I asked for the check and practicaly had to stand over our waitress to get it... the other waitress was busting her hump trying to make up for the other one ... oh yeah.. taco Tuesday sucks too.. $2 for a small piece of heavily caked and fried fish inside a cold flat uncooked taco shell.. bleh.. why do people still come here? right.. theyre bar flies.. so if you could care less about sports then skip this place.. I think this is the perfect place in Walnut Creek (or any city around it) to catch any game with friends and enjoy some cold ones. Stadium Pub is very roomy, lots of space and tables unlike your average pub that's just a narrow straight line down the bar leading to a pool table wreaking of stale, spilled beer. Taco Tuesdays is a pretty sweet deal. Beef, shrimp, or fish tacos are $2 each and there's a buffet of condiments you can go to town on. Side note: the seafood tacos are fresh. The food there is pretty good and prices are fair. Only thing I'd advise to stay away from is the foot long hot dog because it's more like 8 inches and no matter what you say to the waitresses they won't do anything to compensate. This is where the place hurts. The waiting staff aren't always aware. Getting a drink on a busy night (like UFC fights) from one of these girls might be easier if you had air traffic control wands beaming in your hands to waive them down, otherwise, they'll be walking passed you constantly and if you watch them it's not 100% of the time because they're busy. Bottom line: grab some cold drinks and take advantage of Taco Tuesdays. Food was decent. I got a street hot dog and shared a philly cheesesteak and onion rings with my buddy. The philly and onion rings were pretty greasy, but the hot dog was really good. What saves this place is the crazy amount of TVs and the atmosphere. I came here on Saturday to watch college football (go UCLA bruins). There were fans from so many different schools and there was pretty much cheering going on every 10 seconds. The 4 stars is for the experience and not the food. Multiple TVs surround you so almost every seat can see the game they want clearly. The wait staff comes by frequently, mostly to ensure your libations are working and any chance you want to order something you can. The food is good, the fries could be cooked more, but there's nothing to complain about. My only grievance is that their menu reads, "Philly Cheesesteak, so good you'll think you're at Gino's or Pats!" as they name a bunch of ingredients that don't exist at either establishment (to my knowledge) but actually do exist in Italian Beefs. The funny thing is, I came here a few months before, and they had an Italian Beef. Craving my Chicago experience I got it, and thought it was a pretty good try. It was a good sandwich, but not close to the real deal. Now I return and the Italian Beef is not on the menu. So I get the Philly Cheesesteak, dreaming of Gino's and Pat's (I'm Gino's all the way though), and it actually looks exactly like an Italian Beef. Tastes like it too. So it seems they took an Italian Beef and renamed it on the menu, but didn't change the recipe. They just called it a Philly Cheesesteak and told people they would think they are in Philly, perhaps assuming everyone in San Jose wouldn't notice? Hmmm. Maybe it's a menu thing, a restaurant thing, and I'm not really hating. I mean, it was a really good sandwich, and I finished it both times. I loved it actually. Came here to watch the Niner's playoff and we were told that the dogs were good. I liked that the original dog comes with fresh tomato, onions and relish, but I am still a Top Dog fan. The Zuchinni 'sticks' are actually little round disks that are fried and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese...sooo good! Garlic fries, meh. Went to Stadium Pub for my first time and it was a cool experience. We started off with $2 happy hour Modelo Especial, margaritas, and I believe a Lagunitas. The place was definitely casual and sports on all TVs. I we t around 530 on a week day and the cliental seemed to be of the 30-40 crowd after work. We ordered buffalo wings, cheese sticks, and fried zucchini. The wings were good but not true. Buffalo wings. It like they did bbq sauce first and then buffalo sauce. Maybe it's what they are going for. If that's the case, call them Stadium Pub wings or something because they are not buffalo wings. Now the zucchini was awesome. Nice long shards of parmesan cheese coated the top of these fried pieces. A definite must have. Cheese sticks are, well, just that...cheese sticks. They real winner here was the Chicken cheese steak. Obviously there is no steak in this but it was in the style of one. Personally, I love when the onions and peppers still have a little crunch to them and this delivered. The taste was unreal and I must say my mouth is watering now a week later as I write this. Not sure if I want to stay for a full 3-hour game on a Sunday/Monday/Thursday night, but the place has a good vibe to it if you don't mind the crowds for a while. And it will be crowded there, it usually is. 20+ draft beers and 40+ flat screens of all shapes and sizes surround the bar, though the projection screens flicker on and off periodically. Servers are friendly but getting their attention during game nights can be a challenge. $3 for a dog and $6 and up for a sandwich is quite reasonable, but fries and other sides are a la carte and don't automatically come with them. One of the worst establishments I've been to. I came out on my Birthday with my Fiance and we walked in and found a table. I went to the bar, and waited for 45 minutes without an acknowledgment. The Bar Backs told me that they couldn't serve drinks, yet they were serving drinks to everyone around me. After an hour of waiting, a women (Caucasian) came up to the bar and ordered a large order of drinks for her party. In disbelief, I asked the "Bar Back" if I could speak to the Manager. The Manager then proceeded to ignore my Fiance and I as we waited. Not only were we ignored, but the manager argued with me about my experience at their establishment. Upon entering no one checked our vaccination card. I asked our waitress if she wanted to see it and she haphazardly looked at it. I gave her my booster card which wasn't a completed card so I know she didn't look carefully. Never did I see anyone ask new arrivals for their vax status. On top of that the TV's kept going out. We entered and sat in the front area but after 5-7 minutes my boyfriend got up to go directly to the bar since it was evident there were no servers frequently coming around. There was one person ordering in front of him so he politely waited, all the while the (white) bartenders acknowledged him and made eye contact but made no move to serve him. We walked in about 5:45 ish and saw a slew of people (creekers)! We saw and empty table at the bar, grabbed it quick and we couldn't wait to order. I was actually really excited since I had read on YELP that this was a divey spot (not really). Twiddle Dee comes over take our drink order and asks for our ID's. We get out our ID's as usual and then she gives all of them back except for one, a Permanent Resident Card. She looks at our group and at the individual and says I can't take this! WTF like serious WTF???? I immediately step in before everyone and say ME: WHY? Twiddle Dee: Because we do not accept Passports or this ID card because they are not valid per our owner, and besides I've never seen this kinda ID. ME: What are you talking about it is a government issued ID she has never had this problem before? That's insane are you sure, can make sure with your manager. Twiddle Dee walks over to Twiddle Dumb and then I walk over there pissed as hell, and this ignorant Twiddle Dumb bar manager turns to me and says: "Sorry I can't take this because it's not a United States ID!!!! Me: Are you fucken kidding me? This is issued by the US. Twiddle Dumb walks away, to go tend to all the US Citizens. Then Twiddle Dee follows me closely back to the table as I tell the owner of the ID that the bitch said no. She was so up my ass she should have asked for a fucken piggy back, then this Twiddle Dee makes it all worse by saying: Sorry it's just our policy, ya know since the owner got fined its like they are super strict and umm ya so like we aren't as lenient as chain restaurants, and ya we always tell people from out of the country that they can't drink here, because we don't accept Passports either. It's like we only accept the real valid ID's. Like ABC even states we cant take those so sorry. So ya you might wanna try like PF Changs or something because I don't think they will care. So are you guys all going to stay or no? WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to reach deep inside her throat and grab her little fucken annoying (OMG SALLY) voice box and throw it at her ignorant face!!! Friendly staff and more big screen TVs than an electronics store are the hallmarks of this pub. The list of draught beers is impressively long too. My Italian beef sandwich was mediocre though - the meat was low grade and lacked flavor, even when dipped in the accompanying jus. It was basically a Philly cheesesteak without the peppers and cheese and onions. Given that folks there kept saying their menu was generally excellent, I'd give it another try if I happen to be there, but it's not a destination in and of itself. However, they DO host watch parties for the University of Oregon Ducks, so that could draw me out. read more

Believe it or not this October is Giant's October. The Stadium Pub has a strong following for the Giants and this is the place to be in the Walnut Creek area. When my baseball friend and I came to visit is was packed to the gills. Standing Room Only. Over 10 flat screen to watch the Giants or watch NFL football on Sundays. The bartenders, those cuties (female lovely bartenders) were pouring mixed drinks, shots and all of the favorite beers all night long. Large selection of beers on tap and light beers for those watching the waist line. I saw alot of people ordering Coors light. Typical bar food menu but they have an extensive selection of hot dogs (their claim to fame). Tuesday nights the Stadium Pub offers taco and shrimp specials. Given yes, it was a busy Saturday night...but something was of when the same waitress/server in our area served 2 OTHER tables that came AFTER my boyfriend and I and served them instead of even taking our order. And yes, although I rarely ever want to pull the race card I can confidently say that I was a minority there and so I naturally thought maybe my bf should order and get the chick's attention 'cuz he's white. Well, that didnt' work and after the second time she ignored him and served other patrons he just looked at me and said, "yeah, I'm ready to leave this place and go somewhere that will actually serve us"... So...we did. And mind you, we were right next to the bar and if I stared at the bartenders any longer they would've thought I was a lesbian chick hitting on them. So...needless to say we won't ever come back here. I really wanted to like this place...it felt more like a sports bar than a "pub" and the whole frat boy scene was there that night which wasn't appealing either... We left to go a couple blocks down the street to McCovey's which should've been more packed we thought since it was more sports bar like than the pub. This place has a great atmosphere for sporting events. There are a lot of TVS with even a projector in the back. Lots of alcohol to choose from with a lot on tap. Well, it was just after 5 on a friday and out of no where a craving a for a beer came upon me. Well, today was the day and the timing was right. This looks like your typical sporty, Irish pub like bar, which appears to be pretty partied out if you know what I mean. However, exterior was not my main concern but a nice cool refreshing beer was.They have a great selection of beers to choose from and a pretty decent lunch menu as welll. We were seated promptly and given some menus. Our hunger pains were not errupting yet so, we just stuck with some beers this visit. I ordered some dark Irish beer that had an unusally long name that I can't recall though, it tasted fantac! The place seemed to appear a little dirty after sitting for awhile and the service was not as prompt as I would like. Walnut Creek is seeing Restaurants disappear, and this one probably should be one of them - Either that or it needs to be redone. I REALLY want want to like Stadium Pub - I DO! But I have had so many crappy meals there, I have to speak up. First, it is obviously poorly run. The servers are always overworked, and are quite rude because of it. I once waited for a menu for over 25 minutes then, when trying to get a menu from our waitress, told me she had to get some other people menus first. WHO doesn't have enough menus? Because the servers are overworked, we all suffer. The last time I went there was the Friday night before the Giants clinched and the genius manger decided to staff it with a bartender, two servers and a cook. It makes it hard to be mad at the servers. And because they are so backed up, I am still waiting for my first hot meal at Stadium Pub. The fries taste good, but I wouldn't know what they taste like hot. And then there is the food, The burger? Mediocre at best. Club Sandwich? At least its pretty plain. The only things my friends will order there is the Grilled Cheese or the Corn Dog. It kills me that this place sucks so much, because having lived in Walnut Creek for so long, you WANT a good place to sit and eat and watch the game. But that place doesn't exist. read more
