Very good! Happy accident pit stop when heading back to NYC from our Anniversary celebration weekend. Everything was delicious and our server Amelia T. was extremely polite, attentive and friendly. Only thing that was a little off - the women that sat us down wasn't as friendly or attentive. As everyone walked out of the establishment they received a Happy Holidays but when we left she didn't give us the same warm greeting. Which I had already told my Hubby we wouldn't get. She made it a little obvious our skin color didn't match hers.

Such a nice brunch spot and the food is delicious! I kindly recommend calling to see if you can make a reservation for a table by the window. You'll be able to get a nice view of the river. It was so peaceful. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. They had so many options to choose from and the menu was easy to read. I highly suggest checking this place out if your in the area. You won't regret it.

We happened to stop at this diner enroute east. So glad we did! Very bright cheery homey place! Great view of the little brook or river that flows through town. Had breakfast and it was excellent! The sweet potato hash was new to me and it was yummy! Service was also very good! Highly recommend!

Attentive wait staff, real corned beef and numerous breakfast offerings. The only downside is minimal parking.

If you know me at all, and have read my reviews, you know my comfort food is a good burger and fries. I had forgotten how good Black Rock's burgers are! Perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. The fries were plentiful and delicious, and their bottled root beer was also quite good. Our server, Sue, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I am happy to have rediscovered Black Rock and first will be my "go to" restaurant whenever I am in the area.

My wife and i went for our 20th anniversary and i ordered Prime rib and lobster. The prime rib was so chewy I couldnt eat it. The lobster was way over cooked and was a leather texture. My wife ordered salmon and it was basically raw. Her baked potato was room temperature. Our anniversary was ruined. We decided to try again a few months later. I got a steak with the rock. It was cool to the touch. I literally put my hand on it. My wife had seafood alfredo and it was ok but kind of greasy she said. When i asked about the rock being cold, waitress was upset and said she'd handle it. After waiting close to 15 minutes i called another waitress and got a to go box. Havent been back since.

The positives: the portions were huge, wait staff was friendly. Apart from it having pretty bright lighting and being a little noisy... the interior is fairly charming being that it's a great old house and you can still see elements of its former life. The less positive-- I didn't care for the food, nor did my co-diners. The meatloaf was pretty dry. The burger looked like it was just a 'bubba burger' or some other mediocre frozen variety. The chicken parm was a huge piece of chicken but the sauce had an odd taste-- almost like it had a bit too much red wine in it or it wasn't cooked down enough-- so it was sort of sour? The soup was ok. It was extra cheesy. We would have traded in some of the cheese for some more broccoli. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.

The food.........not so much. I started with a salad and while it was Fresh, it was very small. Hardly worth the effort. I ordered a stuffed haddock as my entree and it was delicious. Stuffed with crab and shrimp and really very well made. But the complete lack of attention to the side dishes and vegetables really ruined the experience for me. My baked potato must have been a day old and barely reheated. The butter wouldn't even melt on it. Others at the table said the same thing. And they served Brussels sprouts. I like my vegetables pretty crunchy. I don't overcook by any means. But these were served almost raw. I believe they were blanched but not cooked. And again, it was not just me. One lady in our party collected the leftover sprouts and said that she was taking them home to cook them. The menu had burgers and sandwiches on it. Maybe I would stick to that next time. So the meal was not terrible but it was not memorable either.

This cozy sandwich shop serves up a variety of made to order breakfast sandwiches/burritos and lunch sandwiches, cold drinks in the cooler and root veggie crisps. The bagels, muffins, breads and wraps used here are homemade as are the sauces too. When possible, the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. The prices here are fair. There are a few tables inside the shop and a few tables outside on the wooden patio. I ordered the Hot Reel Deal Beef ($12 plus tax/$13.08) which was made to order in the open kitchen behind the counter. The sandwich I ordered was very good, which had thin sliced grilled roast beef, caramelized onions, melted cheddar, bacon, and spiced mustard on soft homemade focaccia bread, a really nice touch to make a great tasting sandwich.

Well it sounded good but when we got it it was cold, the meat was hardly there, and it was shredded meat like scraps. It was disgusting and the focaccia bread which is homemade was OK but it fell apart. I have proceeded to message them on Facebook to let them know how I felt about our experience and they read it and never responded. It's a good thing they're selling because they need to put somebody in there who really cares about the product they put out
