November 16/24. WHAT HAPPENED BING'S? Went to Bings for Chinese food and was sorely disappointed. The food dishes are new, and at least 20% smaller ! Less food, and unfortunately the price didn't go down 20%. The food used to be worth the drive from Edmonton but now, I don't think so. And unfortunately besides the smaller food quantity, every dish seemed heavily salted on this night. Truly a big disappointment. read more

I was introduced to it by friends who grew up in the area and have eaten here since they were children. Bing's IS the greatest! One of my closest friends growing up was Chinese. I had many, many home-cooked Chinese meals there; needless to say I know good Chinese food well. That being said, Bing's in Stony Plain is THE BEST Chinese food restaurant! There are also non-Chinese cuisine items available on the menu. I've had a few items and they're really good! Bing's is owned and managed by the current mayor, who has been there several times I've been there despite having a full-time job as our busy mayor. Every employee I have encountered has been very kind, helpful, courteous, and friendly. I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to processed food as it gives me horrible diarrhoea. I can assure you that the food at Bing's Stony Plain is made from scratch! You can easily ask for customisations such as no MSG in your meal - something I do as I am sensitive to it. The restaurant is older, quiet, and everything isn't brand new and shiny, BUT it is VERY clean. The bathroom stalls are VERY small and really could use to be enlarged. I bent to pick something up that I dropped and banged my head on the mobility grab bar. My head hurt for a week. The women's washroom (I am a woman and have not seen the men's washroom) does not have a wheelchair accessible stall and is too small for even walker or cane users. The room is small with two super-tiny stalls. There is an ashtray right next to the door to the restaurant, which means people are smoking RIGHT next to the door - violating the legal distance away that they should be from businesses; not to mention polluting the air for us asthmatics who want to get inside. I've asked people to move and had mixed reactions. I know the restaurant cannot control the actions of its guests but it can remove the ashtray and put signs up asking people to move away from the entrance to smoke. read more

My boyfriend and I were craving Chinese food last night. Normally me go to Bing's in Spruce Grove but they were closed for the holiday. We decided to try out the Stony Plain location because they had the same menu, so we assumed it would be the same. Boy were we wrong! We were extremely disappointed in our take out(we have never dined in.) we order Szechwan beef, lemon chicken, Shang hai noodles and mixed greens. Everything was literally soggy. There was no texture to anything except for the veggies and the meat was way over dressed. We normally love the lemon chicken but when we opened the container it was literally mush. We love Bing's in Spruce, but we will NEVER go back to this location. read more

My in-laws have been eating and loving Bings for a very long time. And they've got me hooked as these restaurants being the best Americanized Chinese food in the area. We usually just go to the Spruce Grove restaurant a couple of times a year, but this time we decided to order food from the Stony Plain No.1. What an absolute disappointment. The lemon chicken was disgustingly mushy. Deep-fried wontons were burnt. Chicken fried rice was hard like it was old and sitting out. The sweet & sour ribs, ginger beef, shanghai noodles were just gross. The only really edible food was the deep fried shrimp and chicken balls. Maybe the restaurant had an bad day. Or maybe the Stony Plain restaurant has gone to shit. I don't know if I want to try the restaurant again when we can drive a tiny bit further for better food. read more

It was decent, the egg rolls and sweet and sour boneless pork were the best of our meal. If I lived here, I'd probably eat here more.

We went there 7-17-15 for dinner. Not knowing what to expect, as we are not from the area. This place came highly recommended by the camp ground we are staying at - Camp N Class. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, bountiful and had leftovers. Staff very friendly. read more
