It felt tight with 2 people. The thermostat on the wall was not working right. Our room was 73 and it would not go below that temperature. The front desk did come to assist, and recommended holding buttons here and there to get it to set at a lower temperature. While the temperature did finally get set to about 69, the air was stuffy. Also, the front desk was not wearing shoes which was odd.... The bed was not comfortable. The front desk had mentioned there was a recent renovation but I do not think the beds were in that renovation. The bed was hard and squeaked. You could feel the springs. The complimentary breakfast was okay but what I would typically expect for what I'm paying. Overall this is Dothan, AL and a room should not cost this much and you not have a working thermostat and a 10+ year old bed.

I especially loved their layout of snack items and drinks in their little store. I would gladly return to this hotel. My Diamond member status was oddly never recognized by the staff nor did they have Diamond Member parking. This was odd and the only reason they didn't receive a fifth star.

There is also a small gym for those that must keep up their fitness on the road. The room was nice and had everything we needed. Like any Residence Inn, it had a full kitchen set-up (minus an oven). We did have some questionable charges (pending) on our final bill but Tiffany (the Manager) was so nice and helpful! She was able to explain the system and asked us to call her personally if we had any issues. The folks at the 800 number (multiple calls) said they would open a case and they were sure I would be refunded under the circumstances. I had to call the hotel itself (this hotel) and the manager refused to help me out. Before you book at this hotel, please consider this: do you want to stay at a huge chain hotel that has zero humanity during the holidays when you are faced with extraordinary circumstances? I would not recommend this property or ANY Mariott property for that fact. It is a terrible situation and they have no obligation to me, but I will NEVER book with any Mariott property again and will discourage all friends and family to look elsewhere when seeking hotel. To you yelpers Elite and non-elite alike: you should really consider where you chose to spend your hard earned/saved money. This is a true DoubleTree by Hilton. They have a pool as well as a great outdoor area that includes fire pits, and a cornhole pit. There's also a restaurant that's available as well as a bar. There is convention space here as well.

My wife and I chose this hotel because of the convenience with regard to proximity of why we visited Dothan. We have stayed here on 3 occasions, and this review comes after the third visit. Our most recent stay was a 5 night stay. This will probably be our last stay. For the most part, this hotel is adequate for the cost. It generally runs 100 +/-20, leaning towards the +20. The lot is well lit at night and there is adequate parking for the number of rooms. The rooms, lobby, and food areas are typical for a Comfort Inn. The pool looks well-kept (not used because I visit during January). The hallway carpets look dingy and drab and like it needs a steam-vaccuming. The fitness room was a sad affair, with 2 of the 4 machines operational. (NOTE: If the treadmill isn't starting, check the emergency magnet in the middle). The washer was also non-opperational. The staff was mostly friendly. I overheard gossip about Sarah, complaining about a visitor, and about an hour of mobile game beeping from an employee's phone that was (as best as I could tell) at full volume. The room was clean.
