My yard was being taken over by creeping charlie - after the first application, it was back to grass - amazing!! I was initially concerned about chemicals, but Mark, the owner, made a plan to attack the weeds and keep things almost completely organic. Mark occasionally stops by to inspect spots where I've had questions. The office staff and service technicians are all very nice. They have a seamless operation - if I ask a tech a question, someone from the office follows up. Very easy to work with. read more

I have been a customer of Emerald Lawn Care since 2005. When I bought my home my yard was full of grubs and crabgrass. It was a mess! Mark and his team put a plan in place and handled all fertilization, aeration, weed control and got rid of the grubs too! Before I knew it my yard looked like dark green, plushy carpet. So happy! Not only do they know what they're doing, their customer service is top rate. They take care of their customers and are a pleasure to work with. I recommend them to everyone I know. Seriously. Everyone. : ) read more

Always very accommodating and show genuine concern for your property. Excellent people to do business with.

Great service all around! Tracey in the office is extremely helpful! We were looking to start up a new service, and were referred to them from our neighbors. Very nice to deal with, gets quote back to you quickly, and explains everything to you. I had looked at several other lawn services, and they are all franchises, and not great to deal with. Emerald is a local business and not a franchise. Highly recommend them!!! read more

My lawn has never looked better. I like using Emerald because they are knowledgeable and easy to work with. If the technician notices something out of scope, the customer is made aware so that there is an opportunity to rectify the problem. With Emerald, I receive quality service, I don't have to worry about a thing and I would definitely recommend Emerald. read more

I submit reviews on Yelp that are both positive and negative depending on the experience I have with the company. I just want to take a minute to say that Emerald Lawn Care's work on my lawn last season has given me the greenest lawn in the entire neighborhood already in spite of the slow start to spring. I can't say enough about the job they do and how awesome my lawn looks due to their lawn care process. read more

We moved into our new home last year which was newly sodded. However, after a blistering summer and cruel winter, our lawn suffered from harsh conditions. I honestly thought it was beyond repair but after reading some positive reviews here, I decided to call Emerald for a free consult. I'm so glad I did! After 5 months, our lawn is one of the best looking lawns, if not the best, in our neighborhood. Mark is great to work with and he's one of the best service people I've had the pleasure to work with. His expertise and comprehensive application program has given our lawn new life. I've used the bigger companies in the past but never felt I got my money's worth. If you want someone who really cares about lawns, call Mark. Like the other reviewer mentioned, Mark will be more than happy to offer up some helpful advice when asked. That was never the case with my previous lawn care provider. I'm definitely getting my money's worth and very satisfied. You won't be disappointed. read more

Mark and his gang of guys are so friendly and knowledgable. When they say they are going to do something, it gets done. My lawn looks great and you should of seen it before he worked on it. Completely 100% happy Chuck T read more

Emerald is the Best! I have been using them for fertilization, grub control, and aeration since i bought my house in Arlington Heights. Mark and his team are so easy to work with, so kind and helpful. They even let me know when they are coming so i can plan to keep mine and my neighbors dogs out of the way. I would recommend to anyone who cares about their lawn. read more

My lawn has never looked worse. I called about the abundance of weeds after several treatments and they came out and did another application. I then ended up with bare spots were everything was killed. Eric came out and looked and told me he would supply some grass seed. Two weeks later no seed so I email him. He replied he will deliver it tomorrow. Two weeks later no seed. I just canceled my service. read more

So happy I switched to Emerald Lawn Care 2 years ago! Lawn never looked better. Great service people, both in and out of the office. Local business...get a quote today!! You won't be sorry. read more

I didn't use their service, but called to get my lawn aerated. While they don't offer this as a standalone service, Mark was kind enough to refer me to a different service provider (a competitor, at that). Any business owner who puts his customers / prospects' needs ahead of his own profits deserves 5 stars. They seem to belong to the very small sliver of companies that aren't just talking the talk about customer service, but also walking the walk! If I ever need a more full service package, I will be sure to reach out to you. Thanks Mark! read more

Emerald isn't a franchise, and they don't use hardball or high pressure sales tactics to try to upsell you like most of the franchise businesses. We pick the services we need, nothing more and nothing less. They are always available to answer lawn care questions. Mark is very helpful and patient with my relative ignorance about the science - and it is a science - of lawn care. We almost thought about switching to Tru-Green when they gave us a very low priced quote but I'm so very glad we didn't, they started with the badgering phone calls and wouldn't stop every day for weeks. I can only imagine what to expect if we were actual Tru-Green customers. No such nonsense from Emerald. Our lawn has some issues that are tough to resolve due to soil and shade but I think we're getting the right custom treatment plan for our situation and they never push us to add more. read more

We've been using Emerald since 2014 and they have done a great job keeping the weeds away and the lawn looking good. Very professional and reliable company! read more

Very impressed with Mark and his staff. Unlike the big national chains Emerald has attention to detail, personalized recommendations and clear accountability should an issue arise (it wont). Our lawn is looking immensely better after just over a season. Mark and team know their stuff inside and out and have a genuine passion for their work. Very proud to support this business and appreciate their hard work. As a side note, the best landscaper in town (or the area for that matter) Rooney Landscape, thinks very highly of Emerald and recommended them. Beyond my amateur recommendation, the pros know these guys are the best. read more

Will never work with them again. There are many reasons including the services they performed and the way they treat their customers.

Very please with their services so far. They always call me a day before they come so it won't have any conflict with my weekly mowing. Tracy is very nice and helpful on the phone. Eric came and explained well to me what my lawn needs. A very educated lesson. The owner even came to check on our lawn after couple applications. Very impressed with their service. The price is reasonable too. Highly recommended. read more

After searched for a while to find the lawn service company for my rental house, Emerald lawn Care entered into my radar screen, I compared lots of details: service, price, available etc, I finally decided they are the winner of my extensive search, they have been in the close communication with me(primarily by email) since, and they send me the report and pic whenever they stop by which is a big plus to me. I got the pretty bad lawn and things start turn over after two applications, can not recommend more. read more

Wow. I am totally impressed. I got weed treatment done on my lawn at half the cost of what the big companies charge. Emerald is a fine example of how small local businesses can be far better than the big company franchises. They are a good company who are run by good people that are your neighbors. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Emerald provided the best service for me as potential client. As first time homeowners, my husband and I did not treat our lawn properly last summer, so it looked diseased and patchy before fall. I called Emerald this spring to see if they could come out to treat the lawn, but I had several concerns and questions for them. Mark, who is truly a lawn expert (and very nice person), came by and answered all of my questions. He gave me tips for how to treat the lawn ourselves and repair the damage we did last year, and he provided all of this advice free of charge! Mark also emailed me the list of tips we discussed and told me if I could not manage the lawn care myself or if the tips did not do the trick, to give him a call and they would come treat it professionally. He saved me a lot of $$, and my lawn has really bounced back based on his recommendations. If I ever do need more intensive service or decide it is too much maintenance to do myself, I will definitely call Emerald for the fantastic, personalized care. read more

Absolutely LOVE THIS company especially after finding out it is a small business!!!! After owning a landscape company for 30 years that did fert/herb as well, never thought I'd find one good enough after re-locating. This is our 3rd season with Emerald. A neighbor recently pulled up as I was doing yard work in front of my house and asked who did our lawn! They were not happy with their current applicator. Love the discount if paid in full for the year. Absolutely appreciate the informative tips and observations they leave regarding any other issues such as blade height we should use, etc. Gave some great advice when consulted them that Helped us get rid of those nasty "ditch Lillie's" in our back yard. Love the messages they leave regarding when they will be out and when they have to reschedule after inclement weather. Dave, Tracy and Mark are amazing! Gotta love our lawn and a company who helps us meet new neighbors because it looks so good! That's an extra bonus!!!!! read more

First off, let me say that this company is excellent. After utilizing some of the major lawn service companies (Scotts and TruGreen) I realized that I was paying a lot more for less attention to the lawn. When I first met Mark, he came by the house personally and did an evaluation of some concerns we had (weeds, dollar spots, bent grass). He did this all on his own time and didn't charge us a penny for advice on how to handle the issues. Needless to say, we went with Emerald and now our lawn now looks incredible. The best part about this company is that they are local and use much better products than the major chains. I sent my parents and some buddies his way and they are also happy that they switched. read more

First time I've ever used a weed and pest control company..they identified my problems, offered a sound course of treatment and have been all over it. Great group of guys..highly recommended! . read more

We moved into a home where the developer put in a new lawn so it was FILLED with various weeds when spring rolled around. After shopping around and reading reviews, we decided to go with Emerald Lawn Care to help us get our lawn in shape. We didn't expect to have good grass for awhile since it was in such bad shape. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw improvements so quickly and by summer time we were actually pretty proud of our lawn! If that weren't enough, we have been BLOWN AWAY by their amazing customer service. A sincere thank you to Tracey, Eric and everyone that has helped us at Emerald! read more

Emerald Lawn is the BEST ! My lawn looks fantastic. The customer service is second to none. I have recommended a few friends and they are just as happy as I am. Give them a try you will not regret it ! read more

I have been using this company and have found them to be honest and fair in their pricing. They use very safe and natural products that are safer around animals. So much better to deal with the owner and not a big corporate chain. read more

I am not one to write reviews, and while many who feel this way, they break that lack of writing, motivated by vengeance. Sometimes justified, sometimes not as some people are absolutely nuts and have ridiculous expectations. I am not a spiteful person and when that happens, I call the business and inform management of their blind spots. Anyways, every now and then I feel those who go above and beyond deserve recognition. Emerald is one of those rare businesses that deserves this. Mark is a punctual and passionate owner what he does. I always get immediate call backs or emails. I never feel rushed on the phone. Emerald does not pressure its clients into sales or BS rates/confusing plans with changing rates and introductory garbage. Straightforward and honest. Most of all, the results work. I am a DIYer, but when you do the math, you are going to spend about half on product, the other half is so economical thats its just worth your time to not have to deal with timing the weather around work and 'remembering'. They are a good family owned business. A relative of mine saw the Scotts technician walk around his neighbor's property and left an invoice that he treated the lawn, gone in 5 mins, although nothing was done. A patient of mine had security cameras that showed the driver of Scott's running over his mailbox. They denied everything, until he laughed and said, "I have it on video!".I acknowledge this is on the unlikely end/isolated incidents, but a big company like Scotts or TruGreen is too big to care about doing a good job and maintaining a 2 way relationship of loyalty. There is not quality control with the employees. Emerald is the opposite of that and has proven this to me and the friends and family I have referred to. Enjoy your effortless and beautiful lawn. read more
