My tween daughter lives that Ardene's is now giant and in the old Winners location. Best addition was the rethinking of the Primary Care Network here which makes these invaluable mental and physical health resources much more accessible to the public. The food court continues to be utterly disappointing - ever since Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory left, there's not much for me to get excited over. There's quite a few empty or still under renovation spots in the mall as well. I think fellow Yelper, Joy K. accurately portrayed the Black Friday event in her review so I won't go into as much detail but I will say that it was a huge disappointment and they changed the program or the event specifics AFTER tickets had already been sold. There were no special deals for the attendees only and people waited in line more than 30 minutes to get into the roped off area for a glass of sparkling fruit juice, chocolate, charcuterie board, and to fill out the ballots for giveaways. Nothing was as originally advertised and left a really bad taste in my mouth for both the misrepresentation (almost bait & switch) and then the extremely poor customer service. Overall, there's been some positive design updates to St. Albert Centre but there's a lot of room left for improvement. 2 stars on Yelp is described as "Meh, I've experienced better" on their ratings guidelines and that would most definitely be the case here.

Yes there were a few red flags but majority of my visit to this location was okay. one other thing it is very difficult to identify who is an employee due to the employees not having name tags. The staff is on top of cleaning up things and keeping the floors clean from all the mud that comes on the shoes from off the street. My only complaint is that I feel there could be a better selection of stores and options. Some of the stores though offer good pricing and good discounts. I will continue to shop here and hope that they get a better selection in the future.

The food court was clean and they have Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds for coffee options in this mall. I have lived by Londonderry Mall my entire life. I've watched it go through many changes and ups &…read moredowns. Before the mall was renovated in 1992, it was very dark and gloomy, but now it's very bright and more modern-looking. The makeover didn't really benefit this mall that much. In fact, in became pretty lame. When Wal-Mart moved here, this brought in tons of traffic, and I would say it's what kept this mall alive. After Wal-Mart left, many great stores closed down, including the GAP. (I still can't forgive them for taking it away from me!) This mall was stagnant for quite some time, but over the past five years, this mall has been slowly improving once again. Some of the best stores are HMV, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Game City, Le Chateau, Payless. Winners, Army & Navy, Coles, Spasation, Shoppers Drug Mart, Purdy's, Save-on-Foods, and The Great Room Company. The Bay is here too, but it's probably the worst one (minimal selection) in the entire city. Oh, and I almost forgot--there's a Library here as well! The mall's food court is the best, since it has big screen TVs, a water wall, and all the fast-food favourites. There's Taco Time, New York Fries, Edo, Booster Juice, Arby's, Orange Julius, Opa!, A&W, and lots more. McDonald's and Second Cup are also in the mall. The customer service area, located in the centre of the mall, is a great place to come for a rest. There's many flat-screen TVs and large comfy chairs and couches. Londonderry Mall has always had a reputation of bringing in many famous people--usually it's something for the kids or a band for the teenagers. When I was a kid, and before the mall was renovated, I saw Richard Simmons! Woohoo. Lucky me. Five years ago, I would have given this mall a two-star rating for sure. Maybe now I am giving it four instead of three, since it's my neighbourhood mall (I'm probably slightly biased), but it has improved considerably. Londonderry Mall is no Kingsway, but it's still pretty awesome.

I was back in the mall yesterday when I saw Static Moda's window sign announcing a sale. Lucky day, they had a few of that same dress on the rack. I asked the lady (manager) if she could check for a size medium for me. as I could not reach the rack. She told me she found a medium and she brought it to the counter as I was still looking around. Finding nothing else for me, I went to pay. The lady had the dress neatly folded and she put it in a bag. This morning I removed it from the bag but it looked so big. I tried it on and it fell off my shoulders. I checked the size and it is an XL, extra large! I returned to the store with receipt to get the right size, medium. I though it was just a mistake on the lady's part. A man was behind the counter today, covering while the lady was out at the moment. I told him the problem, asked him to check the rack and get me a medium for exchange. He said there are none. oh. Huh? What the ...? I know they will NEVer give a refund but I told him I want a refund as I felt that I'd been tricked. He said to wait until the lady returned; said he couldn't do it, even though he claimed to be the store owner. Upon her return to the store I told her then too. She said she gave me a medium yesterday. I was almost stunned and told her to look at the size herself. It's an XL.Then the man asked where the tag was, then showed us white deodorant marks on an armpit. He said I had removed the tag and worn the dress and called me dishonest! Then, she started in on me. At that point I called her a liar. The lies about putting a USED dress on the rack for sale, and telling me she'd found a medium for me when in fact she had NOT. I opened my coat so show my 109 lb. 5'2" body and asked them if they think I could even wear an XL without it falling off me yesterdayould wear that dress, size XL without it falling off. Things went from bad to the worst retail experience I've ever had! He pushed the dress back at me and told me to leave the store or he'd get Security. Yes, do that I said. I want a witness to this B S. Then he said he would not ask Security to come. Well, that says something too, doesn't it? This store operates horribly. The manager and the owner should not be allowed to sell retail, as they have no principles, no ethics and no honest business practices. They should be ashamed, but with their modus operandus I expect they never know shame. Static Moda should be banned from this mall and all others too.

We've been…read moreeagerly awaiting the opening this past week because their banner outside read: Chinese, Dim Sum, Bubble Tea! Yep, that's right - St. Albert now has Dim Sum and Bubble Tea!!! The location is in the old Banana Leaf Restaurant next door to Simply Donair in the same strip mall as Dairy Queen. We were greeted by a friendly family who let us choose anywhere in the restaurant to sit - kiddos opted for the booth/bench option. The decor was modern and clean. The menu variety REALLY surprised me and all Dim Sum is cooked to order rather than coming around on carts. We decided we might as well go hard and try stuff from all parts of the menu. First off, we ordered bubble teas: Fresh fruit mango dairy free with sago, fresh fruit peach dairy free with sago, and milky matcha green tea with sago. ALL WERE EXCELLENT. The waitress waited to see if I liked he matcha because she warned that it's not very sweet and said she could make it sweeter if I preferred but I'm a matcha monster and this was exactly what I was looking for :-) Next up, they brought out a couple of small appetizers for us to share in celebration of their opening - spring roll, tempura shrimp, and a dry garlic rib: all were excellent with my 7 year old requesting more of each! We decided to share the dinner for 2 which came with spring rolls, chicken fried rice, 2 bowls of soup (won ton and hot & sour were both decent) and 2 entree choices: we selected Honey Pepper Shrimp (DIVINE) and sliced Szechuan beef. Both of the mains were good and flavourful with a good amount of sauce. Everyone in our group noted that the use of onions was pretty heavy and more peppers, corn, carrots, etc. would be nice. I'd say the dishes were at about 1/3 white onions - usually this is a deal breaker for me but the sauces and meat quality were superb. Next up was our never ending sampling of Dim Sum: Pork Buns - $4.99 good but smaller than most; my daughter didn't care for them here and neither did Gramma (not sure why). Sticky Rice (Excellent but it only comes with 2 small leaves for $4.99 - this could be vastly improved by adding a 3rd one for that price or putting more rice in each banana leaf. Literally, the banana leaves had less than 1/2 of the amount of rice you would have at Jumbo). Beef skewers - not as pictured and not up to snuff in my opinion for $4.99 for 2. Green Onion Cake - $4.99 a standard that my kids will insist on every visit though I prefer mine to be a little crunchier. Pan fried meat dumplings - $4.99 standard but they don't bring red wine vinegar or whatever that sauce is most Dim Sum places serve with it. Curried Squid - $4.99 Excellent and tender but I would LOVE the sauce to be a bit thicker and more plentiful to pour all over my rice :-) We'd order 80% of the food again and to be able to have Dim Sum in St. Albert any day of the week at any time, we will most DEFINITELY be returning here. Even if Mom and Dad want regular Chinese food, the kids in our house will jump for joy at Sticky Rice, Green Onion Cakes, and Bubble Tea! Service was friendly but slow tonight with our dishes coming as much as 60 minutes apart - YIKES! But I won't fault them on this as they work out their bugs, hopefully in the future we will get things (like rice) before the rest of the meal. Cheers Wok House, can't wait to come back! P.S. They deliver, too!
