Awesome! Service was great and food was even better. It was clean and comfortable, all the way to the restrooms. Celebrated my niece's birthday here for breakfast with a very large party. Sarah was our server and SHE IS THE BEST! She accommodated all of us even the babies, it was crowded but she still paid attention to us and was even able to have conversation. What a great breakfast! Our table ordered the steak and eggs and an order of French toast with cinnamon apples. The steak was enormous! It was tender and surprisingly tender for a diner. The French toast on it's own was a little too eggy for my taste, but when eaten with the apples was just amazing. The coffee was strong, which I appreciate. The restaurant was very crowded for a Thursday, so I'm pretty sure the wait on a weekend is insane but we'll worth it. read more

Went with my family here with my family this summer after receiving rave reviews from our cousin. Waited 30 minutes...and...disappointment. There was nothing stellar about the meal and the pancakes, which they are named for where dry with a burnt taste? As in some of my other post I am always hopeful and rooting for the restaurants in and near my neighborhood but I could only describe my meal as a waste of my daily calories. Loved it. Had a daddy/daughter date with my girls. Our server was Ann or Anna? (I couldn't really hear her when she said her name) but she was very sweet. It was crowded so we chose our breakfast in the car while waiting. She offered a better choice for me and the kids. She was patient with me and the kids and was really attentive, despite the crowd and other tables. The food was delicious. I'm definitely gonna try to sit with her next time I come. read more

Used to love this place but my last visit was quite unforgettable in a bad way. The food was good, my only complaint is that I got the pecan bun french toast, and it came with no pecans. They used walnuts instead. I like walnuts, but I was just very confused. Then after we ordered and literally sipping on our soup, the waitress tells us the system is down, the atm in the restaurant is broken, and they only accept cash. And we were told we can go to a nearby atm to get cash. Cool, no problem until we realized all the waitresses around us were telling everyone it was cash only AFTER orders were placed and food was already being prepped. It was weird, but we said, at least we can go to the atm. And so we went to the front to let them know, and the hostess asked for a license. Fine, makes sense, but without apologizing for the inconvenience and making me feel like I was going to steal the food and not come back to pay was a bit insensitive. "I'm going to need your id." Literally, and then we left to grab cash and come back to pay. It was an interesting visit nonetheless. read more

We absolutely love stacked!! It's usually pretty busy on the weekends, so you will have to wait for a table. As long as you don't have a huge party, they get you in quick. We have had many different breakfast items and all are very good. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because the one time we ordered lunch, it wasn't as great as their breakfast. It might be just what we ordered but I regretted not getting breakfast. You really should try this place. It's one of our favorites. read more

Was very upset for the amount of money I paid ($40) for our breakfast. My family are Pancake lovers and they were horrible, they were dry and crumbled. Orange juice wasn't the greatest, especially for the price. My son usually eats all his pancakes, but this time he only ate one. I will definitely not be going back nor recommending it. If you put up with the unfair seating practices and waits of an hour or more, the food is delicious. We watched people leave and come back after their name had been called and they were seated ahead of us despite the fact that we never left and waited for our name to be called. Then we watched a couple of friends walk in of the dud who was seating people. Surprise, surprise, they got seated ahead of us. This is the second visit in which the seating was shady. This is my favorite local breakfast place for sure! Everything I have had here is delicious and I leave very satisfied, every time. The service is always great even though it's crowded and they have many other customers we never have to wait long to get checked on or to get things we need. I gave it it 4 out 5 stars because of the wait time to get a table. I went there when I was pregnant and I had nowhere to sit for an hour but I was craving stacked so I waited. I really don't know what the hype is all about. I ordered what I thought was something simple. Poached eggs with bacon and diced potatoes. The eggs were under cooked, the bacon was cold and greasy (it was obvious that it was cooked hours before), and the potatoes were dripping with grease. The pancake special (Snickers) sounded delicious but was overdone. Too much snickers. It tasted like melted snickers covered in pancake batter. Also, the silverware was filthy! I'm thoroughly disappointed in my food preparation today , Friday 27 April 18. I took my family ( daughter,son,grandson and former wife) to this place, I ordered the" Irish eyes skillet which contain corn beef ,hash browns and eggs. My corn beef was pink and later that day ( approx 3hours) I felt nauseous. Later on I threw up three times. I expected better from this place and definitely won't be back. read more

Although, it is a small restaurant, if you get early, you have to wait around 20 minutes to get a table, but the food is worth it. The waiters have excellent service and help you refill your cup of joe. but, I suggest a couple items of the menu: The Eggs Benedict and the Country Skillet with Ham and Sausage. also, if you get the pancakes with your breakfast, best pancakes in Chicago nice and fluffy.
