They don't offer day passes, but the man working in the general store explained that we could rent a campsite for the day and stay overnight if we wanted to. The price seemed pretty reasonable, but since we weren't planning to camp, he actually suggested that we drive a little farther down the road to an Idaho Fish and Game access area where we could enjoy the river for free. That kind of honesty and helpfulness made a really good impression on us. He was friendly, answered all our questions, and never seemed bothered by the fact that we weren't actually booking a site. The general store itself is super cute and has a lot of interesting things to browse. The campground also seemed very family-friendly. There were plenty of families staying there, and the whole property felt safe and relaxed.

She is open now to visiting other venues of similar quality. We stayed last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, checking out Monday morning early. We loved the big outdoor pool; if we had brought our goggles, we could have done lap swims (though the pool is curved so we would have had to allow for that). Very clean, very well-maintained. Since we were tenting, we made extensive use of the outdoor showers. We laid on the lounges around the pool to try to watch the Perseids meteor shower. Mike, in the office, was always extremely helpful and friendly, as were all the other guests. Nothing said or done was ever "off-color" - a proper nudist atmosphere. Everyone was fun to talk with and extremely "normal" (my wife's adjective). We liked the fact that the RV sites were separated from the tenting area so noise was not a problem at all. It's very quiet. I noticed NO trash around the place - either the guests pick up after themselves, or the staff picks up, but it was nice to see. As you enter down a long driveway through the associated nudist housing development, it is noticeable that the houses are nice, well maintained, and some of them are more upscale. To be frank, it does not have the atmosphere of 3rd-world poverty / trailer park like some smaller nudist venues do that we have visited (though the members there were generally also very nice people).

We got their basic hamburger and fries. They were both FANTASTIC! The burger was more like a homemade hamburger, than what you'd get at a restaurant and nothing like any hamburger I've purchased for more than twice the cost. The fries were perfect: crisp but not dry. We were so impressed we got two more burgers that night. This time we upgraded to their "Babe" burger. This time we weren't starving but we enjoyed them just as much. This place is a great example of the good parts of North Idaho: nice people, surprisingly tasty food and just a little bit rough around the edges. My family and I will be stopping by whenever we're in the area.

Every year my extended family gets together for a family X-mas near Coeur d'Alene that is in the…read moresummer or fall since we can't get together over the holidays. This year my mom discovered Praeder Ranch Resort. It was the perfect location for us. There are several family members with campers; the resort offers tent, partial and full sites to accommodate everyone. There is a lodge with wonderful rooms for everyone else (where we stayed). There is an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and a huge hot tub. Also offered is a game room, a great library, a gym and outdoor activities such as shuffle board, volleyball, basketball, frisbee golf, etc. We found trails to walk around to get some outdoor exercise. The lodge is well maintained and very clean; my wife and I very much enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna. Jeff and Tracy were wonderful and took good care of the entire extended family that was there. It's a little out of the way, but worth the trip. We shall definitely be back.

Our weekend was great as always, but made better by Tracy and Jeff the hosts of the ranch. They were so accommodating and friendly. We all gathered at a camp spot for meals and fun. This ranch was perfect since some camped and some not. I highly recommend the ranch for a peaceful get away or a large gathering. They really need to get the word spread out about this place.

But you're basically in a wooded area away from the lake, proper, so the view is pretty much....just the camp, unless you hit the trails. Lot's of families with younger kiddos, fire rings blazing between buddy sites, and the nice laughter of folks enjoying the experience. In that regard, if you are senior RVers, and like peace & quiet, you may want to find another place, unless you mid-week camp. Noticeable leveling issues, and it's downhill as you park, so chock up your tires and have all your requisite gear. We liked the place, and will definitely book again, but we are not bothered by others being loud around us if they are having safe fun. Note, there were some pretty big rigs there, but most all were 5th wheels. I would not attempt a super-large motor home, with a Toad...

Very clean Forest Service campground in a sort of ponderosa pine grove, right on the side of the…read moreBanks-Lowman highway. The highway isn't too heavily traveled, so the sites are fairly quiet, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tables, BBQ grills and fire rings...plus very clean vault toilets and running water. Being in view of the highway, the sites don't feel very secluded or private -- but that is more than made up for by the fact that directly across the highway is a little all-natural sandy-bottomed hot spring, right on the banks of the Payette River. As far as I know you can soak any time, day or night, in a little rectangular pool that used to be part of a bathhouse or something back in the day. We walked over from our campsite after dark, and hiked down for a very relaxing soak. This place is not hardcore, remote or rugged....but I still give it 5 stars because it's clean, beautiful and EASY! And sometimes, that's what you want! I would definitely stay here again...but if you don't want to camp out, you can use the springs for free by parking in the little day use lot at the trailhead, just across from the campground.
