Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

Each tree had an entire wrapping of the lights on their trunks. And the larger trees had some branches that were lit up also. I am sure the persons who arranged the lights for the park was very careful to know and pick which trees could support how much extra weight. It was so beautiful. Now every year that I am able, I will go back to see the Holiday Display at Vetruvian Park. Last year I was in hospital from mid-December until February 13. I felt like I had let down a good friend when I couldn't make my annual voyage. I don't know how many more years I have been given, but to celebrate the birthday of Christ I will be there among the Angel Lights! Go see them! It's a wonderful experience for all!

The playground looks like a castle, which is pretty cool. As good as it is, there was one thing I wasn't aware of. It's next to a school and the school uses the playground at recess. So our first 20-30 minutes there we had it to ourselves (almost), but then wave after wave of kids came over from the school. It wasn't a problem, but our 3 year old isn't used to playing and sharing with 4th and 5th graders. Oh well, it was fine. Still a good playground, would recommend.

It's close to where I live, and I love having such a beautifully maintained green space nearby. There's lots of open lawn that would be perfect for a picnic or just soaking up some sunshine. It's dog-friendly (major points for that!), and I've consistently seen pet parents doing a great job cleaning up after their pups. Personally, I prefer this kind of open space over a traditional dog park--as long as your pup has excellent recall and listens well. Just a heads-up: Turtle Creek Blvd runs alongside the park and it's a busy street, so keep that in mind. One of my favorite things about this park is how it feels like a little escape from the hustle of the city. Maybe I've been lucky, but's it's never gotten overly busy during my visits. Whether you're walking your dog, taking a quiet stroll, or reading under a tree, it's just a nice vibe. Pro Tip: There is some street parking available, but only on certain sides depending on signage--so double-check before leaving your car.
