We just had the pleasure of attending a baby shower at the new Richard Simpson Center that's replaced the tiny one-room building on the shore of Lake Arlington.
The party was held on the side facing the lake, with a room to comfortably fit about 75 people with the tables and chairs for those guests. The room opens up to an elevated, covered patio that could hold about 50 more people. The center is well-lit, air-conditioned, overseen by park employees, and most importantly, has clean restrooms!
The shower hostess, luckily, had enough forethought to rent out a bounce house to alleviate the number of restless kiddos inside. They set it up in a patch of grass that seemed like it was made specifically to hold a bounce house. Beyond that is a covered pavilion before reaching the boat ramps.
