Did we come during the DRY SEASON?! I wanted to see the water flowing under the bridges but there was nothing - the trail was short. My elderly mother love that there were plenty of sturdy benches throughout the trail, trash bins, and free parking. At the end of the day - I appreciated this little trail but I wouldn't do it every visit.

Small parking lot brings you to the entrance of this quaint small park with rocky, dirt trails. Like others, wish this park was bigger. Nevertheless, it is a nice outdoor area to walk around and enjoy the outdoors and nature

Totally underrated Dallas area park. Very serene and feels like the unspoiled TX countryside. If I had to compare, it's like a tiny manicured version of Cedar Hill State Park.

Very short hike probably less than 0.5 mile of rock covered trail. Not a bad hike, and it was well preserved. Nice lunch break get away from sitting under florescent lights. Only about 9 parking spaces available though. There are signs that help you identify different animals and plants around. They even have an area near the trail head where you can try to find fossils and crystals which the kids enjoyed (on the elevated land toward the right of the parking lot). There is also a sign to help identify which crystals you might have found ( and help you realize the rock you found was really just a rock and not a special crystal LOL). There's some trash scattered around, but it's not too bad. Overall it's a cute serene area, but I wish the trail was longer.

This is such a nice little hike. Very open with lots of scenery. There's benches and bridges throughout the hike so you can stop to rest/look around. The water is pretty cool too. Would definitely come back to this area.

Nice hike. About 1 mile around the paved path. Well marked with some off shoots. Sorry to see all the trash around. Well marked for interesting things. They did a good job. I would come back. This would also be good for someone disabled as the elevation changes are slight and the path is hard pack or concrete.

Very nice spot to walk and get away and feel safe...I shouldn't have watched the Revenant the Day before I was on edge the entire time but I'm sure there weren't any Grizzlies waiting in the brush...lol...every couple I saw was on there phones...what's the point of going if you're going to be on the phone the entire time..I had my phone out to take a few pics not texting and having a conversation but I digress...it's a lovely spot to visit and get a little exercise in!!

Crystal Canyon gets its name from all the crystals (gypsum) to be found in the vicinity, particularly the creek.

You can dock a boat or take your kayaks or pattle boats out, we saw some people do that. And there's great amount of shade. There is also plenty of birds around, which sound beautiful, however just beware, we did get popped on.

There's a small park, picnic tables, lots of shade, ducks roaming and you can go fishing or canoeing in the Lake. The crowd is filled with a mixture of everything. Families grilling, dogs all around, teens hanging, families playing volleyball, people witnessing. Lots of fishing going on. Summer time was definitely alive. The crowd stays all the way til dusk too. Also, they have really nice restrooms! It's a big brick building that has the Men's and Women's Restrooms beside each other. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. If your looking for a place for a family outing, I would suggest coming here. It's fun and safe!

It's easy to get to with just enough parking spaces. There's lots of large trees that produce a great amount of shade. Basketball Courts are very popular. An exciting game was going on. Tennis Courts and Soft ball fields are available too. The Playground is such an exciting place! It has unique modern equipment. An upgrade since the 80's. There's one piece of playground equipment that resembles a sandbox but, it spins! There another piece that looks like an inflatable chair, spaced out from each other, like a See Saw.
