Visiting from out of town and drove 20 minutes to pick up my phone order, when I get there I asked is everything in there the tell me yes. Get back to my hotel to eat my food and food is missing, so I called stacked told what happened they say sorry you can come get your missing food, then I explained how long it took me to get there and now I have to eat cold food just to comeback to get what was left out of my order and the person I spoke to said they will have my food remade for me when I get there just bring the order back. But when I get there it's no food remade for me and I had my order with me to return, the two girls at the front had no care for the customer or try to fix there mistake. So when I ask to speak to the manager they told me one of the girls that was giving me a hard time about my food at the front was one, and then I asked again to speak to the manager I spoke on the phone to, the never did that and when I ask for my money back they gave me more of an attitude and do it is no refund or comp which wouldn't been a problem if it wasn't anything wrong with my order that they caused but all the mistakes was on them. This will be the first and last time I spend any money with this establishment because they do not value their customer and the customer service is the worst. I have eaten here many times and expect to wait to be seated. On Sunday 10/14 we were waiting patiently to be seated but were really offended by the attitude of their staff. Scowls on their faces, comments that could be heard, and taking people out of order just because they complained were the rules of the day. Done with this place. I went here on a weekday for brunch because the yelp photos were very enticing and the reviews seemed pretty solid. Seating didn't take long at all which was nice. The dining area is small and cramped. Tables sit closely to each other. Anyways, about the food. We ordered the "stacked special" and the panini which came with soup, fries and coke slaw. The stacked special consisted of pancakes, sausage and eggs. The pancakes are not good. When I cut into the top of one it separated from the inner pancake and by the time I was done cutting, it just looked a total mess because of how dry and crappy they were cooked. The outside of the pancake was tough and the inside was dry and crumbly. We ordered a side of hash browns and those were pretty good. For the soup we chose Greek lemon chicken. There wasn't any chicken at all in it. Instead what arrived was a bowl of yellow, thick, sour, creamy texture with rice. To sum it up it was a bowl of smothered sour rice. That's what they should name it instead. The panini was more so reminiscent of a grilled cheese than a panini. At least I can say i tried this place but I won't try it again. read more

Visited for my first time today for my best friends birthday. The atmosphere was nice, was greeted and welcomed by friendly people, the menu was expansive with lots off cool upgrades for special pancakes and reasonable prices. At the end of our meal, we wanted to hang out and enjoy our coffee. We also noticed they had a cooler with alcoholic beverages and had grabbed a couple. The server seemed to be in a rush to leave, since she asked to close out our bills while we were still hanging out- that's fine, were servers too, so we understand wanting to finish your paperwork and go home. However, the restaurant didnt close for another hour, and 2 busboys asked us to get up and move to another table with our drinks so they can clean the one we were sitting at.. it didn't make much sense, because they would be cleaning the new table as well, and was very unprofessional. We decided to chug our cans and leave, as we felt like we were being pushed out the door. We work for a great company who completely embraces the customers experience and aims to make it something they'll never forget. I had higher hopes for this place but that was really a turn off. Also, it's been a few hours since we both ate there. It's all we ate today, and we're both feeling very sick. My stomach hurts and I'm nauseous, and my friend threw up twice. Our company orders from Stacked often, and we usually speak with the owner, but they hired this terrible hostess that has a nasty attitude. I don't know if she's overwhelmed by the crowds of the place, or what, but I definitely will be taking a break from Stacked. We ordered a large lunch order, and she forgot salad dressings for two of the salads. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's so annoying to have to drive back, park, pick up the dressings, etc. We called Stacked to let them know they forgot the dressings, and we were on hold for 5 minutes. The hostess picked up and I told her I was holding for 5 minutes, and she responded with "I KNOW I'M VERY BUSY TODAY! Come back and pick up the dressings, and if I'm not busy I'll try and have someone bring them outside for you." So, I get back in the car, drive back to Stacked and her back was turned to an entire crowd of people that were waiting in line to be helped, and I saw there was a bag sitting at the counter. I asked her if that was the bag of dressings, and she said "YES MA'AM!" No apologies, didn't turn around, just extremely unprofessional and rude. I'd rather go to Marianos and make a salad and not have to deal with a woman who is having a bad day, or simply can't handle her work load. Also, my salad had chunks of dirt in the lettuce, that hadn't been washed off, so I was afraid to finish it. Went there with my husband and 9 month old for breakfast. When I asked the wait time, they said 20 minutes. Not ideal with a baby, but we don't get out as a family often so figured it'd be worth the wait. After 35 minutes, my husband went up to make sure we were still on the list. After 40 minutes, they seat a table that came in after us. 45 minutes later, and they seat another table that came in after us. My husband went up again to ask when we would be seated. He doesn't have quite the filter I have and actually said, "This is bullshit, we have a baby and you've sat two tables in front of us that came in after us. Come on" He was directed to talk to the manager who came over and said, "The only reason those tables were sat before you was because they sat at the counter where we couldn't put a high chair." Ok, fair enough...we continued to wait. When we finally were sat, instead of apologizing, she says that my husband was rude for swearing, and that she can't do anything about the wait, and if we didn't like the wait time, we could have left. We reminded her that we were told the wait was 20 minutes, to which she snidely said, 'Well I can't kick tables out." The best part...both parties that were sat in front of us were sitting directly next to where we were sat, NOT AT THE COUNTER!! We will not be back. read more

The food was not that good, the service was lacking but the last straw was when our waitress spilled napkins from a cart on the floor, picked them up and put them on top of the pile. Well 100 min later we are still standing there. & a Caucasian lady says to my friend hey that couple they just seated just came and sat down in 4 min. She told me & I politely went over and asked the hostess the party you just seated just arrived. She said no not true. The cashier apologized to us you could tell he was hurt and embarrassed he knew what was happening but he needed his job. I have been to Stacked several times before and have absolutely loved the place. Not this last time! My boyfriend and I had gone in because he had yet to go and saw it on Chicago's Best (at this point in the relationship, he always talked about the show. Got to a point where I was praying for the guy to stop talking about the show.). We were put on the waiting list and told half an hour. In that half hour, we saw several groups who came in after us seated immediately. After a while we were seated at the stools, which I was excited about. Upon climbing into the chair (I have to do that on occasion, I'm only 5'4"), I noticed that I was missing a coffee cup. Ok, no big deal; the waitress could bring out one when she goes to get the coffee. We were sitting for ten minutes before a waitress from another section came to start our order. A couple minutes later, our waitress came with the coffee, went to get another cup for us. In the meantime, my boyfriend gave me his cup and said he could wait. Waitress comes back with a cup, and gives us a few minutes to decide what we wanted. In those few minutes we noticed that his coffee cup still had lipstick on it and my utensils had the paper straw wrapper on it. At that point, we completely lost it and walked right out. If the cup and a fork are dirty, I'd hate to think what else is. I doubt I'll be back, even if my daughter begs me to go. The only good thing that came out of this is that my prayers were answered and I haven't heard about Chicago's Best since then. read more

In my opinion Stacked is pretty overrated. The quality of the food is there, however the prices are a little steep, but generally comparable to other restaurants that sell similar foods. My go to meal is the croissant with turkey bacon and shredded potatoes. The potatoes are never seasoned and the croissant is bland. The food tastes homemade, just not very flavorful and fairly overpriced. The skillets are decent, but again not seasoned much at all. read more

I've been coming to this place for years now. The food is always great, the customer service is solid, it's reasonably priced and overall II've had a pleasant experience. Here's why I'm giving this place such a low review. You typically want to get here early because it gets pretty packed. That's not my qualm with Stacked. The issue is how they don't navigate they people that are waiting in a better fashion. In short, I stood here for an hour and more and more people kept coming in. They blocked they entire entrance and bathrooms all the way beyond the counter. Now that I think of it the emergency exit is blocked as well because they moved a table to accommodate a large party. Did the one hour wait bother me? Not at all. I typically wait 30-40 minutes. Again, the issue is that you have one emergency exit but the main entrance is blocked. Now, in case of an emergency we'd pretty much be out of luck. No one seemed to care. I actually didn't even notice Until I heard two separate groups say something. I came in with my daughter and the pretty much jeopardizes overall safety. I'm sure this actually violates some type of health code. I contemplated calling the fire department. I get that you have a product that people want, but that can't supersede the safety of anyone. read more

Went to visit this restaurant today for the second time. Unfortunately, we had a horrible dinning experience. Let me start by saying that this is no restaurant to sit and chat. I decided to invite my friend that I hadn't seen in a few months, as we arrived we waited to be called and couldn't wait to get a taste of the food! Food came in, and we talked and drank coffee and ate our breakfast. We both are mothers and everyone out there that has children knows how difficult it an be dinning with little ones. This obviously took us longer to eat our meal. Waiter kept coming asking to box our meal, bag our meal, until finally a man from the register told us that he had a line out the door- meaning "get out!" We never felt so humiliated in a restaurant! We would never return! We consume and as far as I know there's no rule on how long to seat and dine. Very unprofessional of this man- it's obvious that their best interest is not a return customer, but instead a eat-pay-get out type of deal. This is my first ever review, but in all honesty I had to post this- especially for all my mommies out there that have children and know how long it can take to eat a meal at a restaurant. I ordered a side of french toast, and 1 meal with french toast, eggs and hash brown. The waitress didn't explain that the french toast came with about 6 slices of french toast. I would have never ordered the extra side of french toast had she given me the courtesy of explaining how the french toast came in a side order. Usually I pay $10 and some change for 1 order of french toast, eggs and sausage, but for the added side of french toast, my bill hiked to $29.18. These people are hungry for money and will overcharge you if you let them. There's plenty other restaurants that are better than Stacked. The lady refused to adjust my order and it was very unprofessional. I ordered here regularly but I will never return again after this experience. I am a nutritionist, and am very picky about well made, well presented , fresh food...this is the place! The sandwiches are fantastic, not to mention they don't scrimp on any portions. The omelets are hearty and full of fresh ingredients to your liking. They serve a homemade cup of soup, a side and a sandwich for under $9.00. They specialize in their pancakes and french toast...try the red velvet pancakes...and take note of all of the different toppings you can choose from. Third times the charm! I've come here for breakfast twice before today and always left because of the long wait time. This time I was taking my wonderful brother-in-law and my niece out to thank him for fixing my garage door opener and he wanted to wait. Well let me tell you, it was well worth the 30 minutes or so we had to wait. I had the standard bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast but it was great. My only complaint is that I asked for 'well-done bacon' and it was floppy, but to be honest, I can very rarely get bacon crisp (what's with that?). My niece had the pancakes from the kids menu and it was a huge stack of thick fluffy pancakes (not nearly enough syrup for my taste but I'm sure they would have brought more if we had asked). My B-I-L had a skillet and a side of pancakes and his looked great too. Very good, attentive service, huge portions and delicious food. I'll be back, just before 8am next time to avoid the wait. The definitely need a bigger space because I saw many people come in, then leave when they found out the wait time. Money out the window. The cashier was rude and short with all of the customers. Granted it was busy, but no need to be an asshole to your paying customers that are giving you money for your service. This weekend me and a few friends went to have breakfast at this establishment. Upon arrival we were told by the caucasian hostess that there would be a 45 minute wait due to the crowd. As we waited at the door my friend notice that the hostess let a group of 3 in before us and they had just walked off the street. At this point my friend became frustrated and approached the couple that was seated. She politely asked the couple did they make a reservation and they said no. They simply said we just walked in was seated right away. My friend at this point went back to the caucasian hostess and asked her why she was seating people before us..She was unable to explain herself and started being rude to my friend. Shortly after a gentleman walked over and introduced himself as the owner(Tom) and asked what was the problem. My friend explained to him how rude the hostess was and that she was unfairly seating people that had not made a reservation. Tom(owner) defended everything the hostess did and turned his back on my friend and walked away. To make a long story short no owner should never turn his back on a customer that's trying to discuss an issue about his restaurant. If you can get passed waiting years to be seated, it actually is a pretty good breakfast joint. However it is so small and you are squeezing through tables to get to yours and constantly people are bumping into each other. They should get a much larger establishment, the food is awesome and the staff is usually very pleasant. One star would be too much to give this restaurant but since I did like the waiter I would give her the star. Since this was my first time going to the restaurant located at 143rd Cicero I looked forward to going there and would have did a posting on FB but I was appaulded at how petty the owner is. I didn't get her name but she made sure to tell me that she owned both places when I inquired about contacting corporate. It all started from receiving one honey for my green tea which was approximately $2.50. I asked about receiving more honey which I was told would be an additional ,50. I frequent many restaurants and have never been charged for extra honey. I asked to speak to the manager and I conveyed to her that I was new to the restaurant and that my tea wasn't sweet enough and that I was given all this hot water with very little honey. She stated there would be an extra charge. I asked her do many people come in and ask for honey and she said no. I then replied so what's the problem with receiving extra honey with out the charge considering my breakfast was approximately $21.00. She still insisted that there is a charge. I stated I was going to post to yelp which she sarcastically said people usually write about. With this attitude she should look forward to more negative feedback. The waitress was nice and the pancakes were better than some restaurants i frequent but still dry with a good topping. The omlet and diced potatoes were bland and no matter what seasonings I added it didn't help. I'm also shocked to see a room full of workers and not one African worker even though its located in an area where we reside and patronize.
