5 stars for the amazing, wonderful, beautiful, view of the colosseum in the background!! But unfortunately 3 stars for the food. I ordered the eggplant pizza, it was pre-made and sitting behind a glass window ready to be heated upon order. We were sitting outside on the patio and didn't realize the pizza was pre-made, until we went inside to use the restroom. The pizza I ordered was actually pretty bland. Hopefully, this means it had less salt in the ingredients and it was healthier for me!! Overall, the food was not bad, nor was it great, just okay. Honestly, I didn't care about the quality or taste of the food, bc I was sitting on a patio enjoying the colosseum. The view of the Colleseum: PRICELESS! I don't care if this is a tourist trap...reasonable prices, decent food, nice service, and a gorgeous view of the Colleseum. We sat outside in the heat under shade, but the AC inside was running well. Big pizzas too; two could easily share one pizza! 2.50 euro 1 liter of water bottle 9 euro Pizza Romanaccia - Mushrooms and Sausages...pretty good! 7.50 euro Pizza Napoli - Anchovies, it was ok, but if you're a huge anchovy fan you'll like it. 4 euro Café Freddo - Iced expresso...good, strong, but pricey! Maybe its not a tourist trap, some Italian dudes on their Vespas did come and go for some food and drink. I dunno. 20% service charge if you sit down...damn Italians! I'm glad to have found this place. After a long day of being a tourist in Rome, my group was extremely hungry and wanted to grab something to eat before siesta time. We needed to grab something to eat fast before people got hangry and cranky! The restaurant had two sides. One side with the bar for people who just want to grab a quick bite to eat and drink and the other side that is more a sit down restaurant. The restaurant side is clean, nicely decorated and quite spacey. The toilettes were clean which is a plus since many of the other toilettes around town aren't so pleasant. Food was quite tasty here. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I like how the food (pizzas, paninis and antipasto) were on display. It was nice to see the food in person rather than just a menu. Located right by the coliseum it is the perfect place to eat after checking out the historic Colliseum. read more

This place is beyond this planet beautiful. My group came here after a locals recommendation. Honestly, had I been alone, I probably wouldn't have stopped here, because it's located right aside a popular tourist location. Although, the restaurant was jam packed with Italian-speaking locals, which needless to say was a very good sign. We opted to sit outside on the patio, so we could have an iconic view of the colosseum while we ate. The service was very prompt and friendly. I started with a piece of bruschetta. Bruschetta has always been my all time favorite appetizer, so I was thrilled to see it on the menu. It came out within a matter of minutes. This bruschetta was unlike anything I've ever eaten in my life! The bread was beyond fresh and had a bite that wasn't too soft, but also wasn't too tough. The tomatoes were the most ripe, flavorful tomatoes I've ever tasted in my life. No exaggeration, this might've been the best thing I've ever eaten ever. For my main course, I ordered the mushroom tagliatelle. The noodles were wonderfully tender and were beyond soft. The pastas sauce was a thick mushroom gravy with chunks of porcini mushroom. It. Was. So. Good. The sauce was salted perfectly, and was absolutely bursting with flavor. Honestly, I could eat this plate of pasta for every meal for the rest of my life and not get tired of it. After finishing my meal, I ventured inside to take a glance at their gelato. If they could create that much magic with bruschetta, I could only imagine what they could do with gelato! I got a large sorbet with both pineapple and mango. This wasn't my favorite gelato on my trip, but it was still pretty damn good! It was soft and creamy, just how gelato should be. I would easily have it again, but once again, it isn't the best gelato Rome has to offer. The service absolutely sucked!!! We waited for 30 minutes, no one attended to us and they weren't even busy. We finally got up and wanted to buy some candy stacked by the register. The lady at the cash register is very very rude. She treated us as if she was doing us a favor for taking our money. Terrible terrible attitude! She needs to get fired but I think she owns the place. Great location for the tourist that has been walking for whole day. Nice service. Mixed fruit ais amazing, sweet and flavorful. Tourists beware... they may over charge. I actually came here in the morning for a quick bite before a tour. For 2 croissants, a bottle of water and some mints I was charged 14 euro. Just cause they are next to the Colloseum they feel they can charge whatever they want. Not cool. And their bathrooms... no toilet seats. (You might have noticed some places don't have toilet seats.) It was not busy and almost all of the take away food was gone so I sat down to order table service. Totally ignored then when someone finally brought a menu he just walked away even though I said I knew what I wanted. Servers walked by so I walked out. One of them said to me at the door 'you are doing good but we are not'. What the heck is that supposed to mean? Great view of the Coloseo from the patio. There was great food and service. They provide outdoor heaters that help if it is a bit chilly out on the patio. They include the gratuity on your bill and was different if you were dining inside or outside. The pasta, soup, and tiramisu we ordered were all very tasty. This place is essentially there to overcharge you for breakfast on your way to the Colosseum. Went in and asked for counter service for a caffe espresso and a brioche (because we know table service and take away costs more here). Got told to see the cashier who then overcharged us for takeaway service and was very dismissive when we explained that was not what we wanted. As always, avoid cafes near main tourist attractions like this. We backed ourselves into it because we were in a hurry but would never return here. read more

Went in for a gelato for my children. The female running the register was yelling at people to pay first before removing items from a fridge. That should have been a sign to stay away. Nonetheless, I made a purchase for four gelatos. We asked to sample a couple of flavors. When we asked for the second sample, the waiter became upset and rudely told us he was busy and could not give us any samples, even though there was no one in line. When I went to speak to the manager about the waiter's rudeness, the manager began bad-mouthing me to the same waiter in Italian, thinking that I did not understand Italian. However, I understood every word. When I confronted the manager, she began yelling that the waiter was busy with a pizza in the back and had no time to give samples. I have visited many places and I have never given a bad review, but this place warrants the worst review. Stay far away!! read more

This place is in a prime location and has the most disappointing food in all of Rome. There food was prepared via microwave in front of customers... No one was to greet you when you arrive. Granted the server was overwhelmed for being the only waitstaff, however she was absolutely disrespectful and rude... while she thought I was an ignorant American I actually understand Italian fluently and the fact she had the nerve to roll her eyes and talk badly about me and my family in front of our faces she's lucky we didn't walk out for that..... we traveled all day with no food and was absolutely starving... lesson learn location is not everything! read more

Our mistake was not asking for price, a 100ml lemonade was charged at 12 Euros, however when we argued with them they decreased it to 6 Euros. Not just overpriced, but literally a rip off with rather poor quality. Average tea for 7 Euro a cup and a piece of cake (dry and just not good) another 7 euro. Nice little restaurant near the Colosseum. Sitting outside you have a great view over the Colosseum and the Constantin archery. Lovely Aperol Sprizz, snacks and nice waitors. Regarding the distance to one of Rome's most favorite sights the prices are really good. read more
