I decided to take it elsewhere and went to pick it up. While he had it, he damaged it even further. Instead of just the movement and crystal, now the minute hand was bent and the face was scratched and had some green and gold stuff smeared on it (looked like paint???). It was an inexpensive watch, but it had sentimental value to me because it was given to me when I was a child by my mother. She has since passed away. Now it is so damaged that no one will repair it. A wonderful memento from my late mother is gone forever. I wish I had never taken it to Texley's.

However, when we returned, an older lady assisted us and was quite rude. A few days later, we realized the repairs we had paid over $800 for hadn't been done. When my wife brought the ring back, the older lady accused her of lying and bringing in a different ring. After a very unpleasant interaction, she finally agreed to repair the ring. However, when we picked it up, the main diamond's prong was still loose. Frustrated, we drove downtown to Willamette Artisans Jewelry, where we received excellent service and they did a great job. Clocksmith Cyrus responded that since it was for a museum he would fix it if we would pay the postage and insurance both ways. We packed up the movement and sent it off. The repair required a complete rebuild of the movement. Clocksmith Cyrus completed the repair quickly and professionally. He sent videos of each phase of the repair and was extremely helpful in getting the movement installed and the calibration once installed. I also found that several clocks that were cleaned and oiled, were not actually cleaned, and some parts that should not be oiled, indeed were oiled. Maybe this was the cause of a problem that needed repairs. While appearing to be qualified, it appears that honesty and integrity are questionable. I cannot recommend the Clockmakers Gallery in Eugene, Oregon.
