Despite the elevator being out of service - waiting on parts, we had a great stay. Staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Hotel cafe served really good breakfast to order & our server was a real gem. Room was clean & well maintained, nice furnishings. We'll be back. read more

This hotel stay was VERY disappointing especially for a Hilton. The rooms are very outdated and dusty. The adjoining room door didn't lock and for a single female that's a no thank you so I requested to switch rooms. Tykeria a newer staff member, was very friendly, helpful and apologetic though! Here for work and the wi-fi is down. This is the most basic hotel and don't let them trick you by saying they have a resteraunt here because it's actually some chairs and tables; 10$ for a yogurt bowl? Get the heck out of here Won't be back, probably won't use Hilton Garden Inns anymore at all ...... read more

Stayed at HILTON Garden Inn @ Dothan, AL MAY 2025. The Stay was APPALLING. 1. Tried to put some items in the Freezer Section of Refrigerator and could not, the freezer section was unattached from the top and hanging down inside. Had to go to Front Desk and complain and Maintenance guy had to fix the freezer so it attached inside. 2. Wanted to get some Ice and noticed NO BAG. Again went to Front Desk and got an Ice Bag that the cleaning lady should have left in the room. 3. Go down the hall and get ice, back at room looked everywhere for the ice bucket lid, no lid anywhere. Go to front desk again and ask for lid, clerk says she will have to go to 2nd floor to get me a lid. She NEVER SHOWED UP WITH ANOTHER LID. So I had to keep ice bucket in refrigerator to keep from melting so fast. 4. Start to prep for coffee next morning, and nothing but Decaf & Tea. No regular coffee. Again, after many trips to front desk, ask for regular coffee packs. 5. When bathroom light is on, the fan that runs continuously has a LOUD racket-noise to it. No way to stop it. LOUD noise continuously when in bathroom, night & day. 6. The overhead light at the room entryway flickers constantly. It "flickers" & "quivers" continually when on and is VERY DISTRACTING when trying to watch TV. Summary: OUR ROOM WAS SO DISGUSTINGLY BAD BAD BAD! There is no damn way a visitor should have to give up any $$$ to stay in a disgusting room with all these DEFICIENCIES. And, to have maid service so negligent in preparing a room for stay, and a clerk at front desk to lie to a customer and never show up or even call about the missing lid; all this just shows how poorly management and employees are at this Garden Inn location. read more

I didn't find anything really special about this hotel. I'm a top tier rewards member and am usually acknowledged and thanked at check it. But not here. Now the staff was nice and so was my room. But the room setup has the bathroom door blocking the entrance door when opened...weird. There's lots of eating options in the local area. There was an option for their breakfast but I passed. I believe they have their own bar/restaurant. They also have a pool here! Plenty of parking so no problem there. You're also close to the airport but far enough away you don't hear aircraft. Now road noise is another issue. This place is located on one of the city's busiest streets...so expect to hear it including high volume stereos, motors, and big rigs. But it's not too bad. I've stayed here a couple times now when passing through town. No objections to staying here again as long as the price is right. read more

We are diamond members so we have lots of Hilton experience. I had high hopes for this property. It wasn't dirty and seemed to be pretty nice upon arrival. Stayed on bottom floor and ceiling are super tall so the room felt huge! Tv barely works. The screen is barely visible. Cabinet hinges were causing the cabinet door to almost literally fall off. Shower nozzle wouldn't work half the time and you couldn't get the water on. There were dogs on both sides of us and they got into a fight in the hallway. We had a baby next to us who cried from 10pm-12am and the started it back up at 7am on the dot. The parents just let it keep on rolling. We have 5 kids and we would have driven our child around or something. There was almost literally NEVER an employee at the desk. Just really disappointed especially with the price point. read more

My fiancés and I got stuck here a little longer than intended due to car issues and Tiffany at the front desk was so helpful and kind. She made sure we were taken care of and was genuinely just a good person. We have not even been here 24 hours but I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone just because of the generosity and hospitality. The rooms were clean and so comfy, and the breakfast is also amazing as well. read more

This hotel has gone down hill. Just checked out today and will be my last time ever staying . The hotel is very outdated . Old dirty carpet and tired furniture . My room had no toilet paper. Called 3 times and still no one came to bring it up. Shower and bathroom were dirty stains /splatter on the walls. Front desk not helpful at all. The only bright spot is the waitress Jackie that works in restaurant . Don't go and spend 300.00 for a rundown , dirty room. I'm a diamond member and this Hilton is the worst I have ever stayed at. Never again and sad because I'm a business traveler this hotel used to be nice . Workout room equipment treadmills all broken too! Such a rip off ! Go somewhere else in Dothan! Don't waste your time and money . I give it one star for the fabulous waitress Jackie who deserves a raise for still working here! She is fabulous and hard working . She needs to train the other staff on customer service . read more

A solid HGI. Within walking distance of several restaurants and driving distance to everything else. The best reason to stay at HGI is their breakfast and this location holds true with that. Also a great gym. If you plan to stay in Dothan this is your best bet. read more

Hilton Garden Inn Dothan - Hotels Near Me - Dothan, Alabama

Me and my buddy are travel nurses working at a hospital nearby and have been staying at several different hotels in and around Dothan. we only really care about TWO things-- the bed and the hot water (well, that and how dark the room gets since we work nightshift) hahaha I wish this place wasn't so expensive (and had hot water for showers) because we'd stay here every week we work! After the nightmare room we walked in to at the Red Roof Inn down the street, we called this HGI to see (beg and plead) if we could check in there that morning (it was about 8am). The lady on the phone was incredibly nice and allowed us to come and check in right then! Price was about $50 more per night than what Expedia/booking.com reflected because "the prices JUST updated when we walked in" but whatever, we were being allowed to check in at 8am after working 13 of the previous hours. Room was unbelievably nice and the blackout pull-down shade in the room made the room super conducive to us day-sleepers. The beds and pillows were really really comfortable. Bathroom was pretty nice and clean with really nice huge bath towels. Hot water was a joke unfortunately. We chalked it up to being limited hot water from everyone using it that morning but when we woke up that night for work, the water was just as depressingly tepid. But man, those room-darkening shades... haven't slept that good this entire time we've been working in Dothan haha Pros: -HELLA comfortable beds/pillows -REALLY nice and accommodating staff -REALLY dark shades for daytime sleeping -Nice location Cons: -Pretty pricy -Water about as warm spit -Breakfast not included for such a high price-per-night rate read more

Stayed here three times and I keep coming back. The service is great, the staff is very inviting, and it's a nice clean and comfortable place to stay. The location is great! The hotel is across from Really good food and a shopping strip with BB and Beyond, Ulta's, Target, Walmart is down the street and it's just surrounded by stores and food. The airport is really close, like 7 minutes and the most important part is it is an easy drive, just a long country road for about 4 minutes (be on the lookout for the cows) then you turn on Montgomery highway the main road and there is the hotel! The pillows are so comfy and the beds can be adjusted for comfort and the air conditioning is really good. I didn't hear people taking in their rooms so it must be pretty sound proof. The bar area is laid back, cozy and nice. There is a nice area to just read near the front desk and a good outdoor patio. I didn't try the pool but it looked very nice! There is a workout room which was a decent size. They also have a business room, it only has two computers but I've never had to wait to use one if I needed to print something. They have free coffee, free cookies, and free water! Oh, they gave me free stamp to mail something! If you get there at night you might not find a place to park in the front. I suggest parking on the Montgomery road side as the other side is too isolated, there is a card key on both sides. If you park on the Mont... side you come right out at the elevator. Nice hotel, nice food and nice people! read more

First time in Alabama! Visiting for work going to be here for the next four weeks and I am happy to be staying here. Constance at the front desk is absolutely loving and kind. I had some mail to be sent out and she said she would take care of it for me. She will ask the manager for some stamps and have it's on its merry way. Talk about service! Great job. Gym is small three aerobic machines and dumbbells up to 50. They do have an all in one machine so that'll get the job done. Pool is there and a kitchen open till 10. read more

After staying in several hotels in Dothan this year... This is your only real option. The staff was friendly, the cookies were tasty, and the bed was comfortable. What else can you ask for? Gym: Well updated and appointed for a hotel gym. Pool: Looked nice. Room: Large and comfortable. Except for the couch...that thing was more of a medieval torture device than a lounge area. Oh yeah and the tv was tiny I felt like I was back in 2004. Staff: Super friendly and professional Parking: Well lit and easily accessible read more

I've stayed at many HG Inns across the country and this was the dirtiest. Because of my Hilton Honors membership I stayed here several times in 2022 for multiple days. On my last stay, the bathroom wasn't cleaned from the prior guest, leaving the mirror covered in toothpaste splatter. Despite our request for room cleaning, we could not get it cleaned or even the garbage taken out during our stay. The desk told us that their cleaning crew does a poor job. So management knows cleaning is inadequate. read more

Came to get away from hurricane Irma and it's been a fantastic experience. Tonight the manager arraigned a mostaccoli dinner FOR FREE for Florida refugees. Quality people here and while nerves are at an all time high I can't compliment them enough. Well done, well done. read more

Anywhere else I would rate this HGI as 3 stars but this location is nicer than other hotels in the area so they get the extra bump. pros: great location, newly upgraded lobby and rooms (including new Keurig coffee machines) cons: weird entrance and exit (can't turn left across the highway) I would definitely stay here again if were back in the area. read more

Our business plans got extended in Dothan. The Courtyard was doing maintenance so we switched to the Hilton Garden Inn. Wow new hotel, very nice. Great service at the front desk. Great rooms. They have the new sleep comfort beds for Hilton. They were nice you can adjust the firmness. It is right near a bunch of restaurants and other activities. read more

Hotel is good but the staff at the front desk last night 3/17, non-existent and rude when she finally showed up. Sorry we woke you!

Poor, poor, poor customer relations. I made a reservation (in person) at this local on Saturday morning. We were having our kitchen remodeled and since we work opposite schedules, we decided to move out for the week. I went to the hotel to make a reservation and did since I was having little luck with other hotels. The desk agent was very helpful while making the reservation, very friendly and talkative. She never gave me a confirmation number or discussed cancellation policy. I was concerned about the construction being completed on the entire 1st floor, since I work nights and would be trying to sleep during the day. ( I mean this was part of the decision to get a hotel in the first place). Once I returned home I found out that we could get a reservation at a true extended stay hotel with better amenities suited to our needs. I called and cancelled the reservation at this location and was told simply ok. There was no mention of a cancellation policy at this time either. A week passed and we moved back into the house I checked my credit card statement and had a charge of 222.69. I called the local property and asked about the charge, I was told they have a 48 hour cancellation policy and that was the 1 night cancellation fee. I told the lady who I was speaking to, that no one told me of the policy and if had I would not have made the reservation. She said I can't help you, that is our policy. I said so you're telling me that no one at this location you can help me with this matter. The lady on the phone immediately told me that I would get no where with this issue by speaking to her in this matter. She began telling me that I could surely call corporate, and I admit in a harsh voice I said 'oh I surely will' and hung up. I called the on-line number to speak to someone, after holding for 10-15 minutes so,some answered, I explained the situation. I was not going to pay for services that were never provided. The lady who I spoke to at this end did not believe my story and told me she would have to investigate. I agreed. She called the local property and "they couldn't find my reservation " I told her I had just spoken to the local property and they had pulled up my reservation. She then changed her story and said that my reservation was coded incorrectly. She put me on hold for another 20 minutes, came back on the line to tell me that the department that I needed to speak to was very busy, and that I could hold or call back at another time. Well, I am stubborn .... I told her that I would wait.... the lady was very dissatisfied with my answer and reluctantly put me back on hold. I waited another 20 minutes, and was hung up on. I immediately called visa and challenged the charge, which I have never done. I only expected the local property to try to help me correct the problem. I was a district manager for a large corporation and told my 22 store managers, their first priority was to make the customers happy and to create future customers. They had the power to make decisions to maintain their good standing in their local communities. I expect the same treatment when I spend my hard earned money. Just an after thought, the hotel I stayed in was directly across the street and offered many more amenities. This property was totally booked, so they didn't loose any revenue from my cancellation. It will be a long time before I have the urge to try one of your properties again. read more

We had a great experience at this property last weekend. We had to overcome a few challenges at check in (room not ready- no feathers required due to severe allergies) but the staff did everything to accommodate us and got us into another room quickly. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. You won't be disappointed. read more

For $125 in the middle of nowhere you get no included breakfast and no staff member ever working at the bar/restaurant area. Very professional and courteous staff. Greeted me by name. Clean comfy room with HDTV and a verrrry cool air conditioner. Breakfast was good and the printer worked in the business center! Okay hotel. The beds at Hilton Garden Inn are terrible. I always stay within the Hilton family when I travel and will not stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again. Besides the terrible bed the hotel is nice & clean. The staff is nice and welcoming. read more

Spent a week at this hotel. It was the nicest hotel stay we have had in several years. The hotel - rooms and all amenities were superb. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were more than friendly and uber helpful. The room was very nice and very clean. Fitness center was more than adequate. Self Laundry facilities were clean and we were thankful to have them. Breakfast is not free, $10 range per person, but was delicious. Business center was private, quiet. In room free WiFi worked great. If we were traveling with our children we would not have stayed here, we need free breakfast and the ability to have our pets with us. For business travel it was great and we would stay here again. Across the street from Target and plenty of restaurants. read more

Very clean, great rooms, beds, shower, pool and hot tub. Fresh cookies at the front desk, what more could you ask for.

My hubby and I stayed here during our wedding weekend, and we could not have been happier with our choice! Dothan is still up and coming, and there aren't any "luxury" hotels in the area that compare to the swankiness of Los Angeles. Traveling back home to Dothan from LA for our wedding made it a bit of a challenge to find the right type of accommodations, but Hilton Garden Inn came through! While searching for a room, I literally searched for the largest suite I could find in Dothan, and the Hilton Garden Inn "King Suite" fit the part. Booking was easy, the staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, accompanied by complimentary beverages each morning. The room and hotel were extremely clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend staying here to others, and I plan on staying here again next year for my brother's wedding! read more

The hotel itself was very nice. It was clean, professional and really well put together. The gym was one of the nicer one's I've seen in a hotel before. The only down fall was the beds. I was not a big fan of the beds. Other then that I thought it was a great place to stay. read more

The Garden Inn in Dothan is a great place to stay -- convenient, clean and a great breakfast. But what makes them stand out is the staff is extremely competent and nice.
