I came to St. James Live about two weeks ago and was turned away because I was wearing shorts. I respected the dress code, but I was disappointed when I returned and saw multiple people wearing shorts who were allowed inside. My only request is consistency. If there's a dress code, it should be applied the same way for everyone. Aside from that, tonight's experience was outstanding. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, the live music was absolutely next level, and the service was top tier. The energy and atmosphere made for a fantastic evening. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely be back. I'll also be bringing friends and family. So if you're looking for a spot with some good music and some good vibes, this is gonna be a good choice. This venue has food and has drink and has great entertainment. Depending on what kind of night you want, this could be a good starting point or a good ending. If you're in this part of the city, it's a good spot to hit up, but I'm usually not at this part of the city, so it was new to me. The parking lot is free, and they have a couple of the things in that shopping area, so you can actually go eat and then go do a show and then maybe go to the cigar bar as well, all while your parking for free. I actually didn't eat when I went, but I had wine. I guess that speaks for itself. The wine comes out of the bottle, and it's not like it's mixed as a cocktail, so it's either really good or really bad lol. The service was okay, but it felt like for a little bit they forgot about the table. At first it didn't seem like there was a lot of organization with the servers, because multiple servers came up asking if we had been helped. That was a thing. At least the servers were really nice, even though timeliness wasn't the best. Now I'm not saying that to rain on anybody's parade as far as servers go, because customer service is important, but there was a while where we were sitting there wondering what was happening. Every server that came and talked to us and the people who seated us were super nice and very friendly and very professional, though, so I need to state that. Could have been an off night, not a big deal, but I would go back because the service wasn't bad, but I wanted to note that and be honest. Now, the main event here was the entertainment. The entertainment was awesome. I have no complaints about that young lady who was singing; she was stellar. The band was an absolute vibe. They kept it rocking for the entire set. If you see the videos, you know what I'm talking about. They're going from Anita Baker to Patricia Russian to Chad. They hit a lot of notes that will make you nod your head and tap your feet. It was interactive, somewhat, and they had really good crowd control. It was an awesome show the last time that I went, and I would go back just for the show itself. Again, see the videos in my review, and you'll see that they tore the house down. Overall, if you want a decent spot that will give you great entertainment, this is a really good choice. They have a number of performers and artists and bands that play, so you have to check and see when they're going to be there, but at the same time, you should be happy at whatever show you make it to. read more

Came here on an early Friday evening to enjoy live music for date night. Tickets can be easily purchased in advance on their website for your desired shows. I highly suggest this if a popular group/singer/band is performing as the spaces fill up fast. Having tickets ahead of time expedited our entry. We did not partake in cocktails or foo here, just wines. Our server was pleasant and responsive. The show was great. The crowd participated and music was amazing-made for a great night! The menu on Thursday was a major disappointment. The portions were very small and definitely not enough to fill you up so they need to either lower admission prices or make larger portions. I understand it was tappas but they need to do something else. The fish was good but it had too much sauce, the potatoes were so dry I sent them back, the fries weren't cooked enough so I just took them home and the side of rice was such a small scoop they may as well kept it. The customer service was decent, the restroom was clean and the music was amazing. I was hoping to enjoy my experience as much as I did last time especially since it was my birthday. Such a fun spot with great live music! Reservations: You have to make reservations in advance. If going with friends, make sure to secure seats at the same table. Parking: There is a large parking lot with free parking! Woo! Food: There's a limited menu. Make sure to order early enough before the kitchen closes. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon with pineapple salsa. My friends ordered the St. James Wings (Sweet Chili and Lemon Pepper). Everyone enjoyed their food! Drinks: I ordered a glass of wine and I enjoyed it! I'm not sure what my friends ordered, but they seemed to enjoy their drinks as well. Vibes: The live music is so much fun! The energy was bright, fun, and interactive. People were singing, dancing, and enjoying the music. People celebrating birthdays were celebrated and there were conga lines happening! My husband and I purchased ticket for the show on Sat., May 30, 2026 and when we arrived, the host informed us that my husband and I would not be able to attend because he has on shorts. My husband had on a cream linen short set and dress sandal shoes. The website list the dress code as this: Thank you for not wearing: athletic wear, hoodies, baseball caps, sneaker-like shoes, ripped clothing, provocative or bedroom attire. They need to enforce what's on the website. $120 wasted for a dress code refusal that not stated clearly on website. This would have been our 2nd time here but definitely will NOT BE RETURNING and we drove from Alabama. We will spend our money where they abide by the rules that are actually listed on site. read more

One of my favorite venues to visit while in town. St. James is perfect for solo or date nights. I've enjoyed listening to Kasper and the 911 Band and Millionairevokalz. The sound quality and production is excellent. I've never eaten there because I frequent "Louisiana Bistreaux" since it tastes just like home. Maybe one day I'll give it a shot. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We were denied entry simply because we had a trained service animal. We calmly explained that service animals are protected under federal law, but the owner personally made the decision to refuse us anyway. They then refused to refund the tickets we had already purchased, leaving us paying for something we were not allowed to use. This was not a misunderstanding, it was a deliberate decision by the owner. This business showed a complete lack of professionalism, basic legal awareness, and respect for customers. Yes yes yes! I loved visiting this gem outside of the city on my recent trip to Atlanta. This stop is going to be a must every time I come to visit. The show we saw was Christmas themed and it was everything. Not only was the show amazing, but the food was incredible. I would also come back without a show just to eat. So let's start off by saying my parking angels were with me. When they say arrive early or consider using rideshare, it's true! As soon as I pulled into the parking lot I started to get anxious because I saw the countless cars already parked on the side of the road. And it was dark! Thankfully, someone was leaving when I arrived! I paid $35 plus tax cover to sit at the bar and it was totally worth it! The band that night was Gritz & Jelly Butter. Very good band and quite entertaining to say the least. I ordered the chocolate martini because of a Yelp review and it did not disappoint! I also went ahead and ordered an appy (Vegetable Spring Rolls) despite the reviews on Yelp. And I will probably just stick with drinks next time. This is definitely a spot I look forward to visiting in the future and bringing my dad and/ or god mother. Attended my first date night at St. James live and my date and I both agreed that it was a very wonderful experience. We attend the live Tony Tatum experience show with a tribute to Debarge, Switch and Shalamar and it was awesome. Doors open at 6:00PM and we arrived early to secure a parking space and order dinner and drinks before the show started. We ordered wine and the jumbo lemon pepper wings and the food and waitress were great. We will definitely attend more shows real soon and I would definitely recommend this place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I came in from Miami wanted to check out a jazz club upon arrival we sit at the bar $40 btw to sit at a bar. The manager who hair long braids and foul teeth was so rude! I asked for a drink I was so thirsty asked if I could have a glass of water while I waited. She told be to back up while she puts her hands in my face and wait for her to serve me a drink btw she goes and attends to 3 other tables so my coke is on the counter ,I get up and grab it practically dying of thirst I drink my soda. They then got security to escort us out. Then says she's the manager when I ask to speak to one.I never have felt so disrespected by someone who is in the service industry. This was my first time going to St James Live and although I was so excited it did not live up to my expectations. We got seats that should never be sold to anyone especially for a live band experience. The seats that we had said that they were monitor view only which was a TV that had a horrible viewing of the show. The jerk chicken that I ordered was chicken with jerk sauce that tasted like A1 sauce. The rice was not cooked fully and was crunchy. I wish I could leave a better review but this was a huge disappointment for my first experience there. read more

I love live music, St. James Live did not disappoint when it came to that. My husband and I plus 2 friends attended the 9:45pm show on a Friday night, Coco Rochelle performed. Parking was horrible, the venue is located in a shopping center with several other spots that stay open late. There is free parking available if you can manage to find a parking spot in the small lot. However, there is a disclaimer on the venues website that taking a uber or lyft is advised, which would have been a great option if I didn't live close to an hour away. After circling the lot several times we chose to valet. The valet line was short but we waited 20 minutes before they checked our car in. I will assume the valet amount varies because there was no price posted and the young man asked us where we were going then said $20. I purchased my tickets on-line and not sure if the website is trash or my phone but there was a malfunction. On the website while attempting to look at the price of seats at more than one table and settling on one I was charged for 2 tables which was 4 seats. The website covers all basis and makes it clear that there will be no exchanges or refunds so I had to give the 2 extra tickets away. Upon arrival we walked in and was greeted by a friendly host and security guard. My tickets were scanned from my phone and I was told my guest could just tell them my name when they check in or I could text them the screen shot of the tickets. We were seated immediately, both tables were on the front row so no complaints with seeing the show. Lighting was dim, the ambiance was intimate and the tables were spaced nicely apart for comfort, where everyone regardless where you were sitting could see the show. This is a place for a mature crowd, they have a strict dress code which they enforce. The restrooms were very clean and decorated nicely. I can't think of a music venue in Atlanta with a better set up. The waitress was attentive and amicable. We ordered our drinks and after finding out the catch of the day was Salmon she let us know that they were out of that and basically all they had was 3 menu items pasta, BBQ chicken, or the lamb chops. My husband went with the BBQ chicken and I got a Ceasar salad with shrimp. My salad was the most expensive small salad I ever had in my life $25. The dishes are more like Tapas sizes with the small plates and little portions but the prices don't match. My salad was decent, and my husband said his dish was ok. We both had drinks I had the Dark Berry Sangria, it was ok, and my husband had a Peach bourbon drink which he liked. We asked for 2 glasses of water and was given 2 bottles of spring water which was $4 each. I'm glad we came to see Coco Rochelle, her and her band were fantastic. Customer service was excellent and seating was comfortable. If you are thinking about coming here for a show I would definitely recommend it. Just make sure you read the website carefully , there will be a 18% gratuity charge whether you see your receipt or not, if you add a second tip that's totally on you. Next time I will eat at another restaurant before coming and just get drinks while enjoying the band. read more

Went over tonight! Saw Kasper and the 911 band. What a set! These guys blew our socks off. The venue was really nice and spacious. I'm telling you, there wasn't a bad seat in the house. We ordered wings, fish tacos, and a cocktail. The food was delicious and the drinks came right on through. When the final bill came, although we had spent quite a bit, it was no where indicative of the value added for another wonderful life memory created. We went here on Friday night for Girls Night to see a band called Gritz & Jelly Butter. Our show was scheduled for 9:45pm but I would recommend that anyone planning to attend this venue arrive early about 30 mins before showtime to find parking! That's a must. This was our first time attending and needless to say I will arrive early next time to find ample parking. Once we entered St James we were pleased with our seating and the atmosphere. As for the food, I ordered fries but the person I was with ordered some type of fried rice. She mentioned that it was mushy and not tasty. The drinks are a little on the pricey side. This was my first time visiting St James Live. This venue is somewhat upscale. There was doorman, who checks your ticket. He also informed us that they prefer that folks not wear athletic shoes. I noticed that the guy who went in before us was wearing athletic shoes and several other men, once I was inside. Within ten minutes of being seated, our server arrived. They offer small plates appetizers. It's a good idea to eat before you visit here. We ordered the wings (jalapeño lemon pepper), seasoned fries and jerk chicken. The food came out after about 10 minutes. The four wings bland. The fries had no seasoning whatsoever. The jerk chicken was three small pieces which were mostly bone and served about two tablespoons of rice. The jerk sauce was delicious. The cutlery was simply a folk wrapped in napkin. There is no salt and pepper on the table. The server didn't check back to see if we were ok. We came to see Marcus Miller. The show started on time. They played for about 90 minutes. Great show!
