Their tech came out to fertilize my lawn. I'm a longtime customer. He burnt my grass and my neighbors in many spots. He returned after I called and said yes it was his fault. In the meantime I have to live with ugly lawn, the whole rest of the year, I also have to water at my own time and expense When I called to complainthey offered no compensation for your time or your water bill instead they will be out in the fall to overseed and core aerate in the fall. Here folks you have a lawn care company that has no restoration service when they screw up very disappointed in their response. I will no longer be using them starting after this year. I would normally be giving this company five stars But not this time , I told this company the end of last year that I was purchasing a home in Southern Illinois and I would not be renewing my service with them. I assumed that that was the end of our business relationship after I moved, but . I received a request for recommendations on the service. they had given me with a charge so I gave them a recommendation of one star because I never requested service. or accepted so she was pretty rude on the telephone when I told her-that (I don't live there and that's why) they've called me a few times I had a lady Iona from rolling Meadows call this morning rude telling me that service was on the 15th as I asked her several times the 15th of what she finally grasped, and took a breath and said sarcastically said March, which was only a couple days ago. Why would they be asking me a while ago to review a service that they hadn't even given me Then??? With a invoice??? then again told her I didn't live there that I had moved in Jan. 2025 she said that it was not in my records. (Not my problem) they're not keeping good records. and that I had moved. they did a service at my old house without my permission, and she said we will ! split the bill with you. Pay half of it and we'll write off the other half. I started laughing. I could not believe that she would actually suggest that I pay for half a bill for service I never signed up or requested! Times are getting tough and businesses are getting bad. check your invoices and paperwork before you start paying any bills to make for legit. LR read more

I've been with Spring Green for a few years. All was well until I asked how much would it be to add over seeding and I was told 245 dollars or something close to that and I said no . That's a lot. So what did they do. Seaded and billed me for it. They only charged me 100 dollars but still I said NO. Won't be renewing. read more

I had their service last year they did not spray the yard for weeds they spot weed spray sometimes where they sprayed it killed my grass. they said they would do better this year so I tried. it was the same thing. said they only spot-kill weeds. no good go with someone else. they would not give a full refund the worst. read more

We had a tree removed and had a fungus in the yard. Spring Green said it was not a fungus, they could not help. We had a lot f dead spots this summer and a LOT of Crab grass. Spring Green stated it was not a problem it would die off this winter. It was a problem last year and now we have something rampant n our flower beds. They also fertilize the side walk and it had turned dark, but they stated their weed control does not cover the driveway cracks! Oh well. read more

When you call your put on hold and the calls drop and if you do speak with someone they can't answer your question. I've requested a refund as I paid for the entire season but no one contacts you. I have used Spring Green for 2 years now. My backyard grass is destroyed. Half of it has died. I found out that I have a severe case of grubs. Not only was it not included in the package I brought, no one said anything when they saw how terrible it was. No one tried to sell me a grub control. I would never recommend them to anyone. Unless you want to do back breaking work or if scraping up dead grass and reseeding. read more

Auto renewal policy is a scam even if the customer doesn't want to continue with them. You should have customer's consent before renewing or continuing the service. I bought a package online for 6 treatments and paid in advance and did not agree to continue the service nor signed a contract. I moved out of my place a year ago. I got the past due bill in my current address, but nothing before hand. No consent no service continuation, that's it unless you signed a contract. Example, you buy insurance policy for 6 months. Before it expires you get renewal letter and you have to make a payment/agree if you want to continue. No payments, no insurance. For Spring Green, they don't care. They come and do it, but did you ask me if I want to continue. You should change this policy. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!!! Had to spend few "unnecessary" hours on the phone arguing. Ended up paying the half of two treatments, that they claim "did", which they seem to offer to anyone in my situation. read more

I caught their representative Jeremy not spraying my entire yard. He figured I was not home so he would do half the job. They still left the bill though. Do yourself a favor and don't hire these guys. When you call talk to talk to someone, you get a voicemail and that's all. This is one of the worst companies I've ever done business with. Spring Green offered a 20% discount and a FREE aeration last March. So we canceled our services with Tru Green, and prepaid for one year. When I called last week to schedule the aeration, I was told that they had no record of this and that we actually received a grub control service as our FREE service. When I explained that was not the deal we signed up for, I was told l could order the aeration now and get half off the cost of $54.95. I was upset to say the least and asked to speak with a manager. A Katherine called me back and apologized and said there was a data entry error on their part and she would schedule the aeration service. All good, right? Wrong. The service guy came by yesterday and aerated our front yard but could not get his aerator into out backyard because the sidewalk was too narrow. Ok, no problem. I called Katherine to get a credit since only half of the $54.95 cost (which included front and back yard) of the aeration was performed. I was told no credit could be given because it was a FREE service. But I could get a FREE aeration if we signed up for another year. What? No thanks. Only half of the what was promised was delivered. Very disappointed in the way this was handled. She could have offered overseeding, or something else as compensation. We will look for another lawn service next spring since this was a bad experience all around. Say no to Spring Green. read more

When I was supposed to get my lawn treatment, I was home and also caught it in the camera, the man unrolled the hose, took it to the backyard, didn't spray anything and then rolled it back up. He then came out and just sprayed a few weeds individually. He did leave an invoice stating I had gotten the Spring Maximizer. Another Neightbor with cameras said he saw the same thing. Just had our 3rd treatment which was infuriating because we had no advance notice they were coming and had no idea they had been here until I opened the front door and the invoice fell off. There was no yellow flag in the yard as was done during the prior treatments. Not knowing they had been here I had my grand daughter playing in the yard barefooted for two hours after the treatment. I bathed her off as soon as I saw the invoice. Had I known they were coming we would NOT have been playing in the grass. The woman at customer support blamed me for not "requesting" notification, although I was told by them that they do as standard practice. She minimized the potential effects stating it's safe for children and pets. That's her opinion and not her call to make. That's my call. The second application was done two hours prior to a very heavy rainfall. Again I had no advance notice and again she blamed me because I had not informed them not to come out. Really now. There was a storm warning in affect and this deluge had been predicted for days so why would I think to call them not to come out when they state they won't treat if heavy rains are expected and besides, I didn't know they were coming! The only good treatment was the first one. The third treatment will be their last. read more

Truly lousy service - have complained MULTIPLE times about crab grass and creepinig charlie that hasn't been killed by pray applications - including multiple supposed resprays. They claim they send people out to addres this - but Weeds thrive with their treatments. read more

Overall, I've been very happy with service I've received from Spring-Green Lawn Care. I have been a customer since 2016 and my yard looks great. I don't have any dandelions or crabgrass. You can even see where the line of dandelions starts in the neighbor's yard so I know that these guys are spraying the yard properly. The only thing I would suggest is better coverage for the Perimeter Pest Control. I see them spray close to the house but would like to see the two foot radius. Each spring we get ants infiltrating but they do get eradicated by the second service. The pricing is fairly competitive and I've had no issues. If you want your lawn to look good, Spring-Green by itself will not be enough. You will need to have good care overall incl. mowing and watering. read more

I signed up for Spring-Green this year. They applied their first application in early April. By the early May, my lawn is full of dandelions. When I call them, they said that you can prevent dandelion from sprouting. When they do the next treatment by end of May they will weed killer to get rid of it. I never bought that theory. I used Scott fertilizer prior to that and never had dandelion problem. Nor any of my neighbors have dandelion problem. read more

I have had to call them to come back for danilions. They do not spray close to the edges of where the grass meets the sidewalk. They don't spray around my mailbox by the street. Other than that there just ok. No phone call saying they were coming out so I can get my dog out to pee otherwise he has to wait hours to go out. read more
