For a little ice cream stop around town, it was no frills but got the job done. There are sundaes and waffle cones and toppings galore, but I just wanted a scoop of ice cream which was promptly delivered from the order window form the vestibule booth with some bench seating available on the sidewalk. The sea salt caramel coffee sounded like an interesting flavor, so I gave that a try. It was creamy and tasted very good. It hit the spot on a hot day. read more

Awful customer service. My 6 year old son walked out of the store dropped his ice cream I asked if they could replace since he didn't even get a bite of it and they said absolutely not. Had to pay for another ice cream. Ummm thanks for being so gracious. read more

Such a delight to get my ice cream here. They have a wide variety of options to choose from spanning from hard ice cream flavors to soft serve with options of shakes, floats, and sundaes. The service is always a delight as well. I come here so often I know some of the girls by their name. Claire and Isabel are always helpful when it comes to ordering, often giving great recommendations. No matter rain or shine, they're always open with a covered area to receive your ice cream. 10/10 Always recommend main street Ice Cream! read more

Main Street Ice Cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Cooperstown, New York

I just want to know how the girl who took our order can be so dumb. We ordered a raspberry truffle ice cream NACHOS, we never got the nachos only the ice cream. Then we told her she did nothing to fix it and all we got was "I didn't hear you about the nachos" and proceeded to greet the next customer. What a joke this place is. Stop hiring these stupid kids. Same thing happened at the pizzeria right across the street. Why is everyone in this town like this??? read more

I received the incorrect ice cream - peanut butter chip not peanut butter cup - although having shared I wanted the chocolate one. A young dark haired server refused to give us the correct one. My daughter cried with disappointment and there was no empathy. I proceeded to ask for a sample before purchasing the ice cream again to avoid any mistakes and she responded that they don't do samples. Really?! Her coldness was so stoic that we opted to leave. Shortly after, the 2 scoops fell right off the cone; looks like she didn't know how to scoop ice cream as well. read more

This place has recently been hit or miss. I'm a local, so I have been here a handful of times. I usually am greeted with excellent customer service (very very nice girls who work in there, maybe three different ones I can remember) and great delicious ice cream. However, my last visit has left me compelled to write a review. There was a very rude blonde girl working, who didn't speak one word to me until she got my simple order wrong and when I asked for what I ordered, she argued with me and wouldn't give me a new one. Very snooty and incredibly rude. I always love going to this place, but after this incident I'm not sure if I will be returning. read more

Horrible person works there. My son just finished the last bite of his ice cream and the staff, young dirtly blond wavy hair rudely told my son to leave because other people wants to sit (no other customers present). Horrible attitude!!! read more

Every summer we visit Cooperstown & this is our favorite Ice cream shop in town!! 1$ Italian ice?! You can't beat that price in such a tourist dependent town!! They have the cheapest prices of all the other shops. I personally (and have heard others agree) think they have the best ice cream in town as well!! We are always greeted with a smile, and a "how are you doing today." Wonderful customer service, and I even recognized the same few girls over the years! Definitely a must-stop-in ice cream shop! Can't wait for out next day trip to Cooperstown to get some Main Street Ice Cream! read more

Just saw a very rude teenage staff bruskly and gruffly make some customers get up from their outside table. We were standing right next to them. They were still eating their ice cream very peacefully. Never saw anything so ridiculous in my life. The staff said there were a lot of people waiting for the table. Meanwhile, there was no one there!!! Is their ice cream THAT good?!? I highly doubt it. Maybe the owner should be more careful when hiring, as this person should not be dealing with the public. Unprovoked and unfair! I would never eat at this place!! read more
