We were in town for Christmas and stayed here because they are pet friendly and we brought our dog with us. The staff was very friendly and took care of us. There is lots of room to walk your pets and they do have dog waste stations. The hotel was quiet and we had no issues with any type of noise. The location is very convenient to restaurants and shopping and is in the heart of Dothan. The breakfast seems nice although we didn't eat because it was over Christmas and we were eating with family. There is a pool, basketball court and outdoor seating with a gas grill. There is also a small gym for those that must keep up their fitness on the road. The room was nice and had everything we needed. Like any Residence Inn, it had a full kitchen set-up (minus an oven). We did have some questionable charges (pending) on our final bill but Tiffany (the Manager) was so nice and helpful! She was able to explain the system and asked us to call her personally if we had any issues. I would recommend this location to anyone staying in the area and we will definitely stay here when we are visiting family in Dothan. read more

I booked a non-refundable reservation expecting to travel and see family over the holidays. Unfortunately I found myself laid off two weeks before Christmas and my trip. I called the hotel to see if they would be reasonable and assist me with the situation, not only as a courtesy, but being a bonvoy member. I received conflicting information. The folks at the 800 number (multiple calls) said they would open a case and they were sure I would be refunded under the circumstances. I had to call the hotel itself (this hotel) and the manager refused to help me out. Before you book at this hotel, please consider this: do you want to stay at a huge chain hotel that has zero humanity during the holidays when you are faced with extraordinary circumstances? I would not recommend this property or ANY Mariott property for that fact. It is a terrible situation and they have no obligation to me, but I will NEVER book with any Mariott property again and will discourage all friends and family to look elsewhere when seeking hotel. To you yelpers Elite and non-elite alike: you should really consider where you chose to spend your hard earned/saved money. Would you chose a brand that truly is the definition of their industry (hospitable) or a brand that does not have the kindness to help you when faced with one of life's most challenging situations in adulthood (unemployment)? I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are really clean, and set up with modern furniture and appliances. I loved the shower and bathroom area. Spacious and nice water pressure. It was also quiet and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast here is pretty decent. A lot of options The staff was super nice . They are dog friendly and were really cool to my dog. I appreciated that they offered her a dog biscuit. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. I would definitely come back and stay here. read more

Nice oversized room, with a full kitchen and full sized refrigerator. Bed was comfortable but the bedding at the residence inns is always a little cheaper than a real Marriott. Service was nice enough. They have free keg beer in the evenings with some appetizers during happy hour, which is a nice touch. Free breakfast as well- nothing special, but the price was right and it did the job. Dothan isn't New York City, but there some dining options at the strip mall right across the street if you don't feel like driving. read more

Very clean hotel and exceptionally quiet. Located near plenty of shopping and restaurants. My only issue was not having ice machines so you have to ask the front desk and the breakfast Buffett has waffles, eggs and sausage along with plenty of other items. Make sure you get there early because they will be out of items before closing. I had numerous issues with my key fob not working which was inconvenient when I parked on the end of the building. Front desk super friendly although upon checking in there was an older gentleman who I assume was a manager leaving for the day so I couldn't get a word in to the clerk since he was talking loudly saying his farewell to the staff. I found this very rude because I had to wait until he left yo check in because it was apparent he was trying to get everyone to notice him. Gym is small with just a few cardio machines Although I had a do not disturb located on my door housekeeping insisted on knocking anyways eve though I wasn't checking out for a couple days. Once the housekeeper walked right in when she didn't see me but not a big deal. I would definitely stay again. Although nothing really impressed me it served its purpose. read more

Stayed here 2 nights with my family .. space is great in the room with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and a pull out bed in the living room .. air conditioner works great and room was pretty clean upon arrival.. no bugs and no funny smells. Had to ask for new sheets for the pull out bed .The ones in the bag were smelling like a old sweaty man .. upon calling to get new ones .. i was informed due to being at full capacity.. we may not be able to get new ones .. but we did get some. Beds were comfy but the shower was not that clean .. especially the shower liner .. it needs to be changed a long time ago. Breakfast was fine .. waffle maker needed some non stick spray but we just figured out to use butter packets to get it out successfully.There was dry cereal,bagels, waffles, boiled and scrambled eggs, gluten free bagels,sausage,potatoes yogart, pineapple were the only fruit and orange or cranberry juice only .. no alternative milk allergy options.. My complaints are no room service to my room when I returned.. trash was still there ! Was told that the room service was only until 11 am after that .. you're on your own .. but they will bring you fresh towels..The dirty shower .. the weird marks/stains on the headboard and the stains on the pillows of the couch .Also,the arm of couch was filthy and there was a large scuff mark on the wall . read more

For once in a VERY LONG time, I don't have anything to complain about! We booked our stay with Orbitz(never again) and they overcharged us BUT the young lady at the front desk Ms Kaitlyn(spelled wrong but started with a K) stepped right in and handled it, gave us our military discount and a better rate for our troubles from Orbitz. Breakfast was on time, HOT & never empty. Now let's talk about the room....WOWWWWW is the word on top of my thoughts. From the front door to the bathroom it was CLEAN, SPACIOUS & ATTRACTIVE AS HELL! I don't know who the housekeepers are but shout out to them as well! I am a VERY hard person to please when it comes to hotel stays and other people's food but I don't have anything for once to complain about! Management make sure you tell your staff from the Scotts, GREAT JOB & when or if we return we definitely will be staying at your hotel! read more

Home away from home This place is great. Rooms all have well thought out living space with small kitchen. Free Wifi. Free breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, etc (coffee in the room as well ). You feel like you are living here. Not just a place to flop down at night. read more

Hotel management is of such poor quality and lacks the quality customer service representation that Marriott has been know to exhibit. I was talking about my account with the manager named Tiffany who clearly had an attitude (I saw this once before as she handled other people) and while I was still talking she picked up the phone and began holding a conversation. No excuse me for one minute or anything. After 43 days and $3550 paid for staying- I expected better customer service. Bottom line: Get better with the service that WE are paying to have or find another job! read more

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are nicely decorated and don't feel cramped at all even with a kitchen, desk, den and bed all in one room. It is located near several restaurants and stores including Logan's Roadhouse (across the street), Arby's (directly in front of hotel), Wal-Mart and a large shopping center. Within 5 to 10 minutes are several other places to grab a bite to eat including T.G.I Friday's, Ruby Tuesday, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden and Hooters. read more

I had never stayed at a residence inn, but if they're all like this, it could become a habit. The room was well decorated and huge with a flat screen that swiveled around from the living area to the bed. The whole place looked new. Our room was located next to a mechanical room which must have had some defective equipment because there was a loud and unnatural rattling. When we complained they switched our room. Breakfast was included in the price, and it was really good with a spread I haven't seen at other hotels. The fruit and yogurt parfait was as good as mcdonalds, and the muffins tasted fresh. read more

My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had hot and cold choices with a few option changes each day. The Fitness Center had several machines and I found the exercise bike in good working order. I left some clothes and have been told by Tiffany (Manager) they'll be sent. Staff was warm and friendly.
