Nice & quiet store, I was greeted with a friendly hello from every employee that I passed. By far the most organized thrift store I've been in. No clothes dropped on the floor and everything is color coordinated. Refreshing to see good prices, some thrift stores are now charging regular prices for second hand clothes now. I'll admit, I don't often go to St. Vinnie's thrift stores. They just seem sort of neglected and dingy, and often aren't very well maintained. This location was pretty typical -- a large footprint, yet somehow there's never anything I want to buy. When you walk in, there's a checkstand and a jewelry case right at the front, with women's clothing in front of you, men's clothing and housewares to the right, and furniture to the left. The fixtures, the linoleum, the shelves, everything just seems run-down and dirty, and it's kind of depressing. The last time I was there, they had a large bin of what looked like day-old bread at the entrance, so there might be a food bank component here as well? Prices are high for what they have. I think partly it's because they frequently have colored tag discounts or storewide 50% off sales, but that means that the regular prices are unrealistic. The clothing is dated without actually being vintage. I never find designer label clothes or collectibles/antiques here, which is what I'd *actually* be willing to pay higher prices for. If you're more interested in furniture or books, or if you're looking for clothes to tear up and reconstruct for costumes, you might have better luck at this store than I do. Otherwise, take a pass on this one. read more

I love to shop here! Not because I am (ahem) not rich, but because you can get so much stuff for CHEAP! I mean, what's wrong with getting a used blender for $6.00 or a used but very clean hardback novel for two bucks, or a pair of jeans for $7.00! I come here mostly for the books and the vids, and believe it or not, I am still a fan of VHS. Tapes are only $0.99 each, and CD's and DVD's are only $1.99 each. You can furnish your whole house here if you're on a budget. All the furniture and home appliances and knick knacks are in fine condition, and with $100 you could have a field day here. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul THRIFT SHOP in Kenmore is an excellent "general store," with a great selection of useful things, furniture and clothing. It is reliably staffed and clean and also served by volunteers. Prices are good especially on half-price days. Through the pandemic, they've masked up and encouraged masking. What's important to me: If you donate to SVDP, more than 95% of the value of the goods you give go directly to the charity, from what I've learned, beyond the good works the organization does for the homeless and needy. That's important in comparing this org to competing for-profit establishments where far less goes to the actual charity mission. My only suggestion: Get a really top merchandiser/ designer to do a pro-bono bit of a facelift on the interior decor and placement of items. read more

The grubby bearded curmudgeon working the drop off area needs to crawl back under his rock. If you are expecting to be yelled at for dropping items off, then you'll be right at home here. If you are like me, and have never dropped anything off, find the missing handbook before you go. This will explain there used to be a stop sign, and you aren't to pull ahead of where that used to be. As a bonus, look forward to having someone mutter their loath for you under their breath - because you should automatically know all things related to drop off. Perhaps a sign at the entrance explaining the process. But then again you wouldn't have an excuse for treating everyone like shit! read more

A lot of really old stuff from grandma and grandpa's deserted house. I like thrift stores and have found some really great deals there. This one though seems to just broker in musty, dusty stuff that is from 1980 or earlier. Prices are high for what I saw - $2 for a paperback novel from the '60's - but maybe they have some good things I didn't see that were reasonably priced. Will come back and see if they get anything in that's more recent or any antiques. read more

This is just like Goodwill store, though it is downgraded version of it. The place is big and has a lot of stuff to browse through. Though the quality of how they keep merchandise is not what I expected. Many things have dust all over and just standing there. Electrics do not look promising to work at all... I'm pretty sure some of them work still, but it is a bit risky. You can bring in to donate your stuff here! Pros: divided into categories so easy to find what you're looking for. A lot of clothes. Furniture, records and cassettes, dvd, videos as well. Kids toys are also available. Cons: very dusty. some things just look like standing there forever. I've been to this location twice in like 3 days. The first time I scored a few toys for cheap. So, I had to go back for more. On my first trip, I want to note an announcement made over the loudspeaker. They basically said "We won't clean up after you, so pick up after yourselves." The people at Shoreline Seattle Children's Bargain Boutique should follow that same thing -- make a statement to ALL your customers, not the baby who can't even speak for himself or the SAHM whose "recreational time" is spent shopping at thrift stores. Anyway, this store is more organized than the Lynnwood location that shut down. The book section is especially organized. I also like the furniture section. On my most recent trip, I found a Step 2 push car (sells new for ~ $60). It didn't have a price tag, but I took it to the cashier anyway. He looked at it and told me it was $12! Then he asked if I wanted it. Uh, hell yeah! My son loves it so much. It made the purchase even better. If I continue to find great bargains there, I'll definitely increase my rating. This review is more about the donation process than the shopping experience. I have attempted to donate and successfully donated several times. I brought by household items that were clean and in good shape and boxes of books. My husband and I have been turned away many times without even so much as a look at what we're bringing in. Just this weekend I brought in 8 large bags of quality clothing items, washed and folded, and didn't even get any eye contact let alone a thank you. Guys throw them out when they don't fit and there is lots of good stuff, as long as I don't baloon out like the general population. I like this St. Vinny locale - I don't know why - but I have always liked it, it's old, but it's got a lot of good, cheap junk. And if you don't mind digging you can find some gems! Just last week I got an almost brand new set of pastel oils for 99 cents!! The same day my friend found one of those cast iron dinosaur cake pans from Williams Sonoma here for $6 - c'mon now, you gotta admit that is a smokin' deal!!! The same day we also found an old irish linen tablecloth for less than $20 - how can you go wrong??? And, I just have to mention this - we gave away these pins at my work for some cause - they had one in the 'collectible' case - entertainment like that is priceless! Plenty of parking - after you can go over to Bastyr University and have a healthy lunch or the bowling alley (Kenmore Lanes) and have a not-so-healthy lunch. read more

Very large book and furniture selection. I was in a hurry so I didn't get enough time to browse but I will definitely come back to spend some time looking at the books. My go to thrift shop in Kenmore This is my go to thrift shop in Kenmore. They have great prices on all sorts of amazing random stuff. I have found so many things I needed here from a sound bar for my TV to vintage furniture, tools and parts for almost any project all for a fraction of the cost of buying new. You may have to wait and look but it seems it will eventually show up here. If you need anything ask the staff. They are always helpful and will work wit you on prices if you are respectful. read more

This store is bigger than I thought it would be. I wouldn't really go here for clothing. They don't have much selection for men's clothing. However, the furniture section in the back is a decent size and they have a great selection of books. I like how they have actually taken the time to alphabetize their books. I always hate going through books in thrift stores that are all out of order. Nicely done here. I thought I needed to share what happened at St. Vincent's a couple of months ago. I was followed around the store by an elder man who had long white hair and a white beard. He followed me around and winked and whistled at me. He attempted to corner me but I hustled up to the check out. I told the clerk and he said he would speak to the owner and make sure he wouldn't come in again. The last time I went in, which was last month, he was there again. This time I brought my boyfriend with me so he wouldn't harass me. He is a bigger man, with all white hair. read more

This St. Vincent's is ok when you need a quick thrift pick-me-up, but it's not one of the better locations. The furniture and book sections are well organized, but the clothing tends to be a bit out of control. I tend to just glance over the collectibles and housewares section because the shelves always seem to be too crowded to really look at the items they have available. read more

The cashiers and staff were all pleasant and friendly. It's a great place to treasure hunt, to find gems that you found not find anywhere else. The staff is super helpful and friendly apart from one buzz kill , you find a job that makes you happy , talking to people and being friendly is not the path for you . Last time I was here picked up army inform for my Soldier zombie costume and a shark steam cleaner and found forty bucks in the parking lot , score one for the good guys read more
