Red Mountain Funeral Home(RMFH)was an excellent choice! McClain who help us out was truly a blessing with helping our family plan the service for my baby sister! I have worked in Sales and trust me, the previous funeral homes we visited prior to Red Mountain Funeral Home either had a sales pitch or just did not feel right for us. McClain was very empathetic in this time of need. He listened to us and gave us the options based on what we discussed. Never did he upsell anything. He heard exactly what we wanted and matched up the service they could offer us. In our particular situation we had to have an intimate family viewing prior to the cremation process. It was amazing how they made my sister look as she was napping while we made our last goodbye! I truly appreciate RMFH for giving us the best farewell to baby sis I could have had! RIP Barbie Gonzalez, I LOVE YOU!!! You will never be forgotten and you'll always be part of the family's story!!! When we are born, we are born into a race called life. In life we never have a set starting point and our finish line is always different from person to person. At a very early age we always pit ourselves with others we respect or we want to be like or a legend who is no longer in the race. We never are told the rules of the race. While being green in this race we sometimes are taken advantage of and learn right away or make the same mistake a few times before we learn. While others may have more shelter and are not allowed to learn the rules of life until much later down the road. Throughout this race we see others who are struggling. Some of us are out here to help from the get while others are more tentative to help or arrogant and refuse to help. These are all part of our race and learn the playbook as we go. Throughout this marathon we learn from the miles we put in and make the tweaks to become smarter/efficient! Some are quicker than others at becoming smarter/efficient and some learn at a later stage of the race. This race is hard and we somehow push through to continue racking up our miles. Maybe some quit the race and are not seen again. As we encounter the entire spectrum of feeling we advance on this race, some of us are lucky to either find the "family" we want to surround ourselves with or even luckier yet have the family that we want to be around! Once we have our family and fellow racers in our pack, we race until we can no longer race! Some of us will know as we approach the finish line while others are snatched away from the race without notice. In your personal race, I beg you to acknowledge what and who you care for and let them know! We had a good experience. My mother passed away unexpectedly on Christmas morning. They were very responsive when we called and came to pick her up in a very timely manner. My mother had prepaid for a policy in California to cremate her remains. McClain and Bridget were very helpful with this issue and it basically covered everything. Because my mom died on a holiday, everything took longer than expected. We did have to make a few follow up calls, but they were always responsive in getting back to us. This is my second time using red mountain once for my father 5 years ago and again for my brother. Brittany was and still is amazing helping my family through all the paperwork and dealing with my many phone calls every day and a million questions and even going out of her way to help . I met the owner with my dad's service and she's also very nice and friendly.we did a viewing both times and both my father and brother looked amazing and was a perfect venue for close family and friends. Hopefully I never have to use them anytime soon again but if I do I know who I'm calling. Thank you so much much to the owner and staff. read more

My dad passed away, 9:30 on a Thursday night. His preplan of a body donation company did not work out, we didn't have a backup plan. Hospice suggested Red Mountain Funeral home. The funeral home was contacted and they immediately took control of transporting my dad to their facility. The next morning when I spoke with Red Mountain they were very professional and outlined everything that needed to be taken care of paperwork wise. Everything was done through secure email, I did not need to make a trip to their location. Even with the urgency of the situation, there was no additional cost. My family & I are incredibly dissatisfied with our experience here. The room my Dad's Memorial service was nice enough but the TV provided for a photo video collage kept malfunctioning. The Customer service the two ladies behind the desk was even worse! There was no help given, not even a look of concern or care. The team didn't communicate any details with us & because we had family come in from 3 different states & multiple cities, it was very difficult to confirm important details. They arranged to have a priest come to say a prayer. We waited over 45 minutes & he finally showed (not even dressed) so late we were losing our guests. They are very unprofessional. If we can save one person from choosing this funeral home and the embarrassment to guests & families then, mission accomplished. Red Mountain Funeral home needs to do better! read more

Our family had a terrible experience with the Red Mountain Funeral Home. I would label the experience "traumatic." I sent the following text to our hospice social worker who had referred us to Red Mountain Funeral Home after having her own mother there in December 2020: Linda, The lady who owns the funeral home sent her husband to meet with us, and he expressed absolutely ZERO empathy for our loss. ZERO. He shoved a price list in front of my face the minute we sat down, and then he immediately informed me that I would have to pay double for transport because he believed that I sent the transporters away and required them to come back. This was a misunderstanding, I think because my mom had to have two transport people due to narrow hallways. When I softly, professionally explained the misunderstanding and offered to call the transport company to clarify, the funeral director's husband became hostile, refused to tell me the transport company name or phone number, and said I was accusing the transporters of LYING. This was jaw-dropping, because that was not my tone whatsoever. My family just sat there, stunned. The funeral director's husband was then additionally hostile with me about our coming in to the funeral home on a Sunday at 2:00 PM. When I, again, softly, politely, explained that his wife, the funeral director, had told me that Sunday at 2 pm would be the best time for them, he then became even more hostile and said that I was accusing his wife of lying. It was like a Saturday night live sketch about the worst funeral home visit ever. Honestly, it was unbelievable. Apparently his wife had tried to reach me by phone and text to ask me to switch my funeral home appointment to a day more convenient for her---but I had not received the messages because my phone was turned off during to my being bereaved and overwhelmed with people calling and texting. (As the funeral home should well understand.) My stepsister was so distraught about all this that she got up and walked out. I felt terrible for my sad little thin stepfather who had to sit there and listen to this when he is barely coping with the death of his wife. I remained even keeled and kind, and after a little more interaction asked how much it would cost me to have my mother removed from the premises immediately. The answer was $150, so I pulled out my checkbook and began writing a check. Honestly--my thought was that if they treat grieving family members that way, what might they do to my poor mother who was in their refrigerator!?! Linda, I'm sure these Red Mountain people went way out of their way to impress you with your service to your mother because you are a hospice social worker and a source of revenue for them. But there is no way these people should be serving grieving families. The funeral home facility is shabby---but the way they treat people in grief is even shabbier. I am having my mother transferred to the "wise choice" funeral home today, and they have done a beautiful job communicating with me. Please do not allow this to happen to any other grieving families. Please do not refer people to Red Mountain in the future, and please definitely let the entire homestead hospice company know what my experience has been there. I have already contacted the hospice company medical director about this, as well as a social worker I worked with at Hospice of the Valley in December. The funeral director's husband is not a funeral director. He let us know that he is studying for an insurance exam and we were an interruption to his day. You need to be able to refer families to a funeral home that is fully staffed enough that a trained empathetic person can be present when the funeral director is not available. Not a hostile husband who does not want to be there. EDIT 3/16/21 To his credit, the man did not accept my check, and allowed me to transfer my mother without my paying the $150. I'm thankful for that. read more

You never want to be able to leave a review on a funeral home because chances are you have lost a loved one. My father passed so sudden and unexpected so we were hit with the heartbreaking tasks at finding a funeral home. Where there is so much competition there is nothing and no one that came close to the empathy and compassion the staff here at Red Mountain Funeral Home gave us. We first met with Diana who is the owner who was amazing and greeted us with the upmost respect and sympathy. We felt like we have known her for years. The. We proceeded to meet with Darren who walked us through the arrangement process step by step and whom we also felt like we have known for years. We also had met Adriana and McClain and they were also wonderful and very kind and patient and it was all genuine and sincere. They were so patient with us and even accepted our crazy suggestions with open arms when we asked for them to cut my dads beard (my dad was so proud of his beard) and some lockets of his hair before he was sent for cremation. My father was an organ bone and tissue donor. So his body had been through a lot with the donation process. Darren and the staff had their work cut out for them I'm sure but they presented my handsome father just as we remembered him. He looked so peaceful as if he was only sleeping. They even offered for the immediate family to go view him the day before his services to make sure we were ok with the way he was presented. Their space is so beautiful and serene as well and can hold about 80 people. We needed a bigger space so they handled the transportation to and from the church to which we were so grateful for them that they did that for us. Losing a loved one is to say the least so very hard devastating and heartbreaking, but the staff at Red Mnt Funeral home made the arrangement process so easy for us and myself and my entire family will forever be grateful for them. read more

I am writing this a few days past my dads 1st Birthday after he passed away. The reason why I am leaving 1 star (I would Negative 1 thousand if possible.) Red Mountain funeral home gave the ashes of my father to the person who was disinherited from our family, even the Last Will and Testament stated the same. When I called requesting the paperwork they released the gentleman I spoke with was rude, denying originally to email me the paperwork until I stated that I will be there in person, he finally emailed. I have now had to spend over 10 thousand dollars attempting to get my fathers ashes back so he can finally be buried like he requested in his Will, so maybe he can finally rest in peace. Our entire family, friends and loved ones have not been able to pay their final respects or say goodbye. I have no place to go and Visit him on all our special days. Being a daughter and not being able to have that special place to take his granddaughter (who was his favorite little human) is truly heartbreaking. Red Mountain funeral home truly caused a trauma on my entire family hearts. As I am writing this my father is still not home, still not being able to be buried at the veterans memorial, did not get his 21 gun salute for all his years served in the military or his years of public service with law enforcement. My hope is nobody has experience this type of pain while they are dealing with the loss of a loved one during one of the most difficult times of life. read more
