This was...fine. The waffles were good, more savory than sweet, and would theoretically compliment chicken well. The fries had no seasoning. The ranch was great and honestly the best part of the meal. The chicken wasn't very good at all. One of my tenders was basically entirely breading, and the breading isn't very good. The parts that did have significant pieces of chicken were dry and almost tasted burnt, so dunking them in ranch was necessary. $26 for this meal is exorbitant when I could drive to the Cane's in Warwick and get significantly more, better food than this. It might be great for URI students late at night, and I love the amount of sauces they offer, but I likely won't be back. I sat outside for a while waiting on my order to be ready and never saw anyone go in, so maybe others have come to the same conclusion. It's a shame, because I was really hoping it would be good. read more

Stack House - Chicken and Waffles - Chicken Wings Near Me - Kingston, Rhode Island

We were in town for a tour at URI and needed some food before heading home. Stack House had great reviews here so we decided to give it a try. The service was friendly while we ordered at the counter. The restaurant itself was empty other than us, though they seemed to do a decent take out business in mid-summer even with no students around. Maybe we should've taken our food somewhere else to eat. The music was not our style and was very loudly playing through a tv mounted on the wall. It was also very hot in the restaurant, despite it being only 67 degrees and rainy outside. The AC vent was *kinda* blowing cool air if you stood under it. Despite ordering food to dine in, it was served in a greasy-fingerprinted plastic container with plastic utensils. I think the only difference would be that "to-go" would have been placed in a a plastic bag. The food.... The options for food are waffles in various ways, chicken sandwiches flavored with different things, or chicken & waffles, which we ordered so we could try a bit of everything. I did eat about half of a serving before giving up. The chicken was rubbery and bland. The waffle was dense and also pretty bland. The French fries were a bit too potato-y for my liking. Everything felt too greasy and not flavorful. It all absolutely needed a sauce that they charge nearly $2 extra for. We had one maple bourbon sauce to share and it was tasty but not enough for two people so I kept dousing everything in the maple syrup that was on the table. My dining partner said, "I don't think even that much syrup will help." When I couldn't finish, even my teenaged, eat-anything, and budget-conscious kid said, "just toss it. It is not worth saving." Though it was after 2pm when we had this lunch, neither of us felt hungry for dinner that night- and not really in a "wow that was so good it filled me up" way. Stack House likely does a great hangover food business. If I'm back in the area, I will try something else next time. read more

Stack House - Chicken and Waffles with a side of sea salt fries - Chicken Wings Near Me - Kingston, Rhode Island

OMGGG!!! The sandwich I got here was out of this world!! And everybody else's food in there looked outstanding! I use my RI Food Fights coupon for their Backyard BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich (normally $11.35). It was unreal. Juicy piece of chicken with a crispy outside and decent size. But the star was the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. I could drink that stuff straight lol. They were definitely generous with the amount of sauce they put on and it was perfectly getting everywhere. The only bone I have to pick is with the bun. The top was not soft, it was hard. Not sure if it was stale or something was messed up, but if it was soft like how brioche is, it would have made the sandwich even better. Everybody there waited a pretty long time for their food, but I now know that's because they are legit making things from scratch and really care about what they're giving to consumers. Very affordable prices too. I'll be back to try their chicken & waffles and maybe their Wake the Cluck Up Sandwich. Keep it up! read more

Visited for the 2025 #rifoodfights #lordofthewings tour and must say was not disappointed. Wings were great size, cooked very well, and plenty of sauce with great flavor. Guy working was awesome to chat with and offered help any way he could. If you are looking for some wings, good spot. read more

The menu was such a hard decision. We ended up ordering the banana foster waffles with chocolate chips and graham crackers. It was so sweet and delicious, next time I would want less chocolate not to over power the bananas. We ordered a variety of chicken wings. The sticky, maple bourbon and sugar dry rub. They were all delicious. You order at the counter and pick a table. The guy working the counter was really nice. The inside could be updated a little bit but it was clear. The decor was very plain. I will be returning. read more

The Stack House was another stop for the annual RI Food Fights Lord of The Wings event. I've been to this place many times before and it never disappoints. It is a small place near URI with ample parking. It was quiet inside and there were several tables available at the time so had no problem finding a seat. I had the Asian Sweet Chili wings with some biscuits. The food was delicious. Well worth the drive to Kingston. I'll definitely be back. read more

Best chicken sandwiches in South County! And the waffles are just perfect... I'd eat here everyday if I could.

If you haven't been over to the pickup food location on Bath Street, you're in for a treat. Lots of restaurants and when you walk in you check in and they hand you the food from the right restaurant. Today I tried Stack House. I ordered plain waffles, the waffle breakfast sandwich, the pesto chicken sandwich and the Ayo spicy chicken sandwich. First a warning and then we'll get on with the excellent review. Waffles do not travel well. They get soggy very quickly, especially when you put them in a styrofoam box. That being said they were very tasty. The rest of the food was fabulously and delicious. My favorite was the pesto chicken sandwich. The chicken was crispy and tender and juicy and it was covered in pesto and topped with sun-dried tomatoes and it is definitely an A+. If you like spicy the AyO spicy chicken sandwich has equally well prepared chicken and the sauce is actually spicy. Too spicy for me, which but my lunch partner loved it. The real creative genius is the waffle breakfast sandwich. It's not really made on a waffle, it's made on more of a pancake, with sausage, egg, and cheese in between and then covered in maple syrup. It's a sloppy mess but totally worth the sticky fingers. You order online and pick the time that you want to pick up the food. When I got there the food was waiting for me right on time. Pick up is a very smooth process. The parking lot is large enough to handle a lot of pickups at the same time. All in all it was a positive experience and one that I plan to repeat again. read more

We came here for the food fighters chicken wing challenge. I had no idea that these restaurants were housed in this building on Bath Street in Providence. That's such a lovely idea and so convenient. We ordered from the car and went in and picked it up and it was safe and clean and very accommodating. I don't think that we got the full menu online because when I called to order they said they had 12 flavors but I could not find them all online. We ordered the jerk chicken which the gentleman told us was very popular and the citrus teriyaki wings. The jerk chicken was a little bit spicy and had some strong seasoning to it. The wings were very well coated in sauce and it was extremely flavorful. The wings also were very large. I don't usually care for them that large but these were well cooked which is what I look for. The citrus teriyaki did not taste like teriyaki at all nor did it taste like citrus. I have this funny feeling that we might have gotten a different flavor. But they were delicious. They actually smelled like butter and tasted like butter when we ate them. I don't know what their 12 flavors are so I don't know if I could match that flavor up to something that they offer. They were quite good and a nice size. They were also cooked very well. We called in and got an answering machine but the gentleman called us right back so we were able to place our order and it took about 15-20 minutes for the wings to be ready which is very reasonable. They actually came with french fries which I didn't expect. It was certainly a meal when you pair six wings with french fries. More than enough for a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed them and will definitely go back. read more

TLDR: Spent 20 bucks on what I could have made at home for 7 dollars and tasted like it was worth 3 bucks max. The only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 star is because the service here was great, I walked in and immediately was helped. However, the food does in no way shape or form deserve to be priced the way it is. I just got robbed of almost 20 dollars for 4 plain waffles that I wouldn't have even attempted to finish if there was not syrup to hide the grossness of the waffles and 2 chicken tenders. The chicken tenders did not even have salt. The only salt on my plate was on the fries, the salt on the fries was only there because I had to order the salt separately. You may wonder why I did not dip my chicken in one of the many sauces they have? Well that's because one little cup of sauce is another 1.54 on top of the outrageous price for the meal. I'm not spending 1.54 on 25 cents worth of sauce. read more

A bit pricey and charge for sauces but some pretty good southern food and fried chicken.

Best food in the area. I usually get the wings but everything else is great as well. There are a lot of delicious sauce flavors and options for breakfast and lunch. Close to the university of Rhode Island if you are in town for an event. read more

Went back for second time and loved the A-Yo sandwich and the sweet potato fries with Cajun spice. This place has great food! Point Blank! I will likely eat my way through the menu items I haven't yet tried over the next few months. The women at the counter was really pleasant. Eddie the owner stepped out of the kitchen and has a great appreciation for customers. Great food and a young entrepreneur getting his business off the ground. You gotta check it out! read more

I F'in LOVE this place. Literally the best idea ever. Anything you can want after a great night or on a rainy day is here. Everything ranges in price but for how cheap it is It's worth it. If you want a top notch dine in place this isn't it. It's not a dine in vibe. It's a I just woke up and want something sweet and cheap and worth it picking it up in my jammies and getting back to the house for a movie. Or a great hang over cure. Or even a late night I want breakfast vibes. Brunch you name it. Loved this! And the combos!? Please keep it coming lol!! read more

First timer here so Where do I begin, BLACK OWNED which is why I wanted to give this place a try. you place your order on an app & they tell you to stay in your car until a text is received for pick up. My fiancé placed his order on grub hub at 10:04am today for pick up at 11:30am.. we arrived at 11:22a waiting for a text that never came so he went inside. We didn't get our food until 12:13p which to me is absolutely ridiculous. Busy Sunday morning or just a regular wait time given the establishment specializes in take out only with other businesses within it. Tons of people were waiting around and I don't know if it's because of covid or again, busy Sunday but it was a hot mess! The food was okay, I got a breakfast combo with French toast and patties. It was good but too sweet for me, French toast stickers were very toasted and practically burned. I think the best item I got were the wedges because of the seasoning and crunch to them. Needless to say, I unfortunately don't plan on returning. read more

Getting food from Stack House was a new experience! It is not a typical restaurant with dine-in options. It is part of a group of restaurants within a big building called Bathfoodco. (It's on bath street). You place your order online for one of the restaurants, then wait until it's ready and pick it up at a window inside. I don't know if it's new with COVID, or if it's always been like this? Cool concept, for sure. The wait time was long (30 minutes), so probably place your order before driving over. The waffles we got were pretty yummy. The chicken was nice and moist, and the breading was well-seasoned. The two downsides are 1) the waffles got rather soggy on the drive home in their containers (unavoidable, but still sad) and 2) the price seems a bit high for what you get. Overall, I would probably try it again if I'm in the mood for waffles and if I place my order ahead of time. I wish it was a little more clear on the website/review apps what the setup is. Hopefully this is helpful! Enjoy read more

This is the worst place I've ever been. You hace to wait 1 hour for the food to be ready and they say there's only one guy cooking and its the owner, there's multiple business like chickfile stackhouse and many more. !!!!!And only one man working making the food!!!!! I couldn't even wait long enough to take a picture; it was that good! I ordered the chicken and waffles and my partner ordered the waffle breakfast combo. Since this place is delivery/takeout only, I had to order online through grub hub. I received a text that said my order was in progress then another text that said my order was ready to pick up at the counter. Pretty seamless process really. Now, onto the food. My partner usually doesn't like eating sweets but he absolutely loved these waffles! The potato wedges were crispy and seasoned well. Yo... that AYO! sauce though?! Where can I buy a case?! And guess what? The food tasted extra good because this place is 100% Black owned! We were satisfied and happy with our meal and will be returning! read more

My wife and I wanted to try this new spot because their chicken and waffles on IG looked delicious. We placed an order on Sunday, March 28th of two orders of chicken and waffles at 12:24pm and it say the order was going to be ready for 1:30pm -1:40pm time frame. We came to pick up the food at 1:45pm. However, the food was not ready. So we wait, and wait and wait and the time is 2:36pm and still no food. Think twice before ordering from this place. read more

Extremely long wait time for some under seasoned under whelming food. IHOP makes better chicken and waffles.

Ordering was easy, pick-up even easier. Food was all hot and extremely fresh, prices were definitely reasonable for the quality/quantity, I can't wait to order again! The chicken (Chicken & Waffles) was seasoned absolutely perfectly, crisp and hot even after 20ish minutes travel time, and so big! The breakfast sandwich was made with quality meat/cheese/eggs/muffin; the French toast far exceeding the expectation I had. Don't sleep on this place, you'll love it read more

I read about this place and was seduced by the pictures. I try to only eat fried chicken once a year so I choose carefully. luckily we were on campus to attend a concert by the Nabsco so we went to check the place out. could not resist even though we were driving back to providence. I got in the car and had to have a wing right away. just delicious. maybe the best I've ever had. ate the rest 40 minutes later and though the were no longer super crispy it didn't matter - the flavor was great. they come with sauces but don't need them. fries got steamed too on the ride home but still were good. was so excited to try this since it was the closest breakfast spot from my school that sells chicken and waffles, this was probably my least favorite chicken and waffle meal i have ever had, the breading of the chicken was not good, the waffles tasted like the batter was old or just not good quality waffle batter, the waffles tasted like nothing, i asked for powered sugar over it and they gave me a single clumped up ball of powdered sugar on one waffle? which was very confusing, i also got very sick to my stomach eating this, so i highly DO NOT recommend this. read more
