I was very disappointed with the quality of service and meal presentation when my wife and I had dinner at this location last night (5/2/2025). When I made the reservation, I noted in the comments that this was our wedding anniversary but nothing was said or commented. We had dinner here last year the our server made it very special. We had the ask for the bread, which normally comes out when the server brings us water or our drink order. We were not asked if we wanted any appetizers, a refresh on our drinks or if we wanted desert. We had to ask for coffee after we were done eating and it tasted like it had been sitting on the warmer since the day before plus we had to ask for spoons to stir our coffee. When our server brought our coffee, there was no effort made to clear our dinner plates, they were still on our table when we got up to leave. As for meal presentation, my wife ordered a filet and a salad but there was no effort to make it look like the caliber of restaurant that Springfield has been noted for. It was just a chunk of beef on a large dinner plate, no garnish or anything to enhance the appeal. We have been a long time loyal customer ever since your location opened and unfortunately, we will not be back. read more

Went here for my birthday dinner and had a very good experience. The fire blue sauce on my filet was amazing and i woke up the next morning wanting more of that. If the fire blue stuff on the menu turns you off, don't let it. It tasted so incredibly good. The filet was very good as well. The soup options i didn't love, they ran out of clam chowder already, so i went with the spicy turtle soup. The spice and the turtle was good but there was a little too many beans in it for me. I would've liked to try the clam chowder. The baked potato was good as well and comes with butter and sour cream. My main dish was amazing and my sides were decent 4.5/5 read more

This is the perfect date night spot. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate Father's Day and we loved everything we had. It was happy hour when we went and I had a $4 glass of wine, which was very good. The fried zucchini is excellent, my boyfriend loved his Caesar salad and my French onion-style soup was great. Even the complimentary bread was excellent! My boyfriend's top sirloin was amazing-- I had a bite and it was some of the best steak I've had in a long time. First of all, shout out to our server, Teresa. I really hope her manager sees this. She went way above the call of duty! We had reservations as a party of six for my grandmother's 91st birthday. That being said, my grandmother is not easy to please. She had a comment on everything. She said the prices were too high. She didn't like the ambience and said it was too dark in there. She even went as far as getting out the flashlight on her phone to read the menu. Lol. She told Teresa about these grievances over and over again. Each time to raise a merely smiled and apologized and even offered to hold the flashlight for her while she read the menu. She was so sweet with my grandmother even as we were all losing our patience with her. As for the restaurant itself, I definitely give it five stars! They truly have something to offer for everyone. While most of the restaurant is more of a fine dining experience, they also have a small bar with booths for casual dining as well as a small banquet room. The menu is very diverse. They offer everything from lobster ravioli to cheeseburgers. I have a very restricted diet and ordered the cheeseburger. I didn't expect much as I thought this was probably not the most requested item on their menu. However, I was delighted! I ordered my burger medium well done and the burger had a nice char on it and tasted like it was fresh off the grill and was still juicy. My family members ordered some of the fancier dishes and were quite pleased. The portions are large and worth every penny! I was guest at a reserved table for 4 for birthday dinner. Table was crowded although booths where 2 were seated had much more table space. Cocktails were ordered and bread was asked for and as second round of cocktails were served, a second request was made for bread and it was then delivered. I and another ordered the seafood platter consisting of cod and shrimp scampi with roasted carrots. The scampi consisted of 5 not very large shrimp that were obviously frozen rather than fresh in a tasty sauce along with baked cod which was rather generic. The portion was unbelievably small and the plated presentation drab except a spackle of greens to liven the plate. Note that each diner had to ask for water and glasses were not refilled. Didn't seem like great service and I do not like to be called Honey as were all at the table. Never dined for birthday dinner when establishment did not even offer a Birthday cookie in addition to have a great birthday. And server broom sweeping the floor near by prior to closing while diners were eating was huge no-no. Would I choose Springfield in the future? No, I will not. read more

First time visiting, had a dinner group of seven guys and Springfield Grille graciously accommodated us. Beautiful inside and out, with great whiskey selection at the bar. Service was spot on, we didn't want for anything nor did we get constant interruptions by our server. Food was spectacular, all of our steaks were cooked to perfection. What happened?? This used to be a great place for special food, but not anymore. They removed from the menu the sweet potatoes and cinnamon butter, which was a favorite for us. Also, they used to serve rolls and muffins before the dinner but now it is just bread and butter. And the butter is in cardboard container. Wouldn't it be easier to serve it in a washable container. I ordered scallops but 5 minutes later the waiter returned and said they were out of them. It was only 3:30 pm on a Sunday. How do you run out of a dinner entree that early. I had the crab cakes which were very good , my wife had the 8oz sirloin also was good. She had coffee and cheese cake. Both were less than enjoyable. The coffee was either too old or too strong and the cheese cake had a bland taste. The server was good . The atmosphere was the same but the quality and the menu is lacking. So sad to see. This was our third time going and definitely the last. I will first start off to let you know that our server was amazing, so she has nothing to do with this review, 5 STARS FOR HER:) We ordered filet mignon, mine medium and my husband ordered medium well with onions. When they came we had to swap because his was medium and mine medium well, no big deal. However the filet's were VERY chewy. We go out to eat a lot, and filet mignon is our go to, so we are very familiar with a good filet. I did not finish mine, my husband did because he tolerates tuff/chewy meat better than I. I told our server, just wanting to let her know. She empathized and said she just wanted to let her manager know, that they need to know this info that it is very helpful. The manager came over so we showed her the filets that we had to swap and told her that was fine. I informed her that the meat was very chewy and told her that we eat many filets so I just wanted her to know. She than picked up my knife and fork and began slicing my uneaten filet, (cutting the opposite way you slice, with the grain, not against the grain), and said, "that sliced very easy"!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY, picking up my utensils and than saying that. She asked if I wanted another steak, I declined and reiterated that I just wanted her to know. She did deduct my filet from our bill, which that is not why I was telling her of my dismay, however now I am glad she did. As we left she was standing near the from door with 2 other employees, and normally everywhere we patronize, we always here, "have a nice evening", but none of the 3 said anything. I never write reviews but that manager handled this situation DISGRACEFUL and needs to know that all customers who make a complaint are not doing it for a free meal. This was my first experience as I recently moved to Wexford. Upon entering I was "greeted" by Cody who seemed extremely annoyed that we showed up an hour early before our reservation. We thought we would go to the bar to have a drink first. My friend Linda checked us in as the reservation was under her name. She asked Cody if we could go to the bar and he said in a very aggressive tone Yes! I was already annoyed with his attitude but I said nothing to anyone in my party. We ended up finding a table in the bar area in which we sat down and a very nice waitress came over and wiped the table down. My friend Linda told the waitress we had a reservation at 7:30 and asked if we should take her name off of the list since we got a table at the bar. The kind waitress said she would go over to the host table and notify them. Lucky us Cody came back over to tell us we need to move because there were people in front of us. Okay fine no problem! we then got a seat at the bar and my party ordered drinks. As soon as we ordered drinks, I kid you not a table was ready for us. We closed out our bar tab and we were escorted to our table. My friend Jeff then got up to ask Cody if we could get a booth. The table we were at was incredibly crowded around us and we were basically hitting our chairs with our neighbors. I am also pregnant so I need a lil bit more space. Cody told Jeff he could not seat us in the three booths that were available at the time because we didn't have a reservation?! Now, I am confused!!! We did have a reservation for 7:30! Also, I never knew you could reserve a booth at this restaurant?! You certainly could not on the website. So four cramped people sat at this table (one being pregnant) while I watched two people being sat in the very larger booths. Can someone make this make sense to me?! Cody was beyond condescending during our entire experience there. We had another run in with him while my friend ordered the filet mignon and received a sirloin. Cody came over to tell us it indeed was a filet but I have pictures of the filet that Linda ordered and the "filet" Jeff ordered and they are two different pieces of meat. I asked our waitress if Cody was a manager and she said yes. I was honestly shocked. He was rude and seemed like he did not want to be there. I am not even sure if condescending is the best term to use in how he treated our party. You might want to teach him how to treat customers. It's not exactly a one-off single owner place and its far from a casual dining chain which is a good thing since the quality of ambiance, service, and food is well preserved and top notch. This humble review is solely for the Springfield Grill Mars location. Walking in the ambiance is warm and inviting with an upscale Hunting Lodge vibe. There's a cool bar area with some booths and stools to left and main dining to the right. You can almost see Hemingway knocking back a whiskey on bar stool number seven. From the time you walk in to the time you end your experience the service is fantastic with an engaging wait staff who are very familiar with the menu and pay special attention to any specific needs or questions that you might have. This includes everything from recommending items if your indecisive to any dietary issues you might have and how they may be able to accommodate with a particular menu item. The food itself is memorable in a good way, we have been here several times for lunch, dinner, and afternoon libations sampling their specials and main menu items. The only criticism I have would be the corned beef on the Ruben, it was a little tough but keep in mind I'm a Ruben snob. Surprise offerings for a place like this were the Thai Calamari and Ahi Tuna appetizers that were very good. I've had one of the best Ribeyes in the area here second only to my own and we've worked our way through some lamb, catch of the day, and pasta dishes which were all spot on and full of flavor. Deserts are your standard fair with no real standouts but the few we've tried are on the upside of good. Drinks have yet too disappoint and they aren't shy in their pours. There are also daily specials for happy hour and dinner plates so be sure to ask.. One item of special note is you've gotta kiss the Elk... it's a thing there, just make sure you're not troublesome to other diners. The Springfield Grille is the most formal of the Springfield restaurant group. This group includes restaurants I have previously visited including the Iron Bridge Inn, Rachel's Roadhouse, and the Log Cabin inn. Dress is casual. The main dining room is has tablecloths and cloth napkins. The bar in the next room has not only a full service bar but the traditional wooden booths I have seen in the other restaurants. In another room they have private dining or it can be set up for a group event. My husband and I stopped here for lunch and we received courteous and friendly service from our waiter. He took the time to review the daily specials and go over the regular menu. I asked about the "Turtle soup" that is associated with this restaurant. It is a highly seasoned vegetable soup with pieces of "turtle" meat cut into it. I was told the meat tastes like chicken. He also told us portion sizes were generous no matter what we order. We had heard about how good the crabcake sandwiches were so we decided to go for them. Sandwiches are normally served with French Fries or coleslaw but I asked if a sweet potato could be subbed for my side. I was glad to know it was. While we were waiting for our food I took a moment to examine the beautiful decor of this place. In addition to the deer heads on the wall there was lovely artwork and sculpture. Free WiFi is available as well. Before we got our sandwiches the waiter brought out bread and muffins which he explained were made in house. We each had one and they were fresh and soft. We then got our meals and believe me I really enjoyed my crab-cake! I loved the sweet potato as well. The skin was a little burnt but still had no problem eating it. My husband also enjoyed his sandwich and told me that the coleslaw was amazing! We were fairly stuffed when our waiter brought out the dessert tray to choose from. Desserts here average about $6.00. We each decided to try one. I had the Kentucky Derby pie which was made out of chocolate chip cookies in a flaky pie crust. My husband had the peanut butter pie. We both really enjoyed them. Since this place is considered more upscale expect to pay more for a meal here. However, if you stick with a sandwich or salad or one of their daily specials with a side the cost is on par with it's sister restaurants. This restaurant is a "hidden gem" and makes a great place when celebrating a special occasion or if you don't want to travel farther than Mars, PA where it is located.
