My wife and I along with our children have frequented Stadium Pub many, many times over decades! It's is in a class by itself if you're an avid Sports Fan regardless of your sport of interest! They must have 25 to 30 TV's of all sizes. The only place there aren't TV's is in the Bathroom (probably coming soon) The Food is very good one of our best "Pub Food" experiences ever! Prices are fair and Food Quality is excellent. Lots of beer choices both Draft and Bottles, Wine's, Cocktails, +++ Patty the Founder is committed to a Fun and Memorable Customer Experience! Employees stay for long term so they're Happy and it shows! Try it out and I'm confident you'll be like us and return many times. Enjoy read more

Stadium pub is a great place to enjoy some beverages and watch games. Plenty of TV's, friendly staff, good food. Our go-to sports bar.

Went for FIFA World Cup - Great place - great crowd - great team - Overall a great place to hang out and watch sports

I love this place!!! Wonderful service, wonderful (and affordable) food, and just a fun atmosphere! The crowd is typically an older sports fan type of crowd. I've only had sweet waitresses and Patty the owner is the best! She's so outgoing and friendly - she's like family! Would also like to commend Maria Megan and Missy for being so friendly and welcoming. I love it here. The Baja tacos are SO fresh and the Caesar salad is to DIE for. The mozzarella sticks are my guilty pleasure. Will definitely be a long term customer . PS - you need to try the dirty Shirley read more

Plastic cups instead of a glass for your beer? Nope. Not going back. That's unheard of, plus the $ refill situation for soft drinks & iced tea is ridiculous. Please. Who does this? The chicago hot dogs arrived stone cold. Not a visit I want to repeat. read more

Aaahhh... the Stadium Pub. You know... just your average pub that's always overcrowded with watered down drinks, sloppy drunks, and overwhelmed bartenders. It had been a while since I'd been to the pub and one night I decided to stop by to catch a Warrior's game. I had forgotten why I hadn't been there in so long and once I went, I was quickly reminded of why. When I walked in, the place was way overcrowded. I almost had to push through a few people to try to get to the bar. The bartenders were running around erratically and didn't even notice me waiving to get their attention. There were only 2 bartenders running the show for a room packed full of people. I looked around and saw that there were absolutely no seats available. Normally when I go out solo, I can at least snag a seat for just myself. However, this night proved to be different. I sat there waiting and tried to grab the attention of one of the bartenders. I almost left to go somewhere else when one of the bartenders finally acknowledged me and said that she would be with me in a moment. To my luck, the people that were sitting at the bar in front of me left. I quickly sat down and looked at the menu. While I glanced at the menu, I couldn't help but notice how gross the counters were. It was sticky and there were spilled drinks, wet napkins, and dirty dishes piling up everywhere. Ewww! I decided that I would move to a different section of the bar once another seat became available. I wanted something good and greasy and had my eyes on the reuben sandwich with fries. The bartender finally came back over and took my order. I ordered a vodka cranberry and the reuben with fries. One nice thing about this place is that the drinks and food are fairly cheap. But there's that good ol' saying that "You get what you pay for". Yep, that is exactly what I got. I received my vodka cranberry and it was watered down to the MAX, do you hear me? Very disappointing, but for $5 at this kind of bar... you get what you get. I spotted an open seat on the other side of the bar and told the bartender that I was moving to the other side. I saw down and waited for my food and for the Warrior's game to come on. I was surprised that they didn't have the pre-grame on the big screen, but I just assumed that they hadn't had enough time to go and change the channel. My reuben arrived and I took a bite. I bit into the sandwich and my teeth nearly fell off. This bread was so HARD! The meat was cold and while I love a lot of meat on my sandwich, I couldn't taste the cheese at ALL! I thought that maybe they had forgotten to put the cheese on it at first. The fries were nothing to rave about and came out luke warm. This was not the night that I was hoping for. To top it off, they were only showing the Warrior's game on ONE small television and I could barely see it because it was tilted at an angle on the other side of bar (sigh). I saw another patron ask the bartender if they could project the game on a big screen, but she said that they couldn't for whatever reason. What a bummer! A couple of drunks were seated next to me and the girl kept bumping into me the whole night.... So annoying. I finally ended up leaving at half time and just watched the rest of the game at home. I wouldn't recommend this place... there are so many other sports bars that are way better. read more

Service was great especially for being game day. $60 for two beers, two shots and wings is insane. Too expensive

Solid daily specials, and a massive number of TV's, it's no wonder that Stadium Pub is one of the most popular bars in Walnut Creek. Their decor would be best described as "divey sports bar," but don't let that keep you from coming in. Just think of Stadium as a no frills, no pretension option to grab a couple cocktails and take in a Warriors game. read more

Thought I'd add an update. Still love this place, but don't use the touch tunes jukebox. Waste of money. They always have the volume so low that you can't e eh hear it. I wasted a bunch of credits on it and the sound was completely off. Very annoying. read more

Bar service is lacking on big game days but regular days are fine. Food is pretty good for a pub. Cobb salad is delish.

Came back for lunch again. I didn't go with the Reuben like I said before. But I forgot about how much I wanted a Hot Dog until another person in our party ordered it. I went with the Tuna Melt. I'm still trying to lose weight and I figured this would counter my 3 Cosmos I had along with it. They did make a very good Cosmo. And the servers have always been the best. The food on the other hand is something left to be desired. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak again and I had a bite and it tasted like.......how do I explain this.....It tasted like how new drywall mud smells? If you have ever experience wet drywall mud you will know what I'm talking about. My Tuna Melt was good. It was a light fresh Tuna Melt, nothing that I couldn't have made at home. I think that the only reason I come here is because I get invited, and I don't pay, not because it was my choice. read more

** LOCAL HOMETOWN SPORTS BAR & RESTAURANT ... MINUS THE WINGS AND HOOTERS ( o )( o ) ** This was our lunch break spot during our Iron Horse bike ride. Thanks to Yelp Mobile we found this local hometown sports pub. Our waitress was super friendly and allowed us to park our bikes next to the outdoor patio. Two stars four bringing out our beers super fast and chit chatting with us. Since it was early, we were the first people to get seated and placed our orders right away. Minus three stars because the salmon burger was awful - the salmon was mashed up with different herbs and spices into a patty then deep fried or slapped on the griddle. This thing was totally dry and hella bland. Screw it... I'm super hungry so I killed it anyway by soaking it in ketchup. I was with my boys so I animal styled that thing. More points on the home cut fries. Don't get the seasoned fries because it was super salty and these guys dumped hella spices all over it. Just ask for plain French fries. As for the amenities, this is ideal for the "after-work-catch-the-game or playoffs sports bar". I could totally see me and my crew hanging out here. Two stars for now. Btw... the bathroom was hella nasty. Clean that sh*t up! Will Go Back: Yes, if I'm in the area. The Philly Cheese Steak looked so good. Romantic: Uh... No. Unless she's totally into sports and beer. Parking: You're screwed. Street parking only. read more

This is the place to be on Tuesdays. Because not only are Tipsy Tuesdays best spent with me and my fellow WC-scum they are best spent partaking in $2 PBR and Sapporo's along with $2 Ribs w/French fries and $2 Tacos. Mmmm. Going there after work today ... This is a place where you will find guys in 3 piece suits along side guys still trying to get the grease off their hands from working on cars all day. There are about a million TV's and I hear they have pool and billiards along with video games in the back ( if you know me I never get past the bar) .. It gets crowded on the weekend nights and right after work on some days its hard to find a seat near the bar. It's a pretty great place all in all. The theme as of most places is in fact "sports" so the games are always on, oh and they let me watch the Kings there without too much grief, that's nice. read more

*enters bar and is promptly handed a menu* Me: "Can I get a Long Island?" Waitress: "We don't 'do' those." Me: *In my head*: (("Lady - if you had any clue what my day has been like, you'd f*cking manifest a Long Island")) *What I actually said* "Oh, ok a glass of cab sauv then please." Thus the negative one star. I know you have the ingredients to make one Pub - you handed me a menu full of spirits to prove it. What's the deal? With that said, this place is really cool! It has a lot of nooks and crannies. So, if you don't feel like being submerged into the main crowd of sports fans, there are plenty of places to huddle and have a chat with friends. There are TV's and big screens everywhere. I've never been in a place with so many. I was able to watch the NBA play-offs and follow two baseball games, without turning my head. Their fries are In & Outish - but thicker and longer and well, who doesn't want that? :D Aside from our rough beginning, the hoodie wearing waitress was very nice and diligent. The drinks pretty much hover around $5, which is great. I used the restroom and there were a pile of referee costumes on the floor under the sink. I have no idea what that's about. I scouted the distance to BART. Considering I'm a runner, I'm actually really looking forward to a couple of long nights at the Pub - followed by a "sober up" walk & ride home via Bart. I think this place will rock on a UFC night. read more

I'd give negative stars if I could. My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night, and there was hardly a crowd in there, yet for some reason our server came with a huge side of attitude. Before even serving us, she made sure to let us know they were closing in a half hour, which was fine, enough for one round right? She then proceeded to card us, fine again, but when my out of state buddy handed her an Oregon ID she replied "I don't think I'll be able to accept this." We all looked at each other in amazement of what a BIATCH she was being and said fuck this we're outta here. I've NEVER been treated so rudely before at any establishment in Walnut Creek, especially for no good reason! read more

If you're looking for a sports bar in Walnut Creek, The Stadium Pub is pretty much the only game in town. It's got lots of TV's...I counted 27, though I might have missed a few. Two baseball games, a golf tournament, a dog-jumping competition and a paintball-war championship were scattered amongst the CRTs during my last Sunday afternoon visit. A spacious layout stretches clear out to North Main Street where a small patio overlooks the sidewalk. And typical of any sports bar, the walls are evenly covered with an unbroken layer of sports memorabilia and beer advertising. The only patch of uncovered sheet-rock in the place is a hand-painted mural on the East wall that features Chicago Cubs players and pre-dates my residence in Walnut Creek some 10 years ago. The clientele that hangs here is easily the most mature crowd I'd ever seen in a sports bar. Mean age is around 40, with a standard deviation of about 10. Walnut Creek is NOT a friendly culture...and the crowd at the Stadium is no exception. People tend to arrive in groups and sit at tables. Couples and loners sit at the bar. Little interaction takes place between tables, and sparking up conversation with other lone drinkers is usually an exercise in futility. If you plan to hang out here, show up with a group of people or be ready to drink alone. Men outnumber women 15 to 1, and the sparse supply of ladies in the crowd are usually with husbands or boyfriends. I've seen only a few single women come here by themselves. They're generally middle aged, very intelligent, fairly attractive, and not the least bit interested in sports or whatever dating prospects the bar's male clientele could offer. To the contrary, they're actively pursuing sales leads for Real Estate listings or Mortgage underwriting. Whenever one's came within earshot, I've eavesdropped...there's a quick into and a batting of the eyelashes, after which the conversation is steered to business. Food is available on-premises, and the house specialty is hot dogs. Not ordinary hot dogs, but REAL, Chicago style hot dogs. Last time I checked, the owner had them shipped in from his favorite supplier in Illinois. The menu has much more than hot dogs...though a hot dog is all I've ever eaten here. Walnut Creek has undergone drastic change, and The Stadium Pub has rolled with the punches. While it's spirit of ten years ago isn't completely intact, it still remains the last bastion of beer, ball-games, and hot-dogs in a downtown area that long since lost it's soul to a collection of trendy cafes, high-dollar bistros, and upscale boutiques. Despite a somewhat icy crowd, the beer selection is better than average, A TV is visible from every seat in the house, and the kitchen puts out a hot dog like no other. It's nothing worth making trip across the bay for...but if you're ever in Contra Costa County and looking for a place to watch a game, it's your best option unless you're up for hopping on BART and heading across the Bay... read more

Came here last night with a friend. It was our first time here so we didn't expect much. We saw the menu that was outside, saw something we liked and decided to go in. Mind you it was around 8:15pm. We walked in and the place was loud with several people. If your not a fan of the sports scene this place isn't for you. The waiter asked us what we would like to drink. We ordered beer which came rather quickly. I asked if they were serving food and she said no they stop serving food at 8pm. Which such a bummer. None the less, we enjoyed our drinks and head off. Not sure if I will be back to this place again. The scene and vibe weren't me. read more

A friend planned her going away get together here. I was looking forward to checking out a new spot in Walnut Creek until I received a text from my friend that read, "we're way in the back and it's packed...football game". Ugh. I'm not a fan of sports fans. My experience with sports fans is that they love yelling. That is fine while attending a live game but what happened to using our inside voices? Luckily, the fans here were very well behaved and we were soon able to take over tables around us as people left. I like the tall tables here that provide a great place for a group gathering, whether sports related or otherwise. I didn't have any of the food here but I did have a couple drinks. They have a decent beer selection. The drinks are reasonably priced. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and forgot our drink orders a few times. At least one of those times, the bartender provided my honey with a free beer. I'm keeping them at three stars because, even though this place isn't exactly my style, it is okay for what it is. read more

Met some friends here for a small get together on a Friday night.....What an incredibly painful experience that was... Pros: They have several TV's that are covering several sports, If you like crappy bar food (Fried cheese sticks, Onion Rings, Fries and else fried) and anything else fried, you can get it here. Lots of beer choices Cons: Crappy Bar food, does not even qualify for pub food Crappy service...there are waitresses there but you don't see them much, if you want a drink, you must order it on your own. Bathrooms are unisex and GROSS!!! VERY LOUD....don't plan on talking to the person next to you because it is basically hopeless. Some people like this type of atmosphere, I am not one of them and neither were my friends. We found that we got better service, cleaner bathroom and better beer when we left and went to one of their homes... read more

I've only been to stadium pub once, I used to work across the street from them. One day after work we killed some time at Stadium Pub, they had Guinness on tap, and we ordered a awesome plate of chili cheese fries. My memory of this place is sitting on an outside patio area, really really nice day, drinking Guinness with my friend Dave, and eating chili cheese fries, it was perfect. Later on our boss came by and took care of the tab, which made it even more perfect. I'm sure this place fills up quick, they have a great location in Walnut Creek. I like Stadium Pub strictly for the atmosphere - not so much the food. I love that I can come here and watch every sports game on at the same time. but the food I have had is sub par. My neighbor really likes the $2 tacos but their options are fish, shrimp or beef and since I'm allergic to anything that leaves me one option and if I'm not in the mood for red meat, then no option. They should really have a chicken or pork option as well. I got the Chicago Dog and tried it since I was told they have it. it's alright. I'm from Illinois and have definitely had a Chicago dog and wasn't impressed. They even forgot the peppers (best part) on it but the waitress was really nice to bring me some. The waitress was slammed as there were two playoffs games (NBA and NHL) and Giants and A's games on all at the same time but she did really well and was very friendly. I recommend this place if you just want some appetizers, a drink and watch multiple games. read more

I give these guys this rating very sadly! I lived up the street for many years. Before wife and kids. Used to frequent the old "Original Hot Dog Place". I like the Hot Dogs, Fries, and Henry Weinhard's Root Beer in a bottle. Good quick lunch, alone, and when you need a quiet hole in the wall on a week day. Looks like a good bar when there's a crowd. Made a "once-monthly" trip in this last week, and my hot dog was barely warm. Not hard to get this one right, and I am not one to complain ... especially someplace I frequent. I like these guys...I hope someone inside is reading these review...and talking to the kitchen! read more

Great location, great staff, a great place to watch the UFC fights and other sporting events.

I don't really like bars, especially the ones in Walnut Creek, but I've been here a few times. It's alright; it's one of the better bars in downtown Walnut Creek. The best part? The $2 pints on Tuesdays! I think they have $2 pints (of decent beer) until the keg's tapped. I've been here a few times on a Tuesday after Pub Trivia next door at Pyramid's and it was always fun. It gets pretty crowded, and the people get ridiculous! My friend, who's a notorious ridiculous drunk, was buying beers for a homeless guy at the bar who eventually had to try to ditch him! Yelp has also just informed me that' there's also $2 food items (tacos and ribs) and also $2 margaritas! More reasons to check this place out on Tuesdays. I like the little outdoor patio too. I probably wouldn't come here just because, but I wouldn't mind coming here with friends on a Tuesday again. read more

Yesterday I emailed the pub to ask if I could take my 13 year old to the world cup game. I got a response within an hour or so! The owner, Patty, responded and let me know that my son was welcomed! I read some of the previous reviews, I think its important to remember that the beauty of a sports bar is watching sports games. For example, Stadium Pub exceeded my expectations by simply opening before 7am for World Cup fans. The ONLY bar in the area open for this game to my knowledge. Our server was fun and funny! It was busy, and she and the other servers made sure to keep the coffee flowing while serving their stations! I will be back and I hope that people will keep things in perspective in terms of expectations. I wanted to watch a game, I got much more than that! We will be back!! read more

Stadium is a rarity in downtown Walnut Creek... First because it's a sport bar in an area where there just aren't that many. Second because it's one of the few places that just really is not service oriented and lastly because it's relatively cheap in an area where everything is over-priced. Service: There are a few very kind waitresses here but they're drastically overshadowed by the really awful ones. Most are too busy socializing or drinking at the bar get your order correct or get your next drink. Like I said great customer service isn't a staple here. Food: So far we've really liked everything, chicken strips were good, sandwiches good, no complaints! They also have a few $3 items, can't beat that. Drinks: We usually keep it simple with some on tap domestics. $5 per pint. Served cold. Sports: This is a great spot to be when you want to watch the game but you don't really care about the outcome. They have tons of TVs and projector screens, some are easier to see and better quality than others, sound is hit or miss.. but mostly a miss, so don't expect to hear that game. Overall: I'm not unhappy with Stadium, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but it's a decent, affordable spot to go with friends and have a good time while the games on. read more

Would NOT recommend coming to this dumpster bin disguised as a sports bar. The smell of mold sits in the air like pollen in the spring. This shack is NOT CLEAN, or maintained and the service... SOMEHOW is even worse than the cleanliness... absolutely abysmal. If I was a betting man, (which I am), I'd bet the chicken strips and French Fries I was served were sitting in frozen section of Costco last week, microwaved and then presented to me. I am honestly debating heading to the ER for a CT scan to make sure I don't have a stomach full of rubber right now. Why did it take me three years of legal drinking age to discover this gem? Growing up, I had always heard about the Walnut Creek "bar scene". Sadly, I moved to Southern California when I was 18 and never really got to experience it...until now! My buddy suggested that we catch the Warriors game at Stadium Pub. I recently visited Crogan's and The Pyramid, so I wanted to expand my repertoire. I was impressed with this location as soon as I walked in. It was lively, but not uncomfortably packed. It was clean and didn't smell like urine (don't take this for granted). There were a number of tables and booths available for seating. We grabbed a seat at a high table and were immediately greeted by our server. She brought us a couple drink menus and asked if we had any questions. We both started with Guinness, but were impressed with the multitude of options (see the link below). http://thestadiumpub.com/our-drink-menu I quickly realized that this is an excellent venue to watch sports. This place has 47 TV's and 3 big screen projectors! It's almost impossible to have a bad view of the game. The staff was friendly in accommodating our request to put the Warriors game on the television directly in front of us. The drinks are very reasonably priced. We ordered 2 Guinness, 1 Newcastle, and 1 Blue Moon for a total of $19. Four drinks for under $20? I'll take it. Although the service was largely satisfactory, I'm still subtracting a point in this area. Our server brought me the wrong beer after I ordered the Guinness and remarked, "Oh, f*ck I knew it wasn't that. I totally wasn't paying attention." I bet this happens a lot in the service industry, but damn, don't admit it! Honesty is not ALWAYS the best policy. I'll be back to watch another game. read more
