Hubby and I stopped for a light dinner. We shared a wings appetizer, a bacon wrapped scallops appetizer and an order of fries. The scallops were undercooked and not really worth $4 per scallop ($15.99 appetizer price). The wings were very good, and a deal during happy hour. The fries were decent. All in all it wasn't bad. Evidently they send out great specials via email and our very nice waitress informed us and also made Sure I signed up for future emails. I think we would try it again and order some entrees. We had crunchy fish fingers which were good. Entrees we're grilled snapper with citrus butter grilled mahi with citrus butter and grilled shrimp (Cajun seasoning). All came with two sides including potatoes or rice and vegetables of the days. Veggies were mixed carrots, beans, broccoli and peppers. They were ok.... Very salty. Potato was very good as well as the grilled shrimp and fish. You can taste the difference in grilling over the oak fire. read more

First time eating here, and everything was great. We came in pretty late, so a couple appetizer options were out, but the recommendations made were great picks! Tom was our server and was super attentive. He had a great personality and was on top of it. We even got to go outside and feed the fish. Definitely recommend! Had a wonderful early dinner at Squid Lips in Sebastian. Seated right near the windows facing the river. Beautiful setting! Our waitress was Sparkles and she was very attentive to our needs especially our grand daughter who was visiting for the first time. Atmosphere is great! My kids love feeding the fish and birds and the staff is great. My only complaint was that the fish food was out, but it was ok because a very kid patron had a bag of fish food with her and let my kids use hers. The server also let them throw their leftover fries out. I love a restaurant that gives my kids something to DO. We had the mountain of shrimp special and it was good. Who was in the kitchen on May 9th, 2024? The oak fired buns for our grilled fish sandwiches were damp and doughy and they stuck to the tray paper. We left most of our bread behind, stuck to the trays the way it was delivered. This has been our go-to place for years, always reliably good, but we'll be looking elsewhere for our casual fish sandwich lunches. The menu is very limiting with the majority of the fish being what I call "junk" fish - Swai fish, seriously, it's a restaurant near the ocean and they serve that junk. Of course you can upgrade to grouper for $33 for a small square block of fish rolled in cornflakes and fried. I thought the place was so dirty. I did not even want to touch the menus. They were sticky and dirty. The place was not busy and as we were leaving some guy was telling people they were closing early and it was only 8:15pm. We were celebrating a friends birthday. (Free desert for him!). We were promptly seated and our orders were taken. We ordered burgers, tacos and a salad. Nothing crazy. No special requests. While it was pretty full I wouldn't call it busy. It took extremely long (compared to other times we've been here) for our food to arrive. Once it did, it was very good, as usual. Stopped at the Sebastian Squid Lips location for 2 drinks, ordered NO food. Though the bartenders were nice, upon cashing out we noticed a 3.00% service charge on our bill. We were told this was a charge in order to give the kitchen staff a bonus at year end, AGAIN we ordered NO food, just 2 drinks. One drink was a specialty drink that was to come in a souvenir cup with the Squid Lips logo. An extra $2.00 charge was added to our bill, though there was no logo on this plain plastic cup. We questioned the bartender and were told they were out of logo cups but still charged us the $2.00 regardless. Very disappointed and will not return. read more

We arrived around 7:30 and we didn't have to wait. We had a party of 7 and we were very well accommodated. All of us got a different entree and we tried many different things on the menu. Their seafood pastas were very good, as well as their fish fingers. After dinner we had their banana pudding and chocolate cake. I do have to say, the view was nice and it was super fun to feed all the fish down below the restaurant-there were tons! Having said that, the food and service were okay. I had the onion chips appetizer (although the menu says "lightly fried" these things are heavily fried) but pretty good. For my entree I had the veggie burger with chips that was surprisingly tasty. Our server seemed to do the minimum when it came to serving us but there were no major complaints. Overall I was glad we tried this place but would not go out of the way to come here again. We will not go any more. We went a few months ago and when the bill came there was a mysterious charge on the bill. When I asked what this extra charge was, I was told that it's a gratuity for the kitchen staff! WTF. A mandatory tip for the kitchen staff?! Other restaurants don't do this BS! Why can't you just pay your kitchen staff more $ instead of billing it to the customer? Bad bad business Squid Lips! read more

The scallops where very good, I am a minimalist when I cook, so everything was cooked well I just like less is more. I have donned at Capt Hirams and here, I prefer Squid Lips, if you are a minimalist when it comes to flavors, maybe have it on the side with more lemon for the scallops, GREAT MARGARITAS! read more

Interesting venue. It's a building hanging over the water. We were lucky enough to get seats right at the edge, so we could see boaters coming and going. And fish in the very clear water. A bit crowded inside but not uncomfortable. The free appetizer (through Yelp! Yay!) was fish fingers. They were delicious. A huge shareable serving of delicately battered and fried fish strips served with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Unfortunately that was the best part of the meal. I had fried shrimp. The shrimp were barely larger than popcorn shrimp and nothing to write home about. Came with seasoned fries. I would have asked for no seasoning if they had been listed that way. Hubby's grouper was very fishy, unlike most other grouper, which is usually mild and white. His came with homemade potato chips. They were cold and dry. Maybe we just ordered wrong. The appetizer was really great and I wish I'd ordered fish fingers as my entree. Live and learn. read more
