    Dry dirt no GRASS
    Cruz S.

More dirt than grass?!? Wow this is so upsetting & doesnt go through watering the grass daily when it needs it the most......

Very poor unprofessional grounds not kept up. I had picture to prove it. I could sell my plot. I would. I'm looking for another location. Somewhere else. God forbid my family that is there.

Witness to horrific behavior by the manager of this cemetery! In this business you would think there would be a level of compassion! This man was extremely rude to a widow who was simply asking questions related to a beautiful stone which he called a Rock, removed from her husbands grave! "He stated that the headstone is a marker and that the gravesite is not a Shrine!" $10k+ to be treated like this by this jerk! Negative stars!! So disgusted!! Nothing the bishop states in this message is accurate! https://www.sfccem.org/preplan/bishops-message

Reality pics of what Saint Francis Cemetery grounds really look like February 2023!

I am only giving one star because there is no lower option! Whoever owns, runs and manages this cemetery should be ashamed of themselves. The grounds are a disgrace all year long despite the season. Huge gopher holes, dry hard dirt, dead grass, long weeds, and sunken head stones. This is the place where everyone pays so much money to lay their loved ones to rest eternally. I have a mother, a brother and other generations of family here like many others do in our beautiful state. This is a Catholic cemetery and this what we need to see as the surrounding environment when we visit our loved ones at their resting place when we come visit, in such a disgusting disrespected way! Praise God that heaven is beautiful, because Saint Francis Cemetery obviously is more concerned about collecting the money and updating their administrative building and outer barrier walls. Shameful!!!

Rich Craven was evil and just plain rude to my elderly Mother. The vases we ordered were never put in and he tried to tell us that they were there and just covered up. BS! The grounds are an absolute mess! There was fresh dirt piled up all around our gravesites and broken sprinkler pipes. Rich Craven needs to be fired!

Then SC gave us whatever time we needed to make our decision. We had follow-up questions and we were able to get quick answers from Jennifer over the phone. We sat down with three different companies representatives before choosing Smart Cremation as we felt it was the best value. Because we travel, we chose the option that would perform cremation services no matter where we passed away, or where our remains were in the world. SC is not a full service funeral home, but provides the death and cremation services we wanted. We will have all funeral services and bereavement help through our church home and pastor. SC will provide the technical services our family will need for cremation, urns, obtaining death certificates, and notifications; then deliver everything to the family, or scatter ashes at sea if we choose that option. Best thing is, if I or our family chooses not use their services in, at any time, we get a full refund.

I can not say enough good about Smart Cremation. If you or a loved one is considering cremation, Smart Cremation should be your first choice.

My mom was divorced and even with that my father had proceeded her in death, along with my sister. So it was just me In 2018 my mom was diagnosed with dementia. She ended up living with my husband and I at that point. She lived well up until this last year when she was in her final stages of dementia. Even with this she would remind me of her wishes. My mom was in memory care her last few months. Then last month she started really going downhill. Refusing met medications and eating. The doctor recommended hospice as she dropped a lot of weight very quickly. We had expected at least a month before she would start the death process. It was actually only a few days. When she passed we called science care and they were there within an hour after she passed. The gentleman was very caring and explained it all to me. Within two days her death certificate was available for me to pick up. Once she arrived in their Long Beach location from MaderA, CA they contacted me to let me know that it would be 4 to 6 weeks once they assessed her and determined where her donation would be best for their research. About 3 weeks later we were called and mom's cremains were ready to be sent back to the family. We received her cremains 4 weeks after her passing in a simple black box with a ribbon around it. We never had to provide any money for this process. What a huge relief for our family. We are having a memorial at the school she dedicated her career to for 32 years. A tree and a bench is being dedicated in her honor. After which my self and her grandchildren and great grandchildren will spread her ashes into the Ocean outside of Catalina Island as per her wishes. Legally done of course. I am deeply grateful for Science Care for making this process worry free for me and my family. Thank you....

From the very beginning, their team treated our family with professionalism, compassion, and genuine kindness. I would like to acknowledge the staff who supported us, Tabitha, an African American woman, a Hispanic woman, and an African American man. Each of them showed patience, respect, and professionalism while assisting our family. Their kindness did not go unnoticed. I understand that working in this field can be emotionally demanding. Funeral homes interact with grieving families every day, often during some of the most painful moments of their lives. Despite that, this team remained calm, supportive, and compassionate throughout the entire process. They truly showed us grace and care during a time when we needed it the most. Antonio was very close to me I helped raise him from the time he was 10 years old, so seeing him there broke me to my core. The staff checked on us, offered comfort, and made sure we felt supported. I truly felt the love and care they extended to our family. I cannot thank them enough for the way they helped us navigate such a heartbreaking situation. If you are ever in need of funeral services, I would recommend this funeral home. Please remember that the people who work there are helping families through deep grief every day, so showing them a little grace and patience means a lot. Thank you again to Tabitha and the entire team for your kindness and professionalism during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. My grandmother passed away on April 26th and prior to her passing, I did extensive research on funeral homes and mortuaries within the valley. I read hundreds of reviews and made many calls and Hansen just felt right. We selected Hansen to be who we would use when the need arose. A few weeks later, my grandmother peacefully slipped away. Her hospice team made contact with Hansen Desert Hills and the process was seamless and professional. Two days after her passing, we went to the Desert Hills location to make arrangements with Cami. Nothing felt pressured or sales-driven, as we had experienced years prior at another funeral home when my grandfather passed away. We had many variables at play, including a burial trust and plans for an out of state interment, and Cami navigated everything perfectly and expertly. We also interacted with Charlii the receptionist during this process and she was wonderful as well. We picked my grandmother's remains up the following week and had a lovely walk through Hansen's memorial garden. It was all very peaceful and again, just felt right. While we already had a mortuary in mind, we had no idea which cemetery to use. I set up a bunch of meetings and planned visits within the days right after my mother had passed, and I was quite disappointed with most of those we visited. I experienced poor customer service, a cemetery that didn't see very well kept, an inconvenient place to visit or some other issue. When I came across Paradise Memorial Gardens, I was extremely pleased with how well they communicated, their excellent customer service, and the layout and ease of visiting the cemetery. I had reached out to Dan and quickly heard back from him. I had told him what exactly we were looking for in terms of a location, stone, and service, and he certainly rose to the occasion to ensure that we had the date and time of the funeral and later an unveiling. He explained the prices and answered many questions that my family members and I had asked. Dan was responsive whether we were connecting right before the funeral or in the months that followed when planning an unveiling. For such a stressful time, I was pleased to have someone we made a connection with to reach out to. The actual Paradise Memorial Gardens cemetery is laid out nicely. Instead of other cemeteries where stones are all sticking up out of the ground, many of the stones are flat on the ground where they blend in with the nature. My mother's stone is near a big tree, which provides some shade when I visit her in hotter months. There is a small lake where swans and Canadian geese like to roam. For an interesting story, ask the staff about the swans. There is also a heated and air-conditioned mausoleum onsite which I had been in only once when a friend passed away a number of years ago. There is plenty of parking on the side of the single street that circles the site. There are two entrances, one off of Shea Blvd and the other off 92nd Street. While I didn't use them, I heard good things about the Messinger Mortuaries, which is directly tied to the Paradise Memorial Gardens. I certainly encourage anyone looking for a cemetery (and possibly a mortuary) to check them out.
