It was literally pouring down rain the entire weekend to the point that I just think the man above sent the flood to Atlanta for Memorial Day. This is obviously a fully outdoor event at Piedmont Park, but I'm really happy that they continued forward despite the weather. I also greatly enjoyed myself: I got artwork. I got to see The Roots perform and they are a musical group that I really love so to see them, especially for free was amazing. I got to eat some good food - the vendors and overall people were really friendly. I'm happy that even with the rain it was still a success. Definitely check it out during Memorial Day Weekend in the future.

It is hidden in the back of a burger joint... yeah I know but stick with it... it is a cool space that seats maybe 100 people, has a small stage, but is large with laughter! The owner was very nice and personable, her customer service was great. We had a blast and this is something I would definitely do again.

Interesting neighberhood with plenty of pre- and/or post- dining or drinking options. Concessions/drinks high as they are at most such venues. Clean restrooms, friendly staff. I'd definitely see another show here. I think this type of venue is best for a certain type of show--for more active shows where one might want to dance or otherwise engage a venue like The Eastern is more fitting, but for a show where you're more of a spectator absorbing the music being played this one works very well.

THe music was blasting, and on a rainy night, we walked rapidly up the steps leading into the club. Security was a tad bit tight, but for a relatively new hot spot, somethings you gotta be cool with. He actually made my cousin leave her solution at the front, not sure of why, but I am guessing maybe ppl are using those to put stuff in ppls drinks....thats the only explanation that I could create for that one. At any rate, it was 11:56 and the door guy tried to charge us $20 off top. One of my cousin's friends quickly pointed out, "Sir, it's supposed to be free before 12"-- Club Guy: "Where did you see that at" Friend: "on your website" Club Guy: "Let me go check" He pulls up the site only to see that she is absolutely right. CLub Guy "Damn, they were supposed to take that down, go ahead..." I sure was glad that she raised that point, because while this club had about a 100 ppl in the building, it was so damn massive that it looked extremely empty. When we went in there to decorate for my friend's party in VIP and HAPPY hour was in FULL THROTTLE AND THERE WAS A DOPE LIVE BAND GOING HARD AS A MUTHA...I had such high expectations... When the owner spoke to us outside and he looked good enough to eat...well, that has nothing to do with nothing. He was just fine! lmao! This place has soooooooooooooooo much potential. But, it is still brand new so I will give them a pass. It's so big and spacious. The dance floor is nice and roomy. There's DJ spinning outside on the balcony as well for a change of pace, if you aren't feeling the inside. This female bartender did me so dirty with THIS WAACCCCCCCCCCKKKK RED BULL AND VODKA SHE MADE. So, I went over to this LONG HAIRED BLONDE WHITE GUY...boy, did he redeem that selfish heffer. I went to him all night....after my 4th grey goose and pineapple, I'm sure I was trying to take him home and keep in all to myself but he must've said no. We were up in VIP in the far back corner of the club. It has it's own bar and huge open space to dance, if you down want to go on the floor. I'd rather HAVE VIP and mingle with everyone else. (otherwise, I get bored) Verdict: Da'Vinci's needs a good promoter to bring this relatively new club to life. It has everything a moderately upscale club needs except for a good crowd. I was worried about the music being too loud, but it was just right. Security took longer than expected to let us in. Doors were supposed to open at 7, didn't actually open u til 7:30. It was a nice night out so we didn't mind standing on the sidewalk. When they did let us in, security was swift and efficient. Bat tenders were great.

They were an hour and a half late getting us inside for our VIP meet and greet. The security at the…read morefront door said that it is not their responsibility to let people into the venue until entertainer says so, but don't you think that it's the responsibility of The Loft to communicate with the entertainer and make the statement they are running late. I am sure, if communication was better, then the entertainer would try to stay on some sort of schedule. Needless to say, after spending money for a VIP ticket, we were only given about 20 minutes with the entertainer and instead of the hour that we paid for.

About 50 people. 99% Indians and about half were older than 45. Most do not understand the concept of improv. The Show: We had 2 improv comedians from the LM perform for about 45 mins. The Result: The first half of their performance was mediocre. The later half was decent. Analysis: My wife and I had gone to see a show by a group of LM comedians with a couple of our friends. At that show, the same thing happened - it took them half the show to warm up. The audience at that show was small and most of the people had not been to an improv show before. So, it seems to me that if I was hiring improv comedians, I should only do it for a crowd that has seen something like this before. And for LM, they should not be taking half the show to warm up. With about 10 years of experience for their experienced comedians, they must start with being funny and by the end of the show, people should be rolling on the floors. So, all in all, rating an improv show is also about rating the audience. In our case, the audience was not ready for such a show. Thus, overall, the show is rated as average or below average.
