However, I was very disappointed with my final billing experience. I am permanently relocating out of the country to an area where Spectrum does not provide service, and I canceled my account with 16 days remaining in my billing cycle. Despite no longer being able to use the service, I was charged for the entire month with no prorated adjustment. What made this especially frustrating is that Spectrum indicated the account could have been transferred to the new homeowners if they chose to activate service, yet there was still no flexibility regarding the final bill. I understand companies have policies, but charging customers for weeks of service they cannot use leaves a poor final impression. It's unfortunate because the quality of the service itself deserved a higher rating.

They accused my non-existant child of ordering TV services on my non-existant Roku. When I asked who authorized any added services and why they wouldn't bother to send a notice, alert, email (literally anything) that this was added on, they said, "Oh, we had the wrong account pulled up." Shady and clearly disorganized company. Ridiculous.

We spoke with several companies, both big national providers and smaller local ones, and ultimately went with Securimax. What stood out was their local presence and the hands-on approach, especially from Jack, the CEO. The installation itself was fairly involved and took most of the day, but everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Since then, their service has continued to impress. They're very responsive whenever we have questions and have been flexible in helping us adjust or expand the system as our needs evolve. Overall, it's been a really positive experience.

The installer showed up late, seemed completely unprepared, and didn't even know how the system was supposed to work. Sensors were crooked and one camera works only sometimes. When I asked about it, I was told "that's how I was told to do it" and "most people think it's ok". The system went offline multiple times, including once while we were out of town. What's the point of paying for the services if it doesn't work when you need it most? Customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered and when someone finally responds, they act like you are the problem. Every issue was blamed on my internet, my phone, or "user error," even though the system wasn't working rights from day one. How is it my fault when the app says that a camera is offline? What am I supposed to do but contact them. I pay them monthly for the service, so if something says it is not working then I think it's reasonable to say I can call them. What is not reasonable is for there to be no customer service when the system is malfunctioning. To make matters worse, I was locked into a contract and threatened with cancellation fees instead of offered real support or a fix. If you care about your safety, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this company. I regret ever signing up. I thought I was doing good by going with a small company, but I should have called ADT, Vivint, or someone bigger.
