arcade however due to covid they games are not there and instead the space has tables spread out for more spaced out seating. Would love to come back to see the arcade! Stopped here after a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Staff was super friendly. Loved the ambiance with the old school metal lunch boxes all over the place. Food was very good. I got the Carolina Burger, with pulled pork and probably the most authentic Carolina mustard based bbq sauce you'll find in upstate NY. Lots of different ice cream to choose from, with many gluten free options. A small arcade in the back is a nice touch. Very family friendly. This gem is a must visit if you're in the area. read more

As outsiders, we went there for lunch on a Tuesday. Not very busy. Decor is awesome. Old lunch boxes surrounded the restaurant, a giant Elvis, old posters with comic heroes. I got a Rueben sandwich and fries. The Rueben was a thick piece of corned beef, fried on a grill, loaded with kraut and thousand island dressing. Outstanding sandwich. My wife got a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Son got a burger with mushrooms and onions with tater tots. Overall 4 stars. When we were done eating, we treated ourselves with ice cream.
