Chicken and Waffles with a side of sea salt fries
    R H.

We were in town for a tour at URI and needed some food before heading home. Stack House had great reviews here so we decided to give it a try. The service was friendly while we ordered at the counter. The restaurant itself was empty other than us, though they seemed to do a decent take out business in mid-summer even with no students around. Maybe we should've taken our food somewhere else to eat. The music was not our style and was very loudly playing through a tv mounted on the wall. It was also very hot in the restaurant, despite it being only 67 degrees and rainy outside. The AC vent was *kinda* blowing cool air if you stood under it. Despite ordering food to dine in, it was served in a greasy-fingerprinted plastic container with plastic utensils. I think the only difference would be that "to-go" would have been placed in a a plastic bag. The food.... The options for food are waffles in various ways, chicken sandwiches flavored with different things, or chicken & waffles, which we ordered so we could try a bit of everything. I did eat about half of a serving before giving up. The chicken was rubbery and bland. The waffle was dense and also pretty bland. The French fries were a bit too potato-y for my liking. Everything felt too greasy and not flavorful. It all absolutely needed a sauce that they charge nearly $2 extra for. We had one maple bourbon sauce to share and it was tasty but not enough for two people so I kept dousing everything in the maple syrup that was on the table. My dining partner said, "I don't think even that much syrup will help." When I couldn't finish, even my teenaged, eat-anything, and budget-conscious kid said, "just toss it. It is not worth saving." Though it was after 2pm when we had this lunch, neither of us felt hungry for dinner that night- and not really in a "wow that was so good it filled me up" way. Stack House likely does a great hangover food business. If I'm back in the area, I will try something else next time.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich Raw in the middle. Disgusting

Grossed out and can't recommend this restaurant. Served raw Nashville chicken sandwich today.

The Stack House was another stop for the annual RI Food Fights Lord of The Wings event. I've been to this place many times before and it never disappoints. It is a small place near URI with ample parking. It was quiet inside and there were several tables available at the time so had no problem finding a seat. I had the Asian Sweet Chili wings with some biscuits. The food was delicious. Well worth the drive to Kingston. I'll definitely be back.

The menu was such a hard decision. We ended up ordering the banana foster waffles with chocolate chips and graham crackers. It was so sweet and delicious, next time I would want less chocolate not to over power the bananas. We ordered a variety of chicken wings. The sticky, maple bourbon and sugar dry rub. They were all delicious. You order at the counter and pick a table. The guy working the counter was really nice. The inside could be updated a little bit but it was clear. The decor was very plain. I will be returning.

Pesto Chicken sandwich and Ayo spicy chicken sandwich with fries included.

If you haven't been over to the pickup food location on Bath Street, you're in for a treat. Lots of restaurants and when you walk in you check in and they hand you the food from the right restaurant. Today I tried Stack House. I ordered plain waffles, the waffle breakfast sandwich, the pesto chicken sandwich and the Ayo spicy chicken sandwich. First a warning and then we'll get on with the excellent review. Waffles do not travel well. They get soggy very quickly, especially when you put them in a styrofoam box. That being said they were very tasty. The rest of the food was fabulously and delicious. My favorite was the pesto chicken sandwich. The chicken was crispy and tender and juicy and it was covered in pesto and topped with sun-dried tomatoes and it is definitely an A+. If you like spicy the AyO spicy chicken sandwich has equally well prepared chicken and the sauce is actually spicy. Too spicy for me, which but my lunch partner loved it. The real creative genius is the waffle breakfast sandwich. It's not really made on a waffle, it's made on more of a pancake, with sausage, egg, and cheese in between and then covered in maple syrup. It's a sloppy mess but totally worth the sticky fingers. You order online and pick the time that you want to pick up the food. When I got there the food was waiting for me right on time. Pick up is a very smooth process. The parking lot is large enough to handle a lot of pickups at the same time. All in all it was a positive experience and one that I plan to repeat again.

    So convenient

We came here for the food fighters chicken wing challenge. I had no idea that these restaurants were housed in this building on Bath Street in Providence. That's such a lovely idea and so convenient. We ordered from the car and went in and picked it up and it was safe and clean and very accommodating. I don't think that we got the full menu online because when I called to order they said they had 12 flavors but I could not find them all online. We ordered the jerk chicken which the gentleman told us was very popular and the citrus teriyaki wings. The jerk chicken was a little bit spicy and had some strong seasoning to it. The wings were very well coated in sauce and it was extremely flavorful. The wings also were very large. I don't usually care for them that large but these were well cooked which is what I look for. The citrus teriyaki did not taste like teriyaki at all nor did it taste like citrus. I have this funny feeling that we might have gotten a different flavor. But they were delicious. They actually smelled like butter and tasted like butter when we ate them. I don't know what their 12 flavors are so I don't know if I could match that flavor up to something that they offer. They were quite good and a nice size. They were also cooked very well. We called in and got an answering machine but the gentleman called us right back so we were able to place our order and it took about 15-20 minutes for the wings to be ready which is very reasonable. They actually came with french fries which I didn't expect. It was certainly a meal when you pair six wings with french fries. More than enough for a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed them and will definitely go back.

These are the best wings I've had in Providence. They're a bit pricey but worth every penny. Fries are really tremendous as well. I've gotten the same order 3 or 4 times and it's just as delicious each time. Definitely give this spot a shot.

Their food is so good, chicken and waffles or the Parmesan chicken. Make sure you get ice cream to go with your waffles.

From 4-6pm they offer a great menu of discounted appetizers and it was easy to make a meal from these specials. Though it was early on a winter Tuesday evening, we found the place already filling quickly. Turns out that Tuesday is Bingo night which apparently draws a good crowd. Thankfully, we were early enough to grab a couple seats at the small bar. It definitely seems that reservations may be a good idea here year round. We had always imagined this space to be dark and, well, "cabin-y" inside. We couldn't have been more wrong. It's bright and open and airy. There's a deck out back too which most be great in warm weather. The bartender was obviously very well seasoned. She was prompt, friendly & on top of the rush. I enjoyed watching her efficiency behind the bar - a true professional. We ordered a couple waves of dishes from the discounted menu to try. To start, the Beet Carpaccio was a lovely salad. It paired perfectly with the rich, decadent Smoked Salmon & Crab Dip. For the next course we ordered the Coconut-Crusted Shrimp Skewers and the Streamed Mussels. Again - a great pairing! The Shrimp were good sized with a super crunchy panko & coconut coating. The sweet, spicy sauce was nice - not cloyingly sweet as some can be. And, those mussels were just delicious! I could eat that savory sauce with a spoon! My only request would be more garlic bread to soak up the yumminess! By the time we finished, the house was jammed with Bingo ready diners. While it looked like fun, we moved on to give up our coveted seats to those waiting patiently. While there, we learned that Wednesday is half price martini night. We will be back soon to try those too & are sure to make this a frequent stop.

My husband ordered the seafood chowder and it was good. In would agree with the other reviews that it was a little salty. For the main course I had the grilled salmon with crab cake. For cocktails I had the grapefruit martini . I really enjoyed it. Tasty and not too sweet. My husband has the very (black berry?) old fashioned and it was also very good. We will definitely return. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

We walked in for a late lunch and sat at the bar. I love the interior of the space. The pizza oven built of pizza stones is an eyecatcher but if you look around, you'll catch all kinds of fun decor choices throughout the space Our bartender was a gem. She was busy working on side work but she always kept an ear towards us so when we were ready, so was she. A sign of a real professional. We ordered some margaritas, the calamari and a small Powerslide pizza. Before long, she was setting everything down in front of us and we dug right in I was able to sample this pizza before at our National Pizza Day event last month so I was eager to snag a slice the moment it appeared before us. Sausage, caramelized onions, garlic and goat cheese. Yes, please. The combination of toppings with their dough as a base, with the bit of char from the wood fired oven? Divine. The calamari was excellent as well, fried perfectly (and if you know anything about me, I'm a bit particular about seafood). The peppers and olives were classic, well-prepared additions to the dish. And with the drizzle of balsamic, provided the extra acidity that I love on my seafood. And WHEN (not if) you swing by, if you drink make sure you order a cocktail. I've had an espresso martini before and now this time a margarita and every time they knock it out of the park! Loads of flavor options as well so you will find something you love, guaranteed. Summer is coming, so head down to the beach now before it gets too crazy and get one of the best pizzas in South County!

I may be a New York pizza snob, but for good reason. Let me start with their slices. Varying from plain to "buffaque", I wanted to try the buffalo chicken and the chicken bacon ranch. The sauce was layered in stripes with the cheese. I don't know how long ago they created the pizza, but I thought everyone on EARTH knew how to make a damn pizza. Then, they proceed to "heat up" your slice while you wait and grab a drink. Then you have the option to eat there, but I often decide to eat in my car. So my pizza wasn't hot and it's because they "heat up" the slice in a TOASTER. OVEN. In front of everyone. It's pitiful to say the least. Only good thing about it is how cheap it is not really though its actually quite expensive. Long story short, Don't go here if you want a good slice of pizza.
