I'm a fan of Jersey Mikes subs, but right now I'm not eating bread and decided to try a sub in a tub and was disappointed. I decided on the number 8 add pickles and hot relish. I ordered online which was easy peasey. 10 minutes later I arrive for pick up. Staff was there and doing there job nothing spectacular about the service. Once I received my bag it felt light, but I just figured it was due to lack of bread. Get home and this bowl was pretty underwhelming and did not include any mayo or bacon. It lacked any type of flavor this was nothing like their sub sandwich. Overall disappointed and will never order a sub in a tub again. They usually make good quality sandwiches at this location loaded with meat. This time my rosemary parmesan bread was hard. They were really busy so I'm surprised anything had time to get hard. They loaded the sandwich with toppings which is always great, but pay attention to the salt. If you order mikes way they shake salt and vinegar on your sandwich which seems unnecessary considering deli meat is already salty. They honor all coupons and deal days if you're a club member. You can order through the app for quick pick up but you will get a better quality sandwich if you order in person. No dine in for now but carry out is usually what I do here anyway. read more

I went to Jersey Mikes in Orland Park this past summer and was impressed with the turkey sandwich I bought. So I thought let me try the one around my house in Oak Lawn. I've never had bread that was that hard. I didn't know bread could even get that hard. My sandwich felt like a brick in a brown paper bag. I just got home from work and needed to get my nails done so I suffered through the brick sandwich. The bread was just shedding as I bit down. Crumbs. The bread makes the sandwich . I have always unequivocally loved sub sandwiches better than any other food. I've had perfectly cooked ribeye steaks, lobster tails, and everything else that the best food city in the world, Chicago has to offer. Despite having every possible option at my fingertips, I always return to the sub sandwich. I've tried them all. The mom and pops, the here for fifteen minutes, and every possible chain. I want to concentrate on chain sub restaurants. I'll post my favorite mom and pop sub in a future blog. For a while, my chain sub of choice was Jimmy Johns who just recently added giant subs to their menu, my compliments. The Gargantuan at Jimmy Johns was a sandwich that I didn't think would ever lose its reign as king of chain subs, that was until it met another that was superior, the Jersey Mike's giant club supreme. Not since the Mountain on Game of Thrones crushed the head of Prince Oberyn had I been in such shock seeing an exquisite champion taste, it's first defeat. The giant club supreme is by all accounts the perfect sandwich. Boars head Turkey, Roast Beef, and Swiss (I call an audible and switch the swiss for provolone). The sandwich is then generously covered with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar, and spices. I add mayo and banana peppers to this monstrosity. Horrible experience at this Oak Lawn location. I'm used to the great customer service from the Downtown (Wells St.) location. The girl making the sandwiches clearly did not want to be there, I asked for "only" oil and she yet she drowns my sandwich in vinegar. The person I was with stated what she wanted on her sandwich "everything, except peppers" and this girl kept asking ingredient by ingredient ... Not sure if she understood "everything, except" to top it off this girl looked at me as if I was the crazy customer. Jersey Mike's is my absolute favorite place to get a sandwich, but this location is my absolute least favorite location! I mostly feel this way because the customer service is meh and when it's busy the employees will make like 20 sandwiches in a row without wiping the counter down or changing their gloves causing your sandwich to be prepped in other people's "sandwich juice". Yes, I said "sandwich juice" they are very heavy handed with their oil and vinegar and it gets EVERYWHERE! On to the experience that finally led me to write this review. Because this location is closest to my house, if I need delivery I must patronize this location whomp, whomp... I placed my order on GrubHub and while there were some options to add or remove ingredients there was no option to make special requests, but I placed the order anyway and figured I'd call to make my requests over the phone. One problem... they didn't answer my call. I had GrubHub reach out to them and they didn't answer GrubHub either. So I contacted my delivery driver and asked him to relay my message. He gave his phone to someone and I spend over 4 minutes on the phone with this person as they tried to LOCATE my order, once they found it I told her what changes I wanted (very simple changes I might add: easy lettuce and swiss instead of provolone) and they said they'd get right on it. My order arrived and not only did my sandwich have provolone on it but it had over a quarter pound of lettuce! (Yes, I weighed it on my kitchen scale!) I bet my sandwich didn't even have a quarter pound of meat on it. I used to love the Philly cheese steak sandwich but last week I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich at the Oak Lawn, Il store and they proceeded to make the sandwich by chopping up the meat with the cheese so fine it looked like hamburger meat. I found this out once I got home and opened the sandwich wrap. Part of the bread pealed off on the paper wrapping (gross) I noticed the meat/ cheese mixture was very small, it was like half the normal amount and looked more like hamburger meat. I wondered what the cook kept on chopping ( first time I had seen so much chopping) now I know why. I threw out the sandwich and had cereal for dinner. I tried this location about a month ago. It was my first time to Jersey Mikes. A regular sized sandwich plus chips and a drink costs about $11. It was a good sandwich with no complaints. However, I went in there today and I was the only customer besides an online order they were preparing. My sandwich was made right away, but I waited 9 min to pay. I was in and out with my sandwich in 15 minutes. My lunch break is 30 min. So there was half of it. At $11 per meal you better believe I expect you to be fully staffed! While she was heating up my chicken for my wrap, she was making comments like "I forget how to cook", "What is a chicken wrap" "how long am I supposed to cook this again".
