We hired this company to get animals out from inside part of our building. But they didn't seem concerned about getting them out of the building at all and only about setting traps. Once the critters figured out not to go in the trap, Squish didn't have any other techniques to get them out of the wall. All three of the workers were very nice but definitely are not set up for success by this company. Each person had to be retold the situation and sometimes had the wrong info about what they were supposed to do. From our perspective, they just seem to be an animal trapping and killing service. And yet, even how that was handled by them was disturbing to us. The animals would be trapped at dusk, and you are not allowed to leave a voicemail until 10am, for afternoon or evening service. So you are guaranteed to have a trapped animal screeching in your trap for minimum 14-16 hours. And you have to LEAVE the voicemail between 10am to 1pm, a bizarre 3-hour window? It's a voicemail! Why can't you leave it anytime? We also didn't know beforehand that the animals will be shot on the property, upsetting the neighbors. When finally the service ended because WE were able to seal the hole in the building after the critters left for the night, they picked up the trap but left bait strewn all over the ground--like 2 cups worth when we raked it up--Isn't that going to attract rats? These people catch these animals and leave them in their trucks for days to make them suffer with our food or water. In the heat or cold. Then they take these poor animals and instead of removing them they leave them in the cage and shoot them with shotguns. Now I don't know if this is legal but I do know it's inhumane to do this. He leaves them obliterates in the cages and on the owners Sean's property. I know this because I knew someone who worked for him. So saw first hand how they treat these animals. Two years ago, I hired Squish to get rid of the raccoons that were destroying my back yard. This year, I called them again, because I had raccoons in my attic. I spoke, at length, to an employee of Squish, about how this could be done. When I tried to get in touch with this employee, the Manager, Sean, told me that he had never hired a man by this name. This was a lie, because I had talked to this same man a year before, about trapping all of my outdoor raccoons. I don't understand why I would not be able to talk to the same person, regarding the raccoons in my attic. I had trusted this man, and how he tried to work with me. What was wrong about this? Sean was not helpful or understanding about what I needed done. In fact, he was quite rude to me. Not letting me talk to the primary person I had talked to was a slap in my face. He denied even knowing the person I had talked to, saying that he had never hired a person by the name of Brian. Squish Pest Control is absolutely the worst company I have ever worked with. I have NEVER posted a bad review but this company completely deserves it. We cancelled Squish a year ago and they continue to bill us. To date, we have been charged $1460 without authorization. My husband has spent months going back and forth with Sean and he always tells us he is going to credit us back and never does. Today they charged our card AGAIN!!!! I have now threatened legal action for all of the unauthorized charges. I have had to contact our credit card company to dispute everything. They are dishonest and do not care. I discovered a Squish Pest Control employee trespassing on my property (remote rural location, no reason for anyone to stop). He had to climb over a chained off driveway and walk past "No Trespassing" signs while his company truck was parked dangerously on the 2 lane highway I live on. I called the company to find out who this was and what he was doing there. No response. They apparently think that employees prowling around property they are not working on is just fine. I have not personally used this pest control service and after what I have read that they did, I won't The trapped a raccoon and left it for over 24 hours in a cage, in the weather, and cold, before coming out to pick it up to euthanize it, or whatever they do. Can I use zero stars? Nope. So, one star. Neighbor called these guys, and said employee/contractor person came over and started using a BB gun to shoot (and kill!) squirrels in the neighborhood. What would have happened if the pellet/BB were to miss the squirrel and hit the house behind or next door? Or even a cat in a tree? Either way, when my housemate went up to the guy and told him he was not supposed to be shooting in the city limits, he said it was for his job, put the gun away, and then left. He said it was his job, but NO WHERE on the company website does it say that they will come shoot and KILL animals. He did grab the squirrels on the property, but not the one that was killed next to my car. I am taking the time to write this review because a.) can't use a weapon in a neighborhood/city limits, and b.) the representative was a dick. read more

The man, I assume is the owner called me back the next day after I left a message. Which was great. He had a guy come out straight away the next day. however, on the phone the owner made it very clear that there are no guarantees that they will be successful removing the rodent. and it would be $400. I agreed. I was desperate. As to be expected a man came out who is very nice and claimed he could not get in our crawlspace under our house. He couldn't take pictures and he could not get under there. so we paid $400 for him to be out for an hour. The year prior a man came out to do exactly what we hired them to do And was successful. A month after squish was unsuccessful we hired somebody else and they were very successful. The man was much taller than the man from squish and he got under the house. no wonder people have trust issues. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I never write reviews but I was so worried about squirrels in attic, I hurried and did not look at their reviews. They did no work and harassed me. Horrible people, would not leave my driveway and then parked on street blocking my driveway, maybe they were trying to clock that they were there? I don't know it was weird. The person on the phone said they had material to block the hole but when they got there they had nothing and were and acted odd on my property. My roofer heard this story and came right out and blocked the hole the squirrels were coming in at. Super easy job, took them 5 minutes. The Squish people made me pay full price for no work and being weird. I offered to pay 1/2 price just not to fight but they wanted it all for doing nothing. Woud have posted NO stars but would not let me. Lots of these same kind of reviews. I will always read reviews now before I call someone. Called to schedule a possible bird removal from chimney and they were nice enough on the scheduling line but cancelling was difficult, they were very pushy, and only after I continually refused to keep the service appointment did they tell me there's a same day cancellation fee. I understand if a company has that policy - no problem. But it should be stated up front when booking or listed online. read more

At the end of April 2021, my son discovered 3 bed bugs in his bed. We looked everywhere and found signs of them, no musky smell, no dark spots on the mattress or nests. But the bed had lots of nooks and cranny's that had a few bed bugs hiding in. The bunk bed was the problem. After Richey performed a brief inspection, he treated the entire house with Cyonara 9.7, an insecticide. He did this right after telling me that the Hot Shot Bed Bug Killer I bought from home depot was snake oil and to return it. Hot Shot uses the same insecticide, Lambda-Cyhalolthrin, as is the active ingredient in Cyonara 9.7 at the same concentration. Mark one lie direct to my face from Richey. Richey leaves, provides an email with instructions and the scheduled time for the next service, 2 weeks later. If you've read up on bed bugs, this is just about as long as you'd like to wait, really the next service should be 7-10 days to kill any recently hatched bed bugs before they can reach gestation. The problem here was the 2nd appointment was never scheduled on Squishes side. My email told me a time and date, I took time off of work to be at home for the service, and no one arrived at the 7:00am - 9:00am appointment window. I waited until 10:00am to call and they didn't have me on their books at all! I received a call back from Joshua to reschedule once Squish realized their mistake, sending out a tech to my home at 7:30 pm. This tech had been working all day and was anxious to go home. He went into the affected bedroom and the neighboring bedrooms, and sprayed the carpets only, not spraying the bunk bed frame at all, the area of the infestation. He was in the house for 6 or 7 minutes then stood in my back yard chit-chatting with me for another 10 before he left. I asked him if I needed any paperwork and he told me to watch for another email. That email never came. Mark a second lie to my face. 3 weeks later, my son noticed bed bugs on his bed again. I inspected the bunk bed frame again to find an infestation. After three weeks of no service during a warm spell, and really 5 weeks since an effective service, Squish Pest Control was unable to adequately schedule and treat my house for bed bugs. I called them to find out when my next scheduled appointment was, and they never scheduled it. They did offer a next day service, which they do for anyone, and said that they did actually have me scheduled for 4 days later. Why would a pest control company schedule an appointment for 4 weeks later with bed bugs? They wouldn't because they know that 1 month is plenty of time for a bed bugs to regroup from a treatment. When I asked Richey why we weren't scheduled sooner, he said that he had us on the schedule and this is the normal cadence for service. He also stated that he sent an email with this information that he never did send. This is when the attached pictures were taken, with many areas on the bed like the pictures. We had to throw the bed out. My poor boys have been being eaten alive due to their ineptitude. I could have done, and am now doing, a better job myself. Mark a third and fourth lie to me. At this point, I had lost all faith in Squished ability to eradicate the bed bugs from my home. I requested a refund from Squish after prepaying $999 for three treatments and a 90 day guarantee of results. Speaking to Richey, he told me that a refund of ANY amount was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I explained the numerous failures on Squishes part to adhere to a schedule and the insufficient 2nd service. After making a few more calls, Richey has offered a refund of $333 despite the lack of results. When on site, Richey quoted the cost of a one time service at under $200. I told him his refund should reflect those costs, since the added cost of the guarantee no longer applies. He then lied again, stating that the sub $200 price was for the quote, which is offered as free, and a one time bed bug service is $350 to get me to take the low ball refund instead of what I deserve. Mark a fifth and final lie. Squish advertises a free quote and 100% results guarantee and doesn't honor those things. They will make any kind of refund based on their guarantee very hard to obtain. Someone in my neighborhood hired them to catch a raccoon. They left a bated trap out and a raccoon got trapped in it. The poor raccoon was stuck in there for over a day, and then Squish picked it up to likely euthanize it. I wouldn't hire them. read more

I called and made a reservation to dispose of a dead animal under my crawl space. I was told they could come the next day beteeen 11:00am-3:00pm. I had previously called-emailed- some other companies and people that I know, and on the morning of the scheduled service, I had an offer to get the animal for $100.00-Considerably less than the almost $400.00 Squish charges. I called the same number I made the reservation on at about 9:00am informing them that I no longer needed their services. No one answered and I left a message. A Squish worker-very nice young fellow-showed up at about 3:00pm and I told him I had cancelled this morning. He apologised and said he had to have a $100.00 cancellation fee per hios boss. This was NEVER Discussed on the initial phone call or any time after that and I never received the promised e-mail with the invoice from the person who initially took the call. Bottom line they are very expensive and have shady business practices-I will not use them ever again, but at least I saved $200.00 read more

I used Squish Pest Control three times in our fight against Boxwood Elder bugs. They have plagued us in our home for almost the entire 20 years we've lived here. The bugs used to come and enshroud our home in May and October. Now with climate change they live with us year round waiting of course for any amount of sun and warmth. We've used multiple pest services in our fight against them, but Squish has been far superior in their elimination for the longest period of time. Squish Service Techs are knowledgeable and friendly. It was some fortunate fluke to have found and utilized their services for which I'm most grateful for having done so. read more

I had a really bad smell coming from the furnace duct area in my bathroom. Something was definitely dead under my house. I called Squish and explained my situation and made an appointment for the next day. They explained the cost to me on the phone and I was just happy that someone besides myself would deal with this. Jordan and team arrived during the scheduled window and explained what they were going to do. They also inspected the perimeter of the house to identify where the critters were getting in. They found a hole where a vent screen was supposed to be. They proceeded under the house to find the source of the smell. They found a dead, decaying rat snuggled nest to the floor and duct then bagged and removed it. He offered a discount to put out some preventative rodenticide to ensure that we don't have some other offenders. We have had to have repairs done on some duct work in the crawlspace in the past because of some larger pests. I repaired the hole in the vent and scheduled a follow-up inspection with Squish in a month to confirm if they have taken the bait or if we have solved this problem. Bottom line: These guys are pros. They did a great job and I am happy. Some of the other reviewers complained because they had to pay for the service? I am willing to pay for something that I really do not want to do myself. I will call Squish again when I need any pest control services. read more

There nothing more I hate than a dishonest company. I honestly do not mind paying if the service I requested for is completed and delivered. First and foremost I was not aware when I called wildlife pest control they would send this company :( okay that fine, I needed whatever pest issues I was dealing was taken care off, so I didn't really mind about the company change. The guy that came, Richard Bryant was nice, asked me what type noises I was hearing, the location etc... and told me he will do inspection around the house and figure out what type of pest were dealing was. Great! Took him less than 10 minutes and he told me he had found what looks like rodents (mice/mouse) in the entry-point in the crawlspace vent with the connecting tube from the A/C unit. He said he would set 6 traps and baited for rodents. For that I paid $250 as agreed and he told him he will be back next week for a follow up and pick-up the trapped rodents for another $100, this was on 8/20. Today 8/27, a different guy Hayden showed up, also a nice guy. But he did not have any idea why he was here when I spoke to him. He assumed he was there to set traps for a wildlife. I explained someone had already came and set the traps last week and today was for them to follow-up and pick up the dead rats. I also told him the scratching noises are still their and It doesn't look like the traps Richard set-up has fully worked. He said he wanted to call the office and make sure that is what he was suppose to do before removing the traps. Once he confirmed the story, he went to get the 6 traps Richard set-up and it looked like there was no catches aka no dead rat :( hence why I was still hearing the noises. So, this is where it gets interesting, he wanted me to pay $100 for the follow-up (where they were suppose to pick-up the dead rodents, NO RODENTS were trapped and I still have the rats living in my vent) and said he is going to rebate another traps in a different area and do a follow-up next week for another $100 :( There is no way I am paying almost $500 dollars for rats they did not catch/trap. We gave them tips on what it liked to eat and the bait was not changed. We reached out via email for explanation and resolution and did not did a response. We feel our money was stolen. These idiots are shooting squirrels in my neighborhood with a BB gun right now. Aside from being extremely cruel (a BB is NOT going to kill a squirrel, but will only cause injury and unnecessary suffering), but it also seems extremely dangerous to do this in the middle of a very populated area of North Portland. Let's start with the fact that where POSSIBLE, we should be supporting our small local businesses. I made the decision to move to Squish because 1. They're local, 2. With my prior pest control company, it's a LARGE corporation and I am never "heard", 3. Should I have issues with rodents or wildlife (which in my area is common) they handle it all! Last year I contacted Squish for a quote while trying to sell my house. I had informed them I needed a Friday appointment because of my work schedule and they had nothing available in my timeline. A few weeks later they called to say they were at my house because they were in the area and had time to assess my property. I called back to reiterate my schedule and never heard another thing from them: no mail, no calls. Last week I was contacted by a collection agency attempting to collect $100 +fees for Squish! Regrettably this company has gone beyond disrespect to knowingly charging for services and refusing refund having not completed. The sales rep who opened the account "left" the company shortly after I signed on, animals were removed, then responses dwindled to nothing for a "cleanup" that was bought and paid for-300$. Despite repeated calls, emails, and a BBB complaint, the company has refused acknowledgement or refund, not responding to any communication after initially reporting ownership would authorize owed money back. The woman who answered the phone at 8:00 at night empathized with my situation and made note that I would like to get an earlier appointment if there were any cancellations. Then I was able to get moved up by a day! I have just met Harley and the first squirrel trap is out. He knew right away what the animal was and found possible entry points easily. It explained the service and costs thoroughly and I made the decisions that are right for me. I hope my problem will be resolved soon! read more

They caught one squirrel but never caught the other two squirrels that were damaging our roof. The one star is for catching the mom squirrel. But they only get one star because they never rotated the traps weekly as promised, even though they charged me a couple hundred dollars for this service. Furthermore, they never kept in communication despite my multiple phone calls. I left a message, requesting to speak with the owner and no one ever called me back. I never received a notification about them even coming to collect the traps. This company does not keep their word, nor do they effectively trap squirrels. We had to contact another company to do the job effectively and efficiently for half the price!! Very disappointed, had an opossum get under our house in crawl space and died while we were away with family on the 4th of July. When we returned it smelled terrible in our house. Dispatcher quoted $169 when I explained what we needed, I asked her twice if any additional fees would be added and she said, no. The technician came to our house to set up traps on the perimeter of the house? I explained once again that the animal was obviously dead under our home. He said he would call his boss and came back and told us he would crawl under the house for $399.00. We refused the service for that amount as not what we had been told. Then he stated we owed him $169.00 and he had never left our porch except to call his boss. We refused payment as the service scheduled was not provided. I had a raccoon under my deck that I wanted removed so I searched for a company that relocates them. I called the company and the number went to Squish which isn't who I called. the dispatcher quoted me 289.00 and said any additional animals would be an additional cost. the guy shows up with his traps, tells me how they work. I ask where they relocate them to and he said they don't, they kill them, it's the law. then he says it's 299.00 and another 129.00 if they actually catch a raccoon. so about 430.00 to kill a raccoon. I called the next morning to remove the traps which they did. I sent an email to the company asking for half of my 300.00 back since they did come out but didn't do actually do anything but put a trap on the ground. they said no. so there you are. Here's what I'll say. The treatment we needed was initiated by home advisor, so I didn't get to choose this company for this task. We bought a house snd the inspection showed some rat droppings under our house. The guy came by to look at it and I feel spent most of the time telling me that I wasn't getting a good value for what I paid with home advisor. He looked around the house and where the droppings were, and created a plan for full removal and went over what that included. The first visit, he did not wear a mask and frankly, that would be one item, I would really like to encourage the business require for all employees. He explained that this will need a multi visit treatment. Then, the next two visits, according to this plan cost $120. Which is quite a bit for looking at poison. One thing he shared is that the rat or mice problem could have been just an old problem and got me thinking, why do we need anymore services then? Did we need this to begin with? The last visit was the clean out. I was unavailable for due to a prior engagement. But my husband was there. I left my home and not 5 minutes later, I get a phone call from the employee saying he had been at my house for ten minutes. This was not true. This lie does not benefit him in any way, nor does it make me sympathize for him. I looked all around when I left my home. No Squish truck in sight. I really find it hard to trust someone in a business setting when they lie about something even insignificant. Once the "clean out" was complete, we were charged over $400. We feel there wasn't enough to show the value of what we paid and that this issue is resolved. Maybe a full checklist or complete overview of what is included in this clean out because he walked out with a small bag of insulation. We feel that our problem was not as severe as we were originally led to believe. And the value of what we got does not match what we paid. We contacted their office to ask for a partial refund because we just feel mislead and lied to with what was the work actually entailed. Overall, I don't recommend these guys. I think there needs to be some change in which they conduct business and incorporate a few more professional practices. To include breakdowns of services, with a comprehensive checklist, to also making sure employees use professional language, and presence, and hold themselves to a standard of why customers might choose this business. read more

We purchased the our first home in late November and have continued to see little ants throughout since we moved in. We were able to setup the appointment right away. Harley came during the projected time frame and answered my many questions. He made sure I knew how to keep my animals and young daughter safe after the treatment. I am hoping this treatment and the quarterly follow-up will keep the ants outside. read more

We are very disappointed with Squish; we had squirrels in the attic so they set traps for them and charged us a base fee or more than $250. For some reason they referred us to a roofing company who came out and gave us a bid to fix the chimney (which we just fixed a few years ago). As it turned out the squirrels only had one entrance and it wasn't through the chimney. They told us to call between 10am and 1 pm if a squirrel is trapped but never indicated there would be a charge for it (one squirrel $79) and we had one dead and one alive ($158 for both). The next day a big squirrel was found trapped in late afternoon. So we called them as instructed the next day but no one came until 730pm. By that time the squirrel was dehydrated, losing fur and skin trying to get out so we released it a few hours before the guy came (he didn't give us an ETA). We got charged anyway. So we already paid almost $500 and still had squirrels in the attic. We decided to take matters into our own hands when another squirrel was trapped and took him far away from our home. We sealed the entrance and have had no problems since. It seems this company wants to make money by setting traps, picking up the squirrels, referring us to a roof company for no reason, without clearly indicating verbally or in writing that this is how they operate. Squish does trapping only, not the exclusion work necessary to prevent attic re-entry so this 1 problem, very common to our treed SW PDX area, required 2 separate companies. This can lead to finger pointing, especially with aggressive vendors. The exclusion companies who quoted the job pointed out issues with Squish's traps ("that's crazy - ground squirrel traps for roof squirrels?!"). That was disheartening as squirrels are not my area of expertise & I must rely on the experts. Squish tech did not rebait the trap which seems even to me to be necessary. They caught no squirrels just a rat that came up from the creek to eat their original bait. They charged me $79 even though my contract says its "$79 for each SQUIRREL caught". What point is a written contract if they can demand something besides what's written, signed & agreed to? They never returned my calls or emails. I wish I'd read all the BBB reviews before hiring them. They never would have gotten my business. They certainly never will again. read more
