This hotel is under construction and we knew that when we booked it so we can't be too upset about the construction noise but it's fairly extreme during the day. It also reduced the parking available at night so don't be the last to get in at night. You may not have a spot. The staff was first rate from the time we showed up until we left. Friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. It's located right on the main drag in Dothan and as such, restaurants, gas and shopping are readily accessible. The breakfast was simple and tasty. Plenty of warm and cold options to choose from. I especially loved their layout of snack items and drinks in their little store. I would gladly return to this hotel. My Diamond member status was oddly never recognized by the staff nor did they have Diamond Member parking. This was odd and the only reason they didn't receive a fifth star. read more

For $240/night for a king sized bed, I expected more. The peloton bike and treadmill were broken in the fitness area. The fitness area was so small with everything in there. It felt tight with 2 people. The thermostat on the wall was not working right. Our room was 73 and it would not go below that temperature. The front desk did come to assist, and recommended holding buttons here and there to get it to set at a lower temperature. While the temperature did finally get set to about 69, the air was stuffy. Also, the front desk was not wearing shoes which was odd.... The bed was not comfortable. The front desk had mentioned there was a recent renovation but I do not think the beds were in that renovation. The bed was hard and squeaked. You could feel the springs. The complimentary breakfast was okay but what I would typically expect for what I'm paying. Overall this is Dothan, AL and a room should not cost this much and you not have a working thermostat and a 10+ year old bed. read more

This motel has been recently renovated. Beds very comfortable with the expected amenities. Free breakfast is also excellent. The location is very convenient for travelers using Hwy 231. Plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. The staff is very friendly and nice. I will definitely be back. read more

I checked in at 3 am and the gentleman was doing a night audit. At first his disposition was very rude, he told me he didn't have a reservation for me. I had recently made it. I sat down and waited for 5 minutes and he said it came through at that point. His disposition changed immediately, perhaps because I'm an HHonors member? The room was ok, configured a little odd. Wet bar with fridge and microwave, nice desk, sofa, and king sized bed. The room had the shower and toilet together and vanity/sink outside. The television was off to the side and you had to swivel it around to see from the bed. I decided to do some laundry before I left for home, there is a sign up that laundry supplies are located at he front desk. Of course I went and they advised me they were out. So I had to take a trip to Target, spent $60! Oh well. The room was very clean, the pool was outside in full sun and was super cold. Free hot breakfast was awesome. Oatmeal, bacon, sausage, cereal, cranberry juice, orange juice, all kind of milk, and a make your own Belgium waffle station. The western omelette was great and they also had French toast. My first time staying at a Hampton Inn. Would I stay at one again, yes but I would need to be broke. :-) read more

Really nice Hampton Inn. I have been coming here annually for about 6 years. While all Hamptons have similar breakfasts, this one always seems a notch above the rest. Breakfast staff is super polite, warm and welcoming. This visit in particular, I woke to find myself with a really bad headache. Went to the little concession area and pulled a 2 dose pack of Tylenol and Advil and brought them to the register. The manager was there and apologized that the cost of those 2-packs were so expensive, then just told me to take them and hoped I felt better. I had no problem paying, it was just nice to have experienced someone so thoughtful. When in Dothan, I really truly recommend this Hampton Inn for your stay. read more

My family has always enjoyed staying at Hampton Inn. They are clean and spacious and the breakfast is delicious. That is true of this location. However, our experience with the staff at this particular location has ruined our perception of all Hampton Inns and I know we'll never stay at this location again, despite being rewards members. Upon arrival, everything seemed to go smoothly. My room was fine, double queen bed, no problem. But, my dad was put into the wrong room without our realizing it. Later that evening, other hotel guests walked into his room because they had all be checked into the same suite. His room key became deactivated, he had no internet access. The next morning the hotel staff called him frantic to move out of the room they had put him into the day before (apparently, in error) while he was trying to help me move into a new apartment. He had to hurry back to help the staff correct their mistake. He had to move all of his possessions into a new room and was issued another key card (that didn't work). He was unable to get onto the internet his entire stay and had to return to the front desk on multiple occasions to regain room access with his key card during the remained of his 3 night stay. He spoke with the individual who identified herself as the manager, Georgana, who made no attempt to assist him or remedy the incredible inconvenience he was faced with, despite his eagerness to relocate as requested by the staff so they could correct their mistake. Then prior to even checking out he was already billed for his stay, and charged for the different suites the staff had accidentally put him into throughout the weekend. He spoke with Georgana once more before leaving and she denied speaking with him the day previously, saying it was her first day back to work and she was unaware of all of the issues that had occured (there was a large party staying at the hotel, and multiple other guests had been inconvenienced by check-in errors made between Thursday and Friday). She, again, made no attempt to address/remedy the terrible experience he had during his stay, saying she would see what she could do but taking no blame/fault in the situation and no clear action to try and make anything better. I cannot recommend anyone stay at this hotel and will actively caution my friends and their parents against it when they visit town for school functions because of the horrific experience we had this weekend. I know my parents will never stay at this location again. read more

This visit to this hotel was no where near the prior experience. The entire hotel was stuffy with a musty/ moldy smell. The room was ok basic standard with an exception. A large hook sticking out from the side of my bed. I've stayed in a lot of these hotels and I've never seen this. It could have really caused a nasty cut. I think they are supposed to be affixed to the box springs. This one was most certainly not. Additionally some of the staff is not of the same quality as others I'd encountered here in the past. One lady in particular took a lot of personal phone calls and was extremely loud with her drama filled discussions in the hotel lobby. Very unprofessional. The breakfast area remained adequately stocked and I realize the food is not of the highest quality but it was really unappetizing. The items didn't appear to be fully cooked. The sausage was a weird gray color. The omelets were cool. It's as though the breakfast area staff didn't cook the items adequately. I skipped bfast this week and I'm not typically very easily grossed out but their hot bfast items just were not right. The room was clean. I'll likely come back next time I'm in town for my points but the quality vs my last stay has deteriorated significantly. Previous 5 star below: I stay in far more hotels than I care to. I'm Hilton loyal as there is almost always a Hampton reasonably near where I'm working and generally they are pretty consistent. This location called me and asked if they could upgrade me to a suite at no charge wk 1. I have been a diamond member for years and this is rare when you qualify and book under special rates which are concessionary to the standard. Wk 2 at checkout I had a rate discrepancy. The young woman at the desk apologized and fixed it immediately and printed me a new receipt. This never happens! The employees almost always have an argument to justify the overage and they can never help fix it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was typical Hampton fare; however, the bubbly hostess greeted everyone, kept the area well stocked and very clean. She even made multiple hot options each morning. For example Omelets, sausage, ham, and bagel toppers this am. Usually you get only omelets and sausage or something of the sort. Multiple options was nice especially since the bagel toppers appeared more than once during my stay. This is a pretty standard Hampton Inn not a 5 star resort destination, but the people and the little extra effort really made it stand out to me. read more

In Dothan quarterly and have moved my lodging to Hampton Inn and Suites Dothan. Great location, great service. One thing to keep in mind here is how to go left. If you have ever lived in Jersey you would understand turning right to go left. Best is to leave, turn right, veer right at car dealer road to end, turn left, light, then left again. We stayed in this Hampton Inn in Dothan, AL on the way to see relatives in FL. I never write reviews, but the staff at this Hampton Inn were so friendly and helpful, I have to share! Our check-in was typical of any motel, but there was free WiFi, so that's excellent. Our room was nice, clean, with two queen beds. Everything was in working order and good repair. Our included continental breakfast in the morning was above and beyond! The food was excellent with waffle station, pastry/bagels, fresh fruit, an oatmeal station with toppings, and delicious western omelets and sausage. The breakfast room attendant was exceptional!! She was cute and silly with my kids, brought them an extra treat, provided us with ice from the back and bottles of water from the road! I wish I had more cash on hand, because I would have given her an excellent tip if I'd been prepared, but who usually gets that with a breakfast at a motel?! Finally, upon checkout, we had an issue where it came to light that I was apparently scammed by a 3rd party website. I paid the 3rd party and they provided a credit card that was rejected. We spent some time dealing with the 3rd party customer service trying to rectify the situation, but the 3rd party was uncooperative. However, the lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful and stood up for me, demanding the 3rd party issue me a refund! She also gave me some great tips about working with 3rd party booking. In the end, I had to pay her too and dispute the charges with my credit Card company, but I have to express my appreciation for the staff at the Hampton Inn! read more

This is at best a 2 star hotel pretending to be a quality major chain hotel. The furniture is worn out and the carpets in the hallways is also worn and smells of mold. On weekends if anything is broken or wrong with your room, the staff can only take your concerns and pass it on to maintenance staff on Monday morning. They can do absolutely nothing for you! The free breakfast is budget quality with fruit that is almost past eating quality. The tables in the breakfast area rock so bad they spill your drinks fairly easy. I have become so accustomed to another major chains attention to detail, I booked for this hotel thinking if it is H####n, it must be top-notch! Boy, was I ever wrong! New hotel that had nice room, a good breakfast, free parking on 231. I was in town for a HS graduation and stayed here and really like this Hampton Inn. The only issue was they were shocking the pool and my kids were not able to swim. I would stay here again if back in Dothan. read more

Stayed at this Hampton last night and thought it was very nice. The rooms are clean, modern, and up-to-date. The night stand between the two comfy queen beds had FOUR electric outlets and TWO USB ports! Just perfect for charging up all of my hubby and my electronic devices! This is the first hotel I've seen with this feature and hope it catches on with more places. I'm really sick of hunting in spider-infested crevices behind furniture to find an available outlet. The bathroom had a big granite topped sink area with plenty of room for both of our toiletries. The breakfast area is roomy with a high ceiling so you don't feel claustrophobic. Very clean and nicely furnished with some actual space between the tables. This mornings entrees included western omelettes, French toast, smoked sausage, and ham. There was also make your own Belgian waffle and bagels to toast. Cold cereals, yogurt, muffins and fresh fruit round out the menu. And last but most COFFEE! I found this Hampton Inn, your run of the mill hotel. Nothing really special about it, but convenient location and a clean room at a reasonable price. The morning breakfast was ok, your standard hotel "free breakfast". The cons were the duvet on the bed was very heavy. It was hard to find that happy medium of comfort while sleeping, I was either too hot or too cold. The biggest negative was the free internet. In the room, the Internet was practically nonexistent. In the lobby it was so-so. If you need a place with free wiFi, this is NOT it. Would probably not stay here again with so many other hotel choices in this town. read more

The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful, and the lobby was attractive. The room with 2 queen beds was spacious enough that my family of 4 didn't feel cramped. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfy -- middle-ground softness. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a very quiet night. No neighbor noise, yet I know we had at least one. We did have to use a clip on the curtains to keep them closed, but that's about the only complaint about the room. There's a restaurant within walking distance (Wings & Things), but it's nothing to write home about! But at least you don't have to get back in your car to find dinner if you don't want to (if you DO want to, there are several restaurants in the area). The free breakfast was decent -- nothing extraordinary, but definitely worth the "price". ;) The overall rate was very reasonable -- our AAA card got us a Saturday night stay for under $100 (not including tax). Here's where they definitely impressed me. One of my kid's "lovey" animals was left behind, and they shipped it back to us Fed Ex. I have yet to see a charge hit my credit card for shipping, so I don't know if they did it out of the goodness of their hearts or if the charge will come later? Regardless, we had it back within about 3-4 days, and everyone is happy. Would definitely stay here again, and I rarely say that about a hotel. read more
