Good good and nice people! Nothing too fancy. Try the breakfast shepherds pie! Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable but not cheap

I first heard of Country Girl after watching Chronicle approx. 2 year ago. The whole experience was awesome! We ordered drinks immediately after taking our seats at the counter. I had a pepsi and I had to order a vanilla milk shake to go! My wife had water and coffee. We wanted to get our order in because we felt like the staff was nice enough to let us in that we didn't want to stall them from getting out at closing. My wife had grilled cheese with tomato soup. I had a burger with fries. My wife was thrilled with the soup. She said it was the best tomato soup she has had in a long time! My fries were excellent. home made and tasty! You can see in the pictures that the diner is set up with booths and a counter top. I am told that they are busy year round. I can see why because the food and service is fabulous. The staff was so nice and welcoming! Price: fair Parking: plenty of parking in the lot Vibe: great music...welcoming Would I come back again? Yes, I would love to visit in the summer on a beautiful warm day! 5-stars!

Is it weird to form such a strong bond with a sandwich?! The bun was toasted just right, perfect ratio of meat, cheese, veg.... Shoelace fries on the side... sigh.... We will most certainly be back. Please tell the cheesesteak I'll be thinking of her.

Absolutely mind blown…read more I have made numerous ski trips this way and always seen this place tucked away in the corner of my eye when approaching the intersection. No cell service so couldn't look up anything prior to entering. Lovely little diner, please remember to shut the door as you enter as it doesn't close. I made my way to the counter and started really looking at everything around the place. Personally could have kept all the political stuff out but I was here for food. Liked all the books off the side as well as the dinosaur toys. The message that is placed in front of you tell a good story, and they're not wrong one bit. Enjoy the company around you. I was blown away with the size of the blueberry pancake, and I was warned. Never have I taken a pancake to go because I didn't finish it. I had some corn beef hash too so that filled me up a bit, but this thing is massive! Definitely could've taken it down in my college days. I will have to come back to try and defeat it again. Anyways, I did enjoy my corn beef hash too, very potato driven. All and all, happy I finally popped in. Don't know when the next time I'll be back, but it is now on my radar of places to stop when ready for pancakes!

Came here after reading the positive reviews from others listed on Yelp. Tried my hardest to like…read morethis place but it just wasn't for me. The diner is very small inside and decorated with political extremism. I thought the set up was funny, unique, and provided great conversation topics. However, the food is what made me dislike the diner. First off, the waitress dipped her hand in the coffee and didn't replace it with a new one. Was given attitude after asking for a new coffee. Then after that, the coffee ended up being the worst tasting diner coffee I've ever had (it was $6 as well!!!). I ordered the world domination breakfast and was disappointed. The only good part of the experience were the pancakes, which were very delicious. Didn't finish the other food outside of the pancakes. Was very surprised after reading the reviews.

There are not a lot of options in this area so we headed for Sumner House. I wouldn't choose to go…read morehere again if I could find some other option. The positives: the portions were huge, wait staff was friendly. Apart from it having pretty bright lighting and being a little noisy... the interior is fairly charming being that it's a great old house and you can still see elements of its former life. The less positive-- I didn't care for the food, nor did my co-diners. The meatloaf was pretty dry. The burger looked like it was just a 'bubba burger' or some other mediocre frozen variety. The chicken parm was a huge piece of chicken but the sauce had an odd taste-- almost like it had a bit too much red wine in it or it wasn't cooked down enough-- so it was sort of sour? The soup was ok. It was extra cheesy. We would have traded in some of the cheese for some more broccoli. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.

Our server was…read morewonderful and I wish I could remember her name, but I was part of a party of 10 and I had very little contact with her. But the service was wonderful. The food.........not so much. I started with a salad and while it was Fresh, it was very small. Hardly worth the effort. I ordered a stuffed haddock as my entree and it was delicious. Stuffed with crab and shrimp and really very well made. But the complete lack of attention to the side dishes and vegetables really ruined the experience for me. My baked potato must have been a day old and barely reheated. The butter wouldn't even melt on it. Others at the table said the same thing. And they served Brussels sprouts. I like my vegetables pretty crunchy. I don't overcook by any means. But these were served almost raw. I believe they were blanched but not cooked. And again, it was not just me. One lady in our party collected the leftover sprouts and said that she was taking them home to cook them. The menu had burgers and sandwiches on it. Maybe I would stick to that next time. So the meal was not terrible but it was not memorable either.
