I had Rays wok for the very first time after high recommendations last night oh my God was it to die for the ginger beef was amazing so meaty not woody or hard to chew through like most places the dry ribs were incredible so much meat. The portion sizes were huge we got the wor wonton soup and it was really good. My two girls absolutely loved the Cantonese chow mein also highly recommended lots of meat and noodles. Definitely will be having to get this again is worth the drive to Spruce Grove to have. read more

Good food. Almond chicken was perfect and their chicken fried rice was one of the best I've had in a while. Only complaint is they close too early. Should extend their hours at least on the weekends. I always crave Chinese food 20 minutes after they close. read more

Ignore the location and enter. Some of the best Chinese we've had anywhere and we've done some travelling and eating! The menu is "canadianized" for sure for the locals but the taste is fresh and quality. The ginger beef is top notch. Vegetables are always crisp and perfectly wok-fried. Ignore all others claiming to serve Chinese cuisine and take a trip to the Cossack Inn. You will not be disappointed. read more

We have been very happy with the quality of the food at Ray's Wok for some time. It has been fresh and was always very flavourful. Tonight we placed an order for pickup. Something we have done many times in the past. Tonight's food was awful. Over cooked, tough, lacking in flavour etc. We ate some of the order and decided the rest was not eatable. I took it back. I was met with a very unpleasant woman who argued with everything I said. She said we had taken too long to get it home and eat it. Wrong ! She also said we ate part of the food so there obviously wasn't a problem !! How else are we supposed to sample the meal ? A male came from the kitchen and started a shouting match. He said if We wanted good food we should eat in and not order takeout ??!! Wow, what an attitude. Never again ! What a disappointing reaction to a genuine concern from an otherwise very satisfied, long term customer who had a valid complaint about one small order. WOW !! Good luck. read more

Arguably the best Chinese food in the area. It seems they know it though. All prices just increased by $1 on every item. In order to get any variety, you now spend $80. It's good, but not that good. We will look at other options next time. read more

Wow. This is a revision to my previous good rating. Tonight my takeout was disgusting and virtually inedible. The worst part was the peach shrimp. Came with exactly 4 slices of peach and the shrimp were deep fried balls if dough with a small piece if shrimp hidden inside. Horrid horrid horrid. Now I am looking fir a new Chinese place. Don't let the decor put you off -- a chinese restaurant in an old Irish pub in the Cossack Inn?! The lunch buffet is a really good variety of chinese food -- always great peel and eat shrimp, ginger beef and assorted other dishes. The eat-in dinner for two with the 'nest' is delicious! Excellent food, even though it's in a dumpy place. Prices are good, and servings are generous. We've been there twice this year, and ordered takeout once. Even with the variety of things we ordered, we'd still order them all again. One of my Chinese food tests is to try the hot and sour soup.. it was both hot, and sour. The broth was tasty, the right thickness, and there was lots of chicken and tofu in it. read more

Lunch buffet is well worth the money even though it is small. Lots of wonton soup and chicken wings so who needs anything else.

The food is okay, it's on par with other Chinese food resturaunts. The cost is outrageous. My wife and I ordered 4 dishes the other night and paid over $60. One of the four dishes was rice and the other three were nothing special warranting the high cost. We have ordered from here a few times and the cost goes up $1/dish everytime they make a reprint of their menu. Put it this way Chinese use to be an affordable family dinner option, now you can have fine dinning for the same cost. Like a prime rib dinner with a side of crab. If they put in a quality cut of meat, I could possibly understand the higher cost. Very disappointed, the cost per dish has increased over 1.5 years from $10.95 to $13.95 and the quality of ingredients has remained the same. read more

Poor service. Got the order wrong. Called to get the rest of the order and they didn't want to make it. Had to tell them that we were paying for it and still had to beg for them to make it. Will never eat there again. read more

Ok, this is my first written review, however I often work away from home so I am forced to eat out at least 3 or 4 times a week. I use this site religiously as I am always looking for a better place to eat. So yesterday afternoon my 11 &12 year old girls went to Edmonton to watch The can vs China FIFA. We arrived back in Spruce by 9:20 pm and decided on a late dinner of Chinese food. We normally eat at Bing's but I had recently heard from a friend that Ray's Wok had great food. We were sitting in the dining room by 9:28 pm. A waiter approached us after a couple short minutes and asked if we were picking up take out. I said no, we are going to dine in. He then said that they close at 10pm and that we could only order take out. I asked him to please clarify as the schedule on the door says they were open until 10. Nope, no food in dinning room. I am not sure what time the dining room stops serving food as he seemed uninterested in offering any more explanation and we were running out of time. We left and went to Bing's. We arrived at Bing's at 9:43 pm, they close at 10. I asked the young lady at the register if we still had time to dine in, she said ABSOLUTELY!! With a smile on her face. My family and I will continue going to Bing's from now on. read more

I have been a regular customer for over 10 years. I always order the same items, whether or not we eat in order take out. Twice in the past 4 months I have had foreign objects in my food, purchased as take out. Both times the foreign object has been investigated by Alberta Health services. The first time I chalked it up to being an accident the second time it was obvious that someone in the kitchen contaminated the food on purpose. A young child could have suffered life threatening injuries if they had ingested either of the foreign objects. After having this happen a second time I feel the need to let others know to be very careful ordering from this restaurant who in the past had my full support. read more

i recently ordered take out on a busy Sunday evening. I was told the food would be ready in 30 min. I arrived on time but had to wait an additional 30 min for my food. The two young people manning the front were clearly run off their feet this evening, and I felt bad for them, but they need to learn to address the numerous customers waiting for their take out orders. A friendly smile would help too. The food was good, but not fantastic. The phone rang many times while I waited and I hope they told these people that the wait was an hour. read more

Awesome food and very fast take out! We requested gluten free and they were able to accommodate. I would have thought Bing's would be the place to go for Chinese food in Spruce, but Ray's is very good- awesome shrimp and chicken dishes from what we have tried so far! read more

***WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE ****im a pretty laid back person and I hate to complain about things like this but I have never experienced anything like this before I called in for delivery when dinner arrived it was not the correct order .. When I called to let them know the lady on the phone argued and started raising her voice at me.. I again tried to explained to her that this was not what I ordered and that all I would like is to have what I ordered sent over to me she then Hung up the phone while I still speaking I could not believe the service .. I mean I payed for my meal including the delivery free and I did not receive what I had ordered and then when I called to simply deal with the situation and have the correct one sent instead she raised her voice at me and hung up the phone on me ..
