They're always playing music and there's indoor and outdoor seating and there are endless options. So we were there with a group of seven and we got two big charcuterie boards comes with all kinds of meat cheese who goes great with your spirits super super awesome. This review is just for the bar, I didn't eat here. It was stupidly hot (101F, 38C) and I had been walking around Rome all day. When I got to Trastevere, after visiting the Basilica di Santa Maria I needed a place to cool off and have a refreshing drink. I had heard about Pimm's from friends who had visited Rome recently do gave it a try. I sat at the bar and had an Aperol Spritz, which was perfect. The bartender was nice, the drink only cost €7 and the vibe was English-pub chill. I would definitely return and would eat next time. read more

I liked this spot in Trastavere, Rome. I thought it seemed like a tourist trap because of their outdoor seating set up, but the food was actually decent. (People smoke outside.) Not many people sit inside while it's light out. We had to wait for a table to free up. The servers speak English. Both the food and drink menus are extensive (QR code). They have their own "Pimm's liqueur", but I didn't get to try it. We had beer instead. Carbonara - yum. Good portion size. Ravioli - good. I prefer noodles to ravioli, but this was a decent dish. Pimm's can be a hit or a miss! They do have happy hour which is a big plus, but their food and service can be inconsistent. Consistency is key to a high functioning restaurant. I love that Pimm's has live music. Their drinks are solid, but honestly nothing crazy special. Sometimes the food comes out great and sometimes it can be bland. I guess it just depends on the day. I would say Pimm's is a fun place for a big group. I wouldn't completely knock Pimm's out of your Rome rotation, but just know it can be a little off and on with the hot and cold with the quality of the dining experience! read more

Bad night for Pimm's. I guess we all have them. The service was slow. We had to ask to order after waiting for a waiter to come. We had to ask twice for water and when the water came they put the bottle down with the glasses; they didn't open it. They did open it the water for the tables on both side of us...odd. Our food took forever to come after they said they ran out of steak and told hubby he needed to pick something else. Ordering drinks was no better...everything was just slow and inattentive. Sigh...I hope this was just a bad night. The food was still delicious, but we will see how they fare when we return. Keep you posted... We came here looking for cocktails and were pleasantly surprised. They have some seats outside which is nice for people watching if the weather is good, but there are only a limited number of seats available. We sat inside which was not crowded at all and it was a good escape from the intense Rome heat. The decor is cool, kinda retro/vintage and with a speakeasy feel to it. We had Negronis which were made perfectly. We sat around, sipping on our cocktails and looking through photography and food books from their small library by the entrance, with absolutely no care in the world. No one bothered us or rushed us nor placed a bill in front of us (stating 'no rush, whenever you're ready' like they do in the states). They had the Rolling Stones playing continuously which I loved, made the ambiance that much more cool and relaxing. read more

The waitress named Simona was an absolute nightmare. If you are a tourist, or anything but native Italian, stay CLEAR from pimm's. She harassed my friend and yelled at her in front of the entire restaurant. Overall it was a horrible experience. When we told the manager, he said that she does this all the time. Then why is she still working there? Dont be surprised if Simona harasses you too. There are many other bars nearby that have much better quality food, drinks, and staff. Conceited rude staff. Stuck up environment. Not welcoming. Not sure if they're anti American or they're only nice to larger groups, whatever the reason, they are RUDE. Went in multiple times as I was staying close by for a while, and each time they were rude and it got worse. After the 3rd time I decided it was not a fluke but that everyone is like that. I'm here for 2 more weeks WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. I'd like to specifically call out a younger guy who was seating people with ties to Colorado. I went in with an Italian on my last time in, and the guy gave attention and tried to seat us. I told him, wow you guys are paying attention, no one ever even looked in my direction the other 2 times I came in, and in a very rude way he said yes because no one wants to serve a table for one, why would we serve you and make no money". I laughed it off and tried to make it a joke, when I was leaving I waved goodbye and smiled to the guy, said hope you be nice next time...and he said "no, probably not". Bartenders were soooooo unfriendly that we drank our drink quickly and left. It was our first night out in Trastevere, we were so thrilled to try Pimms since it was recommended by the restaurant below the flat we were renting. My friend and I are servers at home so we get it, tourists that don't speak the language can be a little annoying.... we are far from annoying, we didn't ask tons of questions in English, pleasantries were in our best Italian.... but they were rude, rude, rude. Couldn't crack a smile and certainly were far from welcoming. As a tourist who doesn't speak Italian I suggest avoiding this place. The star of our trip to Rome so far. The cacio de Pepe, ricotta and ravioli with white sauce and the amatricina were all worth another walk across town in the 33C June heat. Another star was the chicken Cesar salad. The sauce was amazing. The star of the salad was the gossamer-thin crouton. Definitely gonna make those for my next Cesar salad at home... one that will not come close to this one. I'm tempted to offer the chef a hug to compliment this meal - but not on a day like this. Malto gusto! P.s. The hours on Yelp are wrong. It looks like they're open for lunch daily 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check their website. P.p.s. Great ambiance and setting for a fun night out with family or friends in Trastevere, the liveliest section of Rome. If you're looking for a romantic dinner, this is not your place, as it's loud and kind of like a sports-bar setting. We were a family of 4 (two teenagers) and loved every aspect of it. Food and wine were great, with a particular nod to the fabulous Ravioli and the Salmon Avocado appetizer! We got the house wine which was perfect for this type of setting and the anti-pasta and all dishes were huge. We actually ended up ordering too much food! The service was also superior (all of the waitstaff speak English if you're concerned about this) and they treated us to 4 free limoncello shots at the end of our meal, which was super fun and generous! While in Rome a few weeks ago, my friends and I stumbled on Pimm's because of the live music coming from he venue. Ironically enough, it was the one place my colleague told me we had to go because of how amazing this place was. I have to admit, she wasn't wrong. The bar was packed with locals and tourists alike, all listening to an incredible band playing some oldies but goodies. We grabbed the drinks menu, and I immediately gravitated towards the Classic Pimm's, which was simply their house liquor mixed together with lemonade. And I don't mean a simple mix. The bartender made this an art form. His skill was incredible, taking those two simple ingredients and turning them into the best drink I've ever had. With the vibe of this bar and attention to detail they pay to everything they do, I see now why they would be packed on a Monday night. Out of all the restaurants visited in Rome, this was one of the top places my family and I went to. Not only was their food amazing but their service was great. Excellent and friendly waiters, great vibe and music. Came two nights in a row because we loved it so much! This is also located in Trastavere, which has great night life almost every night. What the waitress (rude or just being simply Italian?) brings is a glass with champagne, pimm's, chunks of lemon, cucumber and lime wedges. So, for the second drink i specially asked for what's described on the menu and she's acting like she's taking a special order.... that's exactly how long it took to get my second drink.
