My fiancé and I decided to try this place out due to a recommendation. The cashier was really friendly and helpful since we told him it was our first time trying the food. It's really hard to leave this restaurant unsatisfied, because of the variety of flavors and dishes. Plus the ability to get the dish as a sandwich, wrap or salad makes it so easy to find something you love. They pay attention to quality and creativity too, making it an unbeatable place for lunch or dinner. Pluses: variety of unique flavors, fresh ingredients, casual atmosphere. If you want a nice kick to tacos, the off-menu salsa cucina is amazing. Minuses: a bit crowded at peak lunch time but not at dinner. Bottom line: This restaurant could hold it's own anywhere, so I'm ecstatic that a casual restaurant with flavorful and inventive food is in MY neighborhood :D read more

As someone who's grown up on the north shore my entire life, it's really exciting to see a sandwich and salad place that does it right. The menu is simple yet interesting and the service is great. The guy who seems to be the owner is active and does everything in his power to make everyone's experience great. We went on a busy summer day and though the line was long, our food came out very fast. I ordered the ahi tuna poke salad and it was YUM. The other half got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and devoured it a little bit quicker than I could have blinked. We sat outside which was amazing but the inside is also super nice. The kitchen is open so you can watch your food being made. Cool! Overall I would absolutely recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a new regular spot for lunch (or dinner). read more

We were looking for some variety in our take-out lineup since we decided to eat in to watch the Cubs playoff game tonight. Boy, we are so happy we found this place. Ordered Ahi Poke salad and the Short Rib salad... So fresh and flavorful. Added the Steak and Cheese sandwich and sweet potato fries. Great choice! Very good sandwiches and salads. The pork belly sandwich and korean bbq salad are my faves. They also have tater tots. Be aware that they sometimes mix in stale tots with fresh ones (you can easily tell the difference), so it can be a bit hit or miss with those. Otherwise, I recommend. read more

Delicious tacos. Took the short drive over from Old Orchard since they had nice salad selection. Ended up getting tacos. Ordered Cajun salmon, al pastor and carne Asada tacos. I'd recommend getting 2 tacos for average eaters and 3 for big eaters. I'd recommend coming back and getting the fish tacos. I'm giving three stars because the food is great and the owner has been so wonderful to work with when it comes to catering. (I manage a business in the area.) I placed an order online at 12:30, received an email confirmation that it would be ready at 1:01, so I get there at 1pm. The girl at the register asks for my name I give it to her and she can't locate my order and asks how I placed the order. I show her my order confirmation on the phone and she says "oh we're not taking orders through there today". Then she asks another girl and she confirms it. They tell me I can re-place the order but "it's going to be a while because they are busy". I proceeded to ask for my money back, and without flinching they said ok. No apologies, nothing. Upon realizing they needed help with the transaction they asked a gentlemen working behind them to do it for them. He asked why they were refunding me so I explained and he said they were taking orders from the portal where my order was placed. He looked over at the area where the to go orders were, and my order was there. He did apologize, I said thank you (I admit I was frustrated) and walked out. As I walked out, one of two girls loudly stated "sorry we're busy". Being busy shouldn't affect service recovery, or overall customer service. read more

It's about time! Winnetka desperately needed a place like this and Stacked & Folded hit it out of the park. I had the Cheese Steak and it was amazing but the other sandwiches I saw being made looked pretty amazing as well so I will definitely be back soon to try the others. Owner is extremely friendly as are his staff. Interior is clean and well done. The food steals the show though. Great for locals to stop by or for others to make the trip to Winnetka (very much worth the trip). read more

I have eaten at Stacked and Folded since they opened. This place has GREAT food. I really like everything on the menu and the service is so friendly. My favorite items are the poke and pork belly. I have not done many salads but can vouch for all tacos and sandwiches. I honk what's the most important to note is how fresh everything is because they are so busy. My favorite. It makes a big difference when someone makes sure that there are no GMO's and chemicals in your food, especially COMFORT FOOD. The owner, Josh is always saying "No processed meats in my restaurant". Well, amen. And you gotta love a place where, if you want, you can get a Merkt's cheddar warmed up for your tater tots. Holy cow. The Duck Bacon BLT is probably my favorite, but the turkey and brie w apple chutney comes really close as a second. I wish everybody cared this much about the food they serve. I work downtown and unless I want to pay $50 for lunch, EVERYTHING is mystery food. I have no idea if it's organic, genetically modified, low quality or what. I have now tried three of their sandwiches and have yet to be disappointed! Each sandwich has a distinct flavor profile that delights. I really wanted to like this place, but I was a little underwhelmed. My family split the short rib bahn mi and the avocado, lamb, and pork tacos. Not bad, but not great either. We started off not impressed as we were ignored while we waited to get an open table. The place is tiny and we were the only ones waiting at the time, standing next to a sign that said Please Wait to be Seated. We grabbed the next open table on our own, as did others after us. My husband was impressed that the woman who took our order suggested small fries rather than large for the two of us. My husband loved his pork belly and egg sandwich. My Bahn mi was not right. The fact that it was not on a crispy baguette was the worst for me. The menu description even says that is how it is served. The meat was tasty, but did not have a Bahn mi flavor to it. The sandwich also lacked hot peppers. I found one small one. The price was too high for what you are getting. read more

My girlfriend had the cheesesteak and it was amazing. I had a carne asada taco and a fried avocado taco. Both were very good but on the high end from a price point perspective. The place had patio seating which was nice so we could enjoy the sunny weather. They had a good selection for chips and drinks which aren't very common. Overall good place to eat. read more
