Let me take you back to 2017 when I first found this hidden gem. The staff was amazing. After going there just a couple times they remembered your name, order, etc. Very friendly. The subs are huge for a decent price. Just like other places they charged you a tad more for adding extra toppings, soda, and chips (which was all Michigan based chips). But for the amount of food you got, no complaints at all. Only problem was when dining in your butt started to hurt after the uncomfortable seating. But that was minimal. Fast forward to today, it is under new management. Staff (which is only one woman and her kid when he isn't in school). They both are still friendly, but the mother is somewhat hard to understand. She makes it simple to order the sub though. They just recently made it so you can order your own sub on her touch screen. Wasn't a fan of that, but I think they are still working out the bugs. Now the subs still taste pretty much the same. They took away a couple of options like wheat bread and some of the Michigan chips. Also when toasted she doesn't put the peppers on before which I really like. But now they don't charge for the extra toppings or a medium soda. Only if you upgrade to the large and chips still cost a little bit more. The chips now are brand name all except for one type is still Michigan based. Luckily it is the BBQ which are amazing. She also sometimes gives you free food she made. For example I had an egg roll last week and some noodle thing the week before. No charge and it was pretty good. Overall it is still one of the best Sub Shops I ever been too. Give it a try and you may never go back to a Subway or Quiznos again. read more

Have always wondered how these sub's tasted so tonight I got one and I wasn't disappointed. Although intermission deli is #1 and can't be topped this place is easily better then your typical subways, Quiznos, ect.... They freshly slice the deli meat to order and the size of the sub's are unreal for the price. I'll definitely be back and recommend giving them a shot. Updated: Spuckys is now my go to spot for subs in the saginaw area. Never disappointed and I have recommended them to quite a few friends who always wondered about this place also and ended up loving their subs too. read more

I had heard great things about this place from family and friends. I'll admit I was a little bit concerned about the location (gas station food is usually nothing to get excited about), but I was in the mood for a sub today and decided to give it a try. Service was great. Quick, friendly, knowledgable of the menu, etc. I ordered the #12 with all the veggies. Meat was freshly sliced, just the right portion. All the veggies were fresh. Bread was awesome. I added the vinaigrette, and was worried it might get soggy sitting in the car. Didn't at all. Toppings hold up really well on the bread. Highly recommend this place. $8 for a 15 inch sub that is great for 2 meals, much better than Subway in every way, on par with Intermission Deli if you're in the township and don't want to drive far for a good sub. read more

I'm sad to report the new owners have taken this place down. I have given them four different visits over the course of multiple months since they accepted ownership. There is now less meat on the sandwiches, I've had my order clearly specified and repeated back to me and even logged correctly on the ticket yet the female owner has added items (mustard, mayo etc) that I didn't ask for nor wanted on the sandwich. The toppings are lightly applied and the quality of the produce used is not the same it used to be. I love supporting local establishments and wish them well but they really need to up the ante and restore it to what it was when they purchased it. read more

Don't be fooled by it's location inside of Admiral gas station, this place has delicious made-to-order subs. The bread is good, meat is freshly sliced, and the staff is friendly. My only complaint is the hours; I wish they were open later and on weekends. read more

Great sub! Coney was pretty good also, though I don't find a coney dog to be anything all that special. These guys just opened up within the last week or two I believe. They are inside the Admiral gas station. Their menu is only subs and coney dogs. Drinks, chips, etc can be bought from the gas station. They have a few tables so eating inside is an option. My friend ordered before me and when they brought his food out I thought he had ordered 2 subs. A regular is 15 inches. Doesn't sound like more than a subway foot long but it's a lot of food. Another friend and I split a Godfather and each got a coney dog. The sub was really good. I'm going to be stopping here instead of my usual subway run. The coney dog was good but as I said they aren't something I get excited about. Prices are decent. The big Godfather was $10 but each half was easily a full meal for my friend and I so it was only $5 each. The crew was friendly and wanted to know if they were doing things right to make the food and service enjoyable. I'll be going back here. read more

My brother picked us up some sandwiches on Friday morning. My compliments to the very nice lady who put the sandwiches together, especially being under the adversity of customers who were intolerant of a person learning a new trade. Excellent sandwiches and to the lady who couldn't put down her cell phone to order her sandwiches and the young fellow who should have clarified he wanted the sandwich warmed up. It would be nice if people remembered how it is when starting a new job or learning something new. It is sad that today common decency and manners have gone by the wayside and instead of paying attention when ordering it is easier for these and others to criticize a very nice lady working to do her best and please her customers. read more

Located inside Admiral gas station at 5605 State St. in Saginaw. Don't let the location of this place fool you. Gas stations aren't usually known for quality food. I needed fuel since my trusty fuel light was on. My stomach felt the same way too. I haven't tried this place yet, so I thought I'd give it a try. I looked over the many menu selections and decided on the #15 The Guido (Ham, Capicola, Salami, Prostini, Pepperoni & Provolone cheese) added lettuce, tomato, vinegar & oil, italian spices, and banana peppers on a white bun. I ordered the smaller sandwich for a couple dollars less, and I wasn't dissapointed, I don't think I could've eaten a whole 15" (but I'm sure I would've). If you like hoagies/heros/grinders/torpedos/subs- whatever name you call it, then this is a must stop place. The service was excellent. The girl behind the counter asked if it was my first time and I nodded. She explained the menu and options to me which was great because I get easily overwhelmed with menus. "What kind of meat do you like?" she asked. "All of them" I replied. She recommended The GodFather, but only after I had my mind set on the Guido. Now I know what I'll order next time.
