It's located right on the main drag in Dothan and as such, restaurants, gas and shopping are readily accessible. The breakfast was simple and tasty. Plenty of warm and cold options to choose from. I especially loved their layout of snack items and drinks in their little store. I would gladly return to this hotel. My Diamond member status was oddly never recognized by the staff nor did they have Diamond Member parking. This was odd and the only reason they didn't receive a fifth star.

The location is very convenient to restaurants and shopping and is in the heart of Dothan. The breakfast seems nice although we didn't eat because it was over Christmas and we were eating with family. There is a pool, basketball court and outdoor seating with a gas grill. There is also a small gym for those that must keep up their fitness on the road. The room was nice and had everything we needed. Like any Residence Inn, it had a full kitchen set-up (minus an oven). We did have some questionable charges (pending) on our final bill but Tiffany (the Manager) was so nice and helpful! She was able to explain the system and asked us to call her personally if we had any issues. I called the hotel to see if they would be reasonable and assist me with the situation, not only as a courtesy, but being a bonvoy member. I received conflicting information. The folks at the 800 number (multiple calls) said they would open a case and they were sure I would be refunded under the circumstances. I had to call the hotel itself (this hotel) and the manager refused to help me out. Before you book at this hotel, please consider this: do you want to stay at a huge chain hotel that has zero humanity during the holidays when you are faced with extraordinary circumstances? I would not recommend this property or ANY Mariott property for that fact. It is a terrible situation and they have no obligation to me, but I will NEVER book with any Mariott property again and will discourage all friends and family to look elsewhere when seeking hotel. To you yelpers Elite and non-elite alike: you should really consider where you chose to spend your hard earned/saved money. The hotel itself had a pleasant smell and was very quiet. When we first checked in we were shocked to find a very filthy toilet. We asked the front desk to send someone to clean it and they arrived promptly with no problem. Thinking all was well. When it came to getting ready to settle in for the night we found that the shower door was completely removed from the hinges and was actually leaning against the inside of the shower to stand! Not only is this extremely dangerous but it also indicates that the shower was not cleaned by housekeeping because if it was then we would've never been put in the room. With this, we were offered a new and upgraded room by the front desk. We were given a new key and asked to inspect the room before we moved our things. Everything was fine except for the air conditioning in the bedroom was broken. At this point it was 2a and we just turned up the air conditioner in the living room area and hoped for the best. Breakfast was offered until 10:30 on the weekend. The breakfast was alright. There was no fresh fruit offered which I think would've been a very good addition. Check out was easy... until we looked at the bill. They created additional charges for the new room we were moved to due to the fact that we were unable to shower in the previous room.

The beds are quite comfortable and you can tell that they've gone through a massive referb recently. In reading some of the reviews it lists this as a holiday inn in Dothan and that is not the case. This is a true DoubleTree by Hilton. They have a pool as well as a great outdoor area that includes fire pits, and a cornhole pit. There's also a restaurant that's available as well as a bar. There is convention space here as well.

The lot is well lit at night and there is adequate parking for the number of rooms. The rooms, lobby, and food areas are typical for a Comfort Inn. The pool looks well-kept (not used because I visit during January). The hallway carpets look dingy and drab and like it needs a steam-vaccuming. The fitness room was a sad affair, with 2 of the 4 machines operational. (NOTE: If the treadmill isn't starting, check the emergency magnet in the middle). The washer was also non-opperational. The staff was mostly friendly. I overheard gossip about Sarah, complaining about a visitor, and about an hour of mobile game beeping from an employee's phone that was (as best as I could tell) at full volume. The room was clean. I do to a hotel to relax in the evening and like to watch TV and have a TV on during the night help me to sleep. Out TV would only stay on for about 15 minutes then go back to a start menu ALL NIGHT LONG. I called front desk all they said was turn it off the wait 15 minutes and turn back on..I did this many many times, I slept horrible as did my husband. Told the front desk when we came down for breakfast and Donna (desk Clerk) told us that they just switched to new TV Service the day before and had no idea what to so about it. I dont think i will stay with another LaQuinta again. My stay should have been better and i paid good money i quess to try and work on the TV and front desk really didnt care.
