The restaurant ambiance is in a busy alley way so there is quite a bit of commotion from all sides. We did not have to wait very long if 5 minutes. Great location for a quick bite to eat. In the beautiful heart of Roma, Italy is the best restaurant, in my opinion however, I do believe many would agree with me as this was one of the busiest restaurants I could find in all of Rome. We discovered this restaurant walking to another restaurant. Walking through what can only be described with what looks like an alleyway that was brightly lit up with a lot of restaurants and stores, and a very busy walk way that connects a lot of the locals and Taurus to shops and touristy spots such as the Trevi fountain. Outside had a lot of seating. It was beautiful weather. They had a long walkway filled with tables that were full and in front of the entrance, they were tables outside along the walkway, and there was inside seating. The outside was well lit with table lamps, and outside lighting. The front entrance was beautifully decorated with flowers. They had what I would call a restaurant MC someone who is interactive and brings in the crowd and is quick to get guests a seat at this very popular restaurant. The toilets are small, but this seems to be very common in Italy and most don't have a toilet seat. The service was amazing. We knew instantly we wanted to eat at this restaurant as I stated above there's a gentleman who was there both nights that we went to this restaurant who was quick to greet and get you prepared for a table. The service was quick. The food arrived quick to the table, and it was hot. The drinks were prompt to come to the table. Most of the employees spoke Italian and English. Everyone was nice but very business oriented and fast. It was a high volume restaurant so everybody was moving quick. Both nights we attended the restaurant, we got Aperol spritz and it was the best drinks we had in Rome. My mom got the gnocchi which was perfectly cooked in a meat sauce, and dollop of mozzarella. The roasted potatoes were cooked to perfection. They were soft and seasoned to taste. I ordered Caico e Pepe. It was the best fresh pasta and the right amount of sauce. When you plan your trip to Roma, Italy , you should definitely put this restaurant on your list. I can guarantee that you will not have any regrets. Came here coz We were near the Pantheon and this restaurant had a really good ratings.. Definitely DO NOT recommend! Service was very slow - They took a really long time to come and take our order and also a very long time to bring the food out. And even the food was very mediocre. Carbonara was too salty. It was also not really smooth; Like as if the egg had started cooking because the pasta and cheese was not mixed quick enough so they were little clumps of cheesy egg on the pasta itself. Grilled Chicken - decently sized fillets, but they were overcooked a bit too dry. Came with some roasted potatoes on the side which not bad. Sheep Meat Skewers - Good portion size on this one cuz they were about 10 skewers but the meat was extremely dry and tough to eat. Hamburger seem to be okay because my sister and brother both hear it. It also did not come with a brand though. When it said hamburger we were expecting some kind of bun but it was just the beef patty. Artichoke appetizer was quite decent. I wanted a small meal and came across Havana. One of their employees then started to upscale me on more expensive items on their menu and rushed me to sit down inside -- red flag. They gave me a glass of champagne (wasn't sure if it was complementary) but I had the feeling they only saw me as a big dollar sign (or I should say Euro sign) so I didn't trust drinking it because I thought they would charge me anyways. After convincing them I did not want the multiple course meal, they then tried to offer me one of their most expensive seafood plate. After multiple attempts, I was finally able to order one marinara pizza with a chuckle from the waiter in disgust. For the rest of the meal, I received horrible service or lack there of service. From one visit to the next, I've seen some cafes closing down and others popping up in their place in a matter of several weeks. It's amazing how much a street corner can change in a month' time. Other places stay a staple for awhile, more prominent. This one has stayed open for a while. It's a wine bar and small restaurant with tables set outside on the cobblestone paved narrow street. Full menu is offered here: apps (antipasti), light plates (secondi), salads (insalate), pizza, soups (zuppe), entrees (primi), and sides. They even have a display case with all the ingredients for your freshly made order of Fettuccini all'Uovo (home-made pasta with one large egg for every 4oz of flour) con Porcini (with porcini mushrooms)!! A server is walking by the entrance while holding this basket displaying fresh asparagus, zucchini, red bell papers, along with porcini fungi. This house special is served with Tartufo Nero ice-cream dessert from Calabria (with fruit in the center, covered in delicious chocolate shell). Amazing. Habana also offers three prix-fixe multi-course meals for €10, €12, and €15. I'd say they are all good values! TOURIST TRAP This restaurant was awful... DUE TO POSITIVE YELP REVIEWS we decided to eat at Habana (very disappointed with yelp on this one). Right when we approached the restaurant there were employees outside trying to bring people in which is normally a red flag. Before we knew it my family and I had been rushed into the restaurant and seated. They started us off with a complimentary champagne which was very nice, but it was all downhill from there. Our waiter was very rude and would not take the time to explain the menu to us. I ended up ordering the pesto pasta. It was frankly gross. My pasta was very rubbery and soaked in a poor quality oil. My family ordered a few of their seafood pastas which they ended up not even eating much of. Overall I would never recommend this restaurant or come again. While it's not expensive, the food options are not varied and there is nothing unique on the menu that you can't get everywhere else. After a long day of sightseeing all across Rome we ended at The Pantheon. Habana Cafe was an easy one minute walk from the square. The cafe style seeing on the sidewalk immediately made us feel invited. And Micuro (spelling?) made us immediately feel invited. We sat on the walk and drank white wine and laughed for hours with five glorious women, through three generations, from Ireland. It was a melting pot of fun. Micuro (the Amazing Canadian) didn't even seem to mind us sitting and drinking for hours without ordering food, filling his tables, and joined the conversation and laughed with us many, many times. Seems like a good deal for 10€, but the food was awful. I had gotten the tortellini with "white sauce" (not a real Alfredo sauce) and my boyfriend had the pork with mushroom and a lasagna. I had about 8 pieces of tortellini before I decided I had enough. Must avoid! They try really hard to convince you to eat there, but absolutely not worth wasting your money for.
