Couldn't be happier with Emerald. My lawn is actually emerald now. I mean vibrant emerald city color! We've also been using the perimeter bug spray service...haven't seen one ant, spider, or any other creepy crawly. Two snaps and a twirl for that. read more

Long time customer, noticed they keep trying to upsell. Got a call saying they wanted to put lime down, asked how much and the guy said 30% off. That's not a price, then he said 79, I said no, he came back at 59. I'm not into lets make a deal. They make it nearly impossible to cancel the service going from one agent to another trying to keep your business. Hopefully I am done with them. read more

The tech rang the doorbell then left. I got a bill and they automatically deducted it from my account without my consen. I requested a call back and the company never acted on it. Keep in mind I have been a long time customer for them so who knows how long they have been doing this. read more

This used to be a very high quality reputable company but not anymore. They have become awful just like Weedman was. Just horrible company functioning of their service. Not only this, you are battered endlessly by emails and texts constantly! If you do order a service for just one time at that moment application, it is automatically put on an automated yearly service and you are not advised of this at all. I even specifically mentioned that I wanted a one time treatment ONLY to the phone rep and STILL was put on automatic every year service. I called a manager who said he would totally take care of this situation AND IT STILL HAPPENED AGAIN NOW THIS YEAR!!! The CS rep then said she will have a manager call me now again and I told her "NO I AM CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT FOR GOOD AND WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND YOUR COMPANY EVER AGAIN!" read more

I scheduled an appointment with Emerald Lawn Care for a lawn service quote, and their sales representative no-call, no-showed twice. I understand that things happen and appointments sometimes get missed. However, missing two scheduled appointments with absolutely no call, text, or communication is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Taking time out of my day twice to meet with someone who simply doesn't show up shows a complete lack of respect for a potential customer's time. If this is how they handle basic scheduling and communication before even becoming a customer, it does not give much confidence in how they operate their business. Very disappointing experience. read more

Used Weedman for 2 years, never an issue, worked very fast. Also safe for the dogs. My wife took it on her own to use them for some reason. Clipped her up front, they win, you lose if no good as with us. Who knows, they said their chemicals are safe for dogs as WEENMAN, yet nothing in writing, I wonder why. Because they have not killed any weeds on two visits, there is, of course, an issue. Going to pass flyers out to all our neighbors about this bait/switch read more

Watch out for emerald lawn care. Used them and was told they would remove my wild violet in 1 season. Did not work so cancelled after 1 season. They came out the next season and billed me as if I had never cancelled. read more

I've used Emerald Lawn Care for a decade now. They discuss, up front, all the options with the pros and cons. I went for the 6 applications per year. Every time, they come promptly and do a great job. My lawn has looked wonderful - to the point that my next door neighbor signed up as well. They let me know if something needs attention. read more

Emerald has always been great to work with. They have knowledgeable staff and have transformed my lawn over the last 2 years since I moved in. We went from having one of the worst lawns in the neighborhood, to one of the thickest and greenest lawns. Glad I went with them over other places like TruGreen. The TruGreen lawns in my neighborhood are some of the worst looking lawns. I would highly recommend Emerald, and have already referred a few friends and family to them who have also been highly satisfied with their services. read more

Pushed expensive service into next year that didn't need. Must take or can't do other things. Bad recommendation from another service. Can't find as a customer because of the above dancing around required contracts before proving you can even do the job. read more

I used Emerald for 5 years and was happy with them in the beginning. However it seems as the quality has gone down considerably over the last year or so, as the last few applications were not done very well. I called them a week or so later to let them know that I really wasn't very happy with how many weeds were still in my lawn. After sending them pictures Eric G. texted me back and stated that the lawn was just to thin, and if I wanted them to come back and treat it they would charge me again. Needless to say if I'm going to pay for an additional application, it will be with another service. Considering that their prices have gone up over the years (which is expected) I thought the service would still be consistently good. This is not the case. They easily could have kept a customer happy by just coming back out and doing a spot spray, but it's clear that keeping customers happy is no longer high on their agenda. Such a shame. read more

I've used Emerald Lawn Care for one year. They are very reliable and responsive. I've got a tough creeping charlie problem that I'm hoping will get better in the second year. read more

I must say I was very Leary on getting my lawn back from looking like an Arizona desert, they did a great job. See the before and after pictures. They are coming back with fertilizer in December to kill all the weeds. And one other treatment. Thank you ELC. Hats off to your team. read more

Had to cancel their service as price was too high and my front lawn kept getting worse every year than better.

Unfortunately, I am out of Emerald Lawn Care's service area. So, why the review? Because not only did the company write me back to let me know, but they offered suggestions on lawn services closer to me. THAT'S customer service - and I'm not even a customer, sadly. (I really wish I was because based on communications with them, I can tell they're a stand-out operation.) Thank you, Tracey, for helping me out! read more

We have used their service for years now, and we can say that it makes all the difference. We would certainly recommend Emerald!

My lawn was looking bad, my neighbor said she used Emerald Lawn care. I would have never believed the results would be so fast! Plus, after I received my original quote, they called back and lowered it due to noticing I have a large patio area (less lawn). What!?! I can not recommend this lawn care service enough. I am so pleased. Another neighbor has asked who I used as she has noticed the change. read more

DO NOT USE! I too fell for the all the stars and a personal recommendation. When I signed up, I clearly voiced my concerns my lawn, mainly weeds, and was assured that my lawn was in good hands. FYI, when they come out and see weeds in your lawn, they spit treat them. I live on 1 acre, and can assure you they did not spot treat the acre! Can you imagine? You'd be out there all day! My lawn went from looking not so great to horrible AFTER service w them. They say 100% satisfaction guarantee, but they do not stand by it. I was told that they cannot prevent weeds but can only treat them and that I needed to adjust my expectations. Why didn't they say that to me upfront before taking my money? Half way thru the season the manager tells me we are not a good fit and decided there wasn't anything more they could do for me. I have pics with a weed infested lawn. My neighbors who had worse grass than me, went with a big box company at a fraction of the cost I was paying, and their lawn looks a hundred times better than mine. I thought going w a smaller company, they'd offer a more personalized approach and take better care of their clients. Do yourself a favor, and keep looking if you're looking for lawn care. read more

Still loving Emerald!!! Saw the post-service card on my porch and thought to myself, "Darn, I meant to ask them to look at our spruce trees, I think they may need to be treated again". Looked at the notes to see that they were treated! For no charge (because they had extra product on hand)! Very happy with this company. read more

We just started using Emerald Lawn Care, and I am already beyond pleased. Their customer service is friendly and responsive, their quotes were very reasonable, and their application technician was very knowledgeable - making some great recommendations for our lawn/weed-killing needs. After years of using a so-so big-name lawn care service, I am very happy with our change. read more

To say how pleased I am with Emerald Lawn Care would be an understatement. Not only does Emerald Lawn Care do amazing work, but they truly care about the happiness of their customers. Working with Emerald along with David, Mark, and Tracy has been a very great experience and I love the way my lawn looks too. When looking at companies, this is exactly the type of business and values I love to patronize. read more

After a few years with Emerald Lawn Care, our backyard lawn has shown much improvement. The front lawn, not so. When I walk through the neighborhood I see some lush lawns and wish ours could look the same. It seems that the Emerald staff members are earnest and willing but I'm hoping for better results next year. We are mowing at the proper height and watering the recommended amount. Maybe we are asking too much of a 70-year-old lawn. Adding new seed is difficult with the timing of the lawn care treatments. Also, if we are on the schedule, it would be good to know in advance to adjust our timing of mowing or raking leaves. read more

So happy with Emerald Lawn Care. After searching all options in the area I'm glad I decided to go with them. Two weeks after the 1st weed application the customer service rep was out here checking to see how everything looked and if I had any questions. They also email info on everything they did and what to expect. I highly recommend them for weed control. read more

I am kicking myself for not reviewing Emerald five years ago! When we moved into our house in Palatine the lawn was a disaster. There were weeds and clover everywhere. And while I love bees, bees + clover + bullmastiffs that try to eat bees = many many swollen bullmastiff eyes/mouths/etc. Emerald whipped that lawn into shape in no time and cared for it perfectly for five years before we moved to California. They were also very respectful of our large garden and raspberry areas that we asked them not to get close to with weed killer or fertilizer. And they always called a day ahead of treatment to give us a heads up, which was so appreciated. Could not ask for better or nicer lawn care people. You cannot go wrong here. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I have to give credit where credit is due. For the past 5 years I've spent countless hours trying to keep my lawn nice and healthy. I've spent a lot of time at Home Depot buying supplies left and right, for the most part I noticed that my lawn was starting to get better but later on it would get into a funk. After some Yelp searches on lawn care professionals, I came across Emerald. From day one they have been extremely helpful and friendly, I've been using them since late April and I have been really happy with the turn around with my lawn. It finally looks healthy and it seems like it'll keep staying like that for years to come. I sit here tipping my hat to the Emerald Lawn Care Team. read more

The Summer of 2020 was tough on our backyard and prompted me to get some professional help. Since lawn health tends to be hyper local I started searching for a reputable lawn care specialist in my neighborhood. Emerald spent time inspecting the lawn and worked with me to come up with a plan to start the healing process. I'm looking forward to seeing the results in about 30 days. Fast and friendly, they communicated better than more expensive landscaping companies who have seemed to have lost their way during the Covid crisis. read more

My home is on a corner and is lined on the parkways with tree's exceeding 50'. These tree's shade my entire parkway and 75% of my area lawn. In the past, BEFORE I CONTRACTED WITH EMERALD LAWN CARE, I used shade growing grass, plugs, and spray on types all to no avail. A co-worker shared his pleasure with Emerald so I took a chance. After a site visit by one of the technicians and the knowledge and expertise he demonstrated i opted to give them a chance. IT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID. I can proudly say my lawn is full, green and weed free. Im so pleased that when i am notified to prepay for the years service and receive a discount for the entire year's treatments, the check is in the mail the same day. If you need help with your lawn, hire Emerald, your neighbors will be envious. JM. Park Ridge Illinois read more

5 years later and we're STILL using Emerald! Have had nothing but positive experiences with this company all these years. They offer a full season pre-payment option (with a discount), which I find is convenient and prefer to have one less thing to have to remember to pay during the year! read more

You can't ask for better customer service. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with Mark, Tracy, and others as I have wanted to minimize chemical exposures to my kids, but still achieve the best lawn I can. Every call I have been amazed with how they never sound annoyed with me, let alone how detailed they are with explanations. I am compelled to write this review, as the money I give them for service doesn't feel like enough for what I have gotten from them. read more

We used this service last summer (2016). The treatment was not effective for my lawn. We did plenty of work ourselves this spring, and the lawn looks great. Yesterday, I was surprised to find an Emerald truck outside, with a guy spraying my lawn (that I had just added seed to, etc.). He indicated that we were signed up... that services "Automatically" renew unless you cancel them. Then he told me that we must be prepaid for the current service, because there was no charge at this time. I called to cancel the services this morning... he indicated that we indeed did have a balance, and that the auto renewal notice is given at the time of purchase and is written on every statement. He was right... it was on my statement, but I did not read the small print at the bottom. My fault, but I would never do business with these guys. Both the lawn treatment and the customer treatment were pitiful. read more

I did not end up hiring this company however i felt like a review was in order. Very nice people, Prompt response regarding quotes and communication. I dropped stars based on the shady pricing scheme. I received 6 different quotes from companies and not one flip flopped pricing like emerald. Every removal or if you deviated from the Package deal, the per application pricing changes and is not set. The other part is that its automatically renewed each year, not a fan myself. Not saying the company is bad but the business model of price changing is a hard pass for me. It just comes off as shady work when 5 other company quotes don't flip flop like that. read more

moving to Emerald Lawn from True Green is just the perfect move. I could have move to them long time ago but was so busy until my wife told me that our lawn is just getting worst with True Green. Lawn has improved not much (some areas has spotty lawn still) but better than True Green. This is my 3rd year with them. all service people are polite as i can see them working on all my security camera...i am just not sure if they do other services such as insects control as last time i called them i was advise to just call someone or do it yourself??? also they have been increasing their service at least 2% a year, not bad but if you want to keep your customer loyal to you then always keeps the same pricing or even better attract them by a small price decreases instead of a small price increases. otherwise consumers will continue switching (we all do) from one provider to another just like car insurance, home insurance, streaming services and hey even for a haircut...the State is so corrupt, worst than a 3rd world country that you get robbed with your hard earned $$$ for all these freeloaders increasing taxes which you can use to pay for some of your services at your home such as this... read more

I have used 3 different companies over the past 10 years and Emerald is head and shoulders above the others. For 3 years, I switched to organic products and it nearly destroyed my lawn. The Emerald service guy promised he could revive it by going back to non-organic and he did within a few months! My neighbors use services and have weeds. I have none and now my lawn looks greener & thicker. This tells me the product Emerald uses is superior. I am moving and wish I could take Emerald with me! read more

This is part 2 of the previous review. We have had 2 slow release fertilizer applications and 1 weed control application so far (in last 2 months). I must say the results are obvious and outstanding. Before we started the applications, I had turf of 2 different colors. One was the new sod which was laid out in a small area and was dark green (as it should be) and the rest of the lawn which was turning yellowish green. There were weeds all over the place and the grass was so hard that one could not walk on the lawn bare feet. After these 3 applications I am happy to report that the entire lawn is now dark green and grass is super soft. The weeds are all gone too. It is amazing to see how much it has improved in last 2 months. We still have crabgrass issue but that is because we could not get the crabgrass pre-emergent done this season due to starting late and having seeded in most areas. However I am confident that we will overcome this issue too with time. Through out this process Mark (the owner) has been very patient with my questions and concerns. He would continously check the progress and health of the lawn by personally doing a tour every couple of weeks and then emailing me his observations and recommendations. He also makes sure I am informed at least 1 day in advance of the upcoming application and that it does not conflict with my scheduled mowing visit. There are still couple of applications pending for this season and I am very confident that they will continue to improve upon the existing conditions and make us enjoy our lawn even more. Great company to work with !! More to come in future. read more
