Really disappointed with the service we have received with this company. We made two appts to get our water softener installed, the first they showed up many hours late (think 3-4) only to tell us he needed to order at part when he finally showed up. The "part" was a 1.5 inch pipe sold at any hardware store. Second attempt: rescheduled for a few weeks later. Time of appt was 8am. Received a call at 10:56am stating the driver was "just being dispatched" 2 hours and 56 minutes after our scheduled appt of 8am he showed up at 12:48pm. Nearly 1 o'clock pm for a 8am appt. I had a dentist appt at 11:30 which I mentioned to the scheduler who called and told me she "just dispatched" the tech. He gets to my home to tell me he can't install our softener because there's children present and my babysitter isn't over 18. The softener is in the garage. No need to enter the home whatsoever. Now they just simply won't answer their work phone to try to get this rectified. Bottom line: if you're keen on wasting multiple days waiting for these people to show up at their convenience, this is the your lucky day. read more

Squared Away Plumbing was recommended to us through our neighborhood and we had a pleasant experience through the quote process. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience once the work was completed. I have immense respect for the trade (as both my Brother and Father are Master Plumbers), sadly, they were unable to help us install the water softener, so we decided to outsource the job. The work was well done (per my Dad) and so, I will give credit to the Technician Marc L. However, the reason we are giving the company two stars is directly related to the quote versus the billed amount. Typically a plumbing company either quotes a flat rate or time plus materials. We were quoted time, plus materials, but billed a flat rate plus materials. When the technician arrived, he completed the job in 1/2 the time quoted. As a result, when we reached out to pay the bill, we were informed the quote was wrong and that they only do flat rate work. No problem, but we probably would have went with another Plumber if we had known that. My husband advised that's not what was quoted and she simply responded that it was wrong and would not reconcile the situation (for the record, I am paraphrasing). We paid the bill, because we believe in paying a company for the work, but when I called later that day to discuss in more depth, the company never responded. I did follow-up again and still no response. So here is my caution to people evaluating the company, they do good work, but their quoting/billing is misleading and their customer service is subpar--as they never returned my call. read more

I called Squared Away Plumbing after reading rave reviews on our neighborhood Facebook page. On Sunday morning (!) Chris came to our house to assess the situation. I wasn't surprised to learn that our hot water heater was dead. Chris gave us an education on conventional vs tankless and promised to contact the manufacturer on Monday to see if our heater was on warranty (we thought it wasn't). On Monday Therasa called to say it is still on warranty, so we'd pay only for labor. Yeah! Chris is the kind of guy that will lose money on a job because he can't stand the idea of not honoring his original quote. If he says he will show up at 8, he'll be there at 8. He finishes what he starts and does the same quality of work that he would do for his own home. We were finishing a builder-unfinished basement on our home and discovered that a connection was needed from the basement plumbing to some upstairs, exterior plumbing. This involved running an exterior pipe up a long, steep grade along the side of our home. Chris came out on a weekend with a shovel and other tools and dug the entire (very long) trench, breaking stone and other obstructions along the way. He installed the pipe and filled in the trench with sand afterwards. Some very hard labor which was no obstacle for Squared Away -- I think most other plumbers would have run for the hills. Chris did a great job repairing the shower handle In our shower. The cartridge inside the handle had completely failed. Squared Away Plumbing correctly diagnosed the issue over the phone with just a few questions over the phone. Chris completed the repair in less than 30 minutes and also answered questions and provided good advice about other potential problems I might encounter. My sister's heater went out in the evening and we needed someone to come out and hopefully fix it fast because my sister was having cancer remove surgery the next day. My sister called 2 companies one of the being Radiant whom advertise 24/7 service she explained the urgency, she was told that all her technicians were busy and couldn't come out. His first response was call the company you got it from and see if they would honor the warranty, it'll save you some money. Long story but that didn't work and I had to get a whole new (not Chris' doing) one; he was there first thing Monday ran into an electrical issue he recommended someone else they were out within a few hours. Scheduled an appointment for a quote and no one showed up. They did not have the courtesy to call and let me know. I had to call and see where they were. The appointment was at 9 am and she said well I can get someone there at 11 am. 2 hours later.. had I not called I would still be waiting there. Plumbing mishaps tend to happen at the most inconvenient times. We had drained our water heater, as we do once a year, and then we did not have hot water for awhile, I guess as the water heater was filling back up. The next morning, the water was scalding hot, so my husband turned off the power, turned the thermostat, and then turned the power back on. Cold water. We thought we'd wait and see if it would eventually get warm. No such luck. We called Chris with Squared Away Plumbing, since the business is close by.
