Love Spring Mill as our go-to special Occasion or fall in on an off weeknight place. Always spectacular French with some Asian fusion dishes to try. Always very special service and ambiance. Hosted memorable events here including my wedding for 75 people! The owner and floral designer/server made everything spectacular. BYO-no corkage fee-can't beat it! read more

I recently had brunch here, and I had the most wonderful time! The staff was awesome. We were a large group, and they accommodated us beautifully. Lisa even took the time to do a little photo shoot! The food is fabulous, and the restaurant is so, so cute! I'll definitely be going back! read more

Did you know that they cancel your open table reservation so you don't leave a bad review?

So glad to be able to dine outdoors and feel safe with all of their CoVid precautions. Wonderful food and a little taste of France that is so appreciated right now. read more

Just hosted my daughter's Bridal Shower at the Spring Mill Cafe on Saturday (April 2019). It exceeded our expectations. The small farm house was charming, the food outstanding, the staff wonderfully attentive and friendly and the shower 2-layer cake was to die for! We had a small group of 17 and were cozy in this lovely rustic location. I would highly recommend this space for a gathering or the restaurant for a terrific dining experience! ......Joyce B read more

My wedding was perfect thanks to Ezra and the staff at the Spring Mill Cafe. After beginning to plan a large elaborate wedding we quickly realized this was not what we wanted for our big day. We went to dinner at the Spring Mill Cafe one evening when trying to decide what to do for our wedding, and instantly fell in love. We planned a small reception for 25 in a few months and couldn't have been happier. Not only was Ezra and the staff extremely accommodating, they helped make our planning easy and stress free. My husband and I knew that we did not want "typical" wedding food and food was one of our top priorities when planning. Spring Mill Cafe met and then blew away our expectations. The appetizers were mouth watering, the entrees were 5 star and the cake was beyond amazing. Nathan was our event manager for the entire evening and made sure that we wanted for nothing. He was exceptional. We truly could not have been happier and we recommend Spring Mill Cafe for your next event big or small! read more

Went here for dinner. It's BYOB, quiet, a nice location to sit and have a conversation. Service was friendly and courteous and the Salmon was delicious. Would definitely go back. read more

The positive reviews are mind boggling. People, this place is an utter embarrassment to French cuisine. Had the $45 prix fix for Mother's Day. Three shrimp, all different sizes, and it came with carrot purée, which I'm 99% sure was Gerber baby food. The entree was three scallops, all totally different sizes again, and were cooked with salt, pepper and some kind of steak seasoning. Dessert was a "cheese plate", which was a small chunk of Gouda and a piece of the worst Brie I've ever had. Your food was below average at best, and you're embarrassing yourselves by trying to pass your food off as French. Go eat at Bibou, then get back to the drawing board. We obviously won't be back. read more

Spring Mill Café is a Hidden Gem I almost hate to write a review because I would prefer that this place remain a hidden gem! I had worked/lived in the area for 10+ years before finally deciding to try out Spring Mill Café and immediately kicked myself for waiting so long. The café is BYOB & does not charge a corking fee :) It's a nice relaxing atmosphere and I never feel rushed. The menu has a nice variety and my personal fav is the scallops. I am not a dessert person but usually make an excepting for the chocolate mousse. Delicious! One of the dishes I like to try out at different French restaurants for comparison is Trout Almondine ... I ordered this at a well known French restaurant in Rittenhouse sq and also tried it at Spring Mill and I have to say Spring Mill won hands down If you are like me and have been a little hesitant to check this place out - try going on Tue, Wed, or Thu - they offer a plate de jour that's a great deal - it comes with salad, coffee/tea and a dessert for $25. read more

My Boyfriend and I came here last night for our anniversary and it was perfect! The restaurant was adorable and charming. We started out with the escargot, which neither of us had before. We were nervous about trying it but I'm glad we did. It was very garlicy and yummy. The appetizer was really only meant for one person, but that's okay because then we had plenty of room for the entree and dessert. For the entree I had the filet mignon (without the foie gras), and it was soo tender. It melted in my mouth. I loved it. My boyfriend had the Rabbit, which he liked, but he didn't finish all the pasta that accompanied because he was full. For dessert we had the mouse which was also very yummy. I definitely recommend for a romantic night! read more

Went there yesterday for valentine's day with my wife and my 10 month baby. The service was good. We had a table very soon as well as a high chair. But the valentine's menu was just doesn't worth $99/person. First course was a palm soup with beers and truffle garnish. We liked it since it is not too strong or creamy. Second courses were Oyster and seared duck breast salad. Oyster was fresh as I can tell but the sauce came with it was just okay. I have to complaint about the seared duck breast, there was still too much fat with the skin which made the taste so bad. My wife couldn't finish it. The main courses were okay though. We ordered Filet Mignon and salmon filet. The filet mignon can be better if the the sauce was not that blank. Fourth course was cheese tasting. We were not fans of cheese so I don't want to leave our comments about it here. The deserts were good. The reason why I leave three stars here is that we were not amazed by the food yesterday. And actually there are better options with price $99/person around the city. But I have to say the review here is just solely based on the valentine's menu. Not regular menu. Hope the regular dinner dishes are better. read more

We had my son's rehearsal dinner here and it couldn't have been better. Ezra was wonderful to work with, helping us plan the perfect menu and guiding us towards the right choices. The entire evening was executed beautifully--the staff was incredibly attentive and efficient, the atmosphere charming and cozy, and the food was out of this world. I would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more

This restaurant is the whole package. Service is gracious and welcoming. The French cuisine uses fresh ingredients and isn't offered if they can't. Portions are generous but not overwhelming. It's a byob, and the servers make sure they serve you-you never have to pour unless you want to do so. Desserts are delicious....it was wonderful! read more

I was amazed to see that there were no reviews for this authentic, atmospheric restaurant. I think it's been there since 1979 which is a testament to the quality of the food. It is pricey but well worth it. Feels like you've been transported to a cafe in Provence. A bountiful, summery garden by the terrase is the perfect setting for a summer lunch or supper. Inside, the decor is charming and French country style. The menu is short but everything on it is delicious. I've had trout almandine, a wonderful Morroccan dish with chicken in pastry, amazing mussels, and a light, feathery angel food cake with Creme Anglaise and lemon curd that was unforgettable. It's a byob with panache. read more

Had Sunday burger 2 for $20 to go specials. Very efficient "curb side" delivery. Had a beef burger and a crabcake burger -- both delicious. The crabcake was large and mostly crab. Can't go wrong for the quality at that price. read more

This is the only reason my husband and I leave Philadelphia to dine. The french cuisine is delicious. We always start with the Country Pate and its out of this world. We fight over the last bite. We mix it up with the entrees, Tagine, Flank Steak and Scallops come to mind all exceptional. The menu changes so we have many yummy choices. Make sure to leave room for dessert because the Daffodil Cake is simply divine. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Oh and I cant wait for Spring so we can set outside on the deck and take in the lovely flower gardens. read more

I want to come back soon and give them a better review. I do, I swear. This was my first time at the Spring Mill, and considering I've been living in West Conshy for three years, about damn time. I've heard so many awesome things so I was really, really excited for my dinner tonight. I ordered the La Bouillabaisse de Marseille and was really looking forward to it. I felt the monkfish was overcooked, but it was still good so I didn't care. My main problem was the fact that the mussels tasted like poop. I was so hungry that I ate them anyway, but still. Ick. I love me some mussels, but not sea poop. And now that I'm home and looking over their menu... where the hell were the scallops?!? Damn it to hell! I spent $31 to eat poop and no scallops. but the saffron tomato broth was great for dipping the rolls, so now I just have to make bouillabaisse myself! My aunt had the game hen, and while I didn't try that, I did eat the harissa off her plate it was quite good. But the chocolate mousse... you got me there, Spring Mill! Awesome. My aunt had the creme caramel and I could have eaten all that myself as well. The place itself is really cute. I wish I lived there. read more

Service was great. The food was outstanding. Smoked trout with French pork belly pancetta. Escargot with leeks. A definite gem and deserves a return visit. read more

Not a good experience by far. A group of friends and I planned a small baby shower get together for our friend expecting. We had a few different young girls come over and fill waters which was nice, but then after our orders were taken we barely had service, let alone good service. Early on we ordered two carafes of orange juice. A carafe is typically a tall pitcher type item, not a teeny tiny milk creamer holder pretty much. And for $12 a piece!! We were stunned when the check came. Talk about a rip off. So $24 for orange juice, unheard of. We sat and waited over 30+ minutes just for someone's attention to remove our dirty plates. I've never had to flag someone down to nicely ask to clear plates. Thought that was just something automatically done, but ok. We brought a cake to celebrate also and I was told with my friend when we arrived that there's a cake cutting fee of $4 per person. Since I Called during the week to confirm I could bring a cake, I assume this type of fee would've been explained over the phone. Nope! So once I found out I was surprised but we said that's fine, not a problem. They took the cake to their counter and it sat there while we ate, totally fine. But_ after our meals and we just sat- they brought the check over ( where we discovered the OJ cost) and no cake fee was listed. I thought maybe that was because they felt bad for being unorganized and sloppy and not clearing the plates like most normal restaurants do.... our friends mother went and requested small plates and forks/ a knife. The young girl said okay be right over. Within seconds ( wish it were that quick to refill waters and clear dirty dishes earlier on) a woman - perhaps manager, with dark curly hair and glasses comes over quick " I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.... but there's a fee to cut the cake". WHAT?! Service was awful, you never even brought out the cake and we already received the check! Who in the world is this sloppy to then try and give us a second check for cake cutting? Ridiculous and unprofessional. She was then explaining "well you didn't say you wanted the cake." Hmmm. Now I'm no rocket scientist but, why on earth would we spend $ on a cake and bring it in ? Just to let it sit there and take up space?? Maybe if staff communicated they would know we already agreed to the cake cut fee and wanted it for dessert to celebrate our friends baby!! The icing on the cake ( no pun intended) is that after my friend said nope, don't want it, we will just take the cake to go--- the curly haired woman with glasses literally just says "okay" and walks away. Honestly, I was so taken back. Not even an apology for their screw up! Never Ever ever will any of us return. It's a shame because the decor and location was really lovely. We also asked for coffee twice before that was brought out. When my friends mom ran back in to get the baby shower balloons- the girls cleaning the table were openly complaining about how sloppy are table decor was to clean up. Considering it's paper table "cloths"- I assume they could've just folded it up and stuck it straight in a trash bin, but hey what do I know?.... Food review- salmon Benedict was overly salty and just subpar. read more

This was our first time here. Great food and service! The atmosphere was also really nice and comfortable. For our entrees, we got rabbit and pork. They were both really good. We don't normally go to French restaurants but we really liked it here. Overall, a really nice BYOB restaurant! Recommended! read more

Excellent BYOB in Conshy! You are missing out if you have not been here before. We passed the cafe upon moving to the area and we're delighted to have dinner on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was relaxed yet sophisticated and reminded my husband and I of our honeymoon in France. The service was also wonderful and the food was amazing--a good selection of classic French dishes prepared with love and attention to detail. We will return!! read more

We were a party of 8 which was perfect because inevitably everyone ordered something different. The foodie of the table had a hard time declaring if the venison, lamb, file mignon, scallops, or hen was the best - I think in the end the lamb & scallops tied. We also had a seasoned hunter in the group; & he said the venison was the best he had ever tasted. My entree was the scallops - I've ordered this from other local restaurants & find the portions small & tuff - scallops at spring mill were melt in your mouth delicious! The desserts were out of this world - I highly recommend the chocolate mousse. I'm writing this review the day after dinner because this morning I was contacted by each couple who said it was the best meal & most memorable we have had. The staff at spring mill is awesome & the food amazing - you cannot go wrong by choosing this place for any meal. read more

Spring Mill Café is truly a hidden gem in boring little Conshohocken. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of a charming little house that welcomes you into what appears to be a rustic dining room with a library full of antique books. My friend Chris and I ordered the Pâté Tasting for our appetizer. This is a plate of three homemade pâtés: shredded pork and duck, chicken liver, and country pâté. I love paté and this plate easily exceeded my expectations. I was in the mood for steak and our server pointed out the difference between the two offerings of filet mignon. "The regular filet is good, but the grass-fed filet is out of this world," she said. I took a chance on it and I'm glad I did. It was ungodly good! You bite into each piece and the most aromatic steak juice in the world fills your mouth. Oh, my God, soooo delicious! This, my friends, was better than Morton's, Smith & Wollensky, Ruth's Chris, and The Palm. It was sex in my mouth. In Conshohocken, no less! Chris had the Rack of Lamb. Normally, I go crazy for lamb, but today the steak was the winner. We were offered a free glass of wine with our meal, which was a nice touch. The only miss was dessert, a huge slice of Daffodil Cake, a light angel food cake with citrus cream, toasted coconut, and freshly grated lime. It had way too much cream in it. read more

Perfect!!! Sweet, unpretentious ambiance......super-romantic & delicious!!! Great little date spot.

This is a great alternative for lunch in Conshohocken. It's a little off the beaten path - on Barren Hill Rd. You can eat on the front porch, which is great in good weather. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had a glass of iced tea to start. The cuisine is French inspired - omelets, croque madame, steak frites, salads. I had the smoked salmon, cucumber, and goat cheese sandwich with a side salad. It would have been a nice and light lunch, but I split the tarte tatin with my dining companion. The desserts are all made in house. This tarte used pears instead of apples, but it was served warm with vanilla ice cream - so good! I would definitely come back here for lunch. It's a little more expensive than your typical lunch spot but it's well worth it. read more

This is one of my favorite date night spots, with such a great atmosphere outdoors and friendly service. I mostly recently enjoyed a crab cake appetizer (amazing) followed by a chicken and shrimp dish that was also very tasty. I like that it is a BYO, as it can help offset the cost of the dinner if you're watching your budget. I definitely recommend this place! read more

We tried Spring Mill on a Sunday night, not very many people but it was nice. I had the arugala salad and it's fabulous. I would get that everytime! I had the special which was tile fish. We went to the Spring Mill Cafe for our 25th wedding anniversary. I always wanted to go here but never did, so I was very excited. The waitstaff was very helpful and courteous, and placed our 2nd bottle of wine in their refrigerator, and placed the first on ice, since it was warm. There was no parking left in the lot, so we parked on a side street on the side of the road. We were seated immediately, but my seat was an old wood slat bench that killed my back. We both got the seafood bisque and it was excellent. My husband had the swordfish and he said it was very good. I had the filet mignon. I ordered it medium, but when I cut into it, it was very rare. I ate the pieces I could from around the edges, and it was so tender and tasty. However, I couldn't pin down anyone walking around to tell them about it, so I ate the side dishes, which were very good as well. I took the rest of the meat home to have for lunch the next day. What a waste! The waitress apologized, but I heard from no one else. The desserts were Daffodil Cake, which was excellent, and my bread pudding, which was surprisingly light. Our waitress was the best. I only wish the filet had been cooked properly, especially because it was the main part of the meal, one of their specialties and it was highly priced. I am confused that the chef could not know that the meat was improperly cooked. This a definitely a quality control issue. If not for that, I would have given this restaurant four stars. read more

I commuted to work for two years, passing the Spring Mill Cafe (nestled into Barren Hill Road right before the intersection of Hector St.) and almost daily I kicked myself for not having tried it yet. On my last day of my old job, my boss took me here for a bon voyage lunch. Rejoice! The inside was just as I'd hoped: like someone's cozy house with charmingly creaky wood floors and understated French rustic decor. They had an abbreviated menu for lunch and we both enjoyed the chicken salad, so bottom line, I don't have much variety to report by way of food. But, the ambiance and service was enough that I can't wait to return for a relaxing date night with my love, sharing a bottle of red, enjoying the duck and for once, cozied up inside instead of driving by only wishing that I were. :) read more

My husband and I have eaten dinner here twice. In all honesty there was a service issue the first time that we ate dinner here. Service issues happen, and in my opinion it's how the restaurant deals with that which makes the difference. The owner immediately made us feel better about the situation, we gave the restaurant another try and I'm so happy that we did. We had an exceptional dinner (also the food was very good on the first visit, it was purely a service issue). Our waiter on the second dinner, Nathan, is top notch! In fact, the entire staff was friendly and attentive. One of the women even wrote down some recommended restaurants at the shore, so considerate! The atmosphere is very sweet and comfortable. We will most definitely be back for brunch! Thank you to Spring Mill Cafe! read more

Wonderfully hidden in the back roads of Conshohocken, this French restaurant exudes a very rustic, very country vibe. The menu is equally rich and fresh, served by a bustling staff in brightly rooms. Overall, it warrants return visits, especially during the warmer seasons when the barn property is lively with families and private celebrations. read more

Do you want a healthy, delicious, gourmet meal? Spring Mill Café offers just that. Located away from the commercial hub of Conshohocken, this rustic, French-bistro-style BYO offers a solid restaurant experience. The restaurant is neat and tidy with the coziness of a French farmhouse. The service is excellent. The portions are appropriate. The prices are reasonable - especially since Spring Mill buys their food from local farms/farmers. Credit cards are accepted. Prices range between $24-$30 for entrees. The Pate de Campagne is delicious, but it would be better if it were able to be spread on the baguette. The filet mignon au Bordelaise with potato and celery mash is a great dish. The meat was perfectly prepared and accompanied with a red wine reduction. Don't skip dessert! The cakes are delicious and wonderfully simple. The Montmorency, a flourless chocolate cake, is a chocolate lover's dream, and the orange spice cake is very good. read more

My daughter's bridal shower was held at the Spring Mill Cafe. It was an absolutely lovely, flawless affair. We started with a cocktail hour on the patio outside which was framed by beautiful flowers. The weather was perfect and after the dreary winter, everyone was as to be outdoors. The staff was extremely attentive poring mimosas as guests arrived. We also noshed on cheese trays with not only cheese but honeycomb, nuts and fruit. The indoor space is very quaint and charming. Our group was large enough, 30, to warrant use of the entire restaurant which made it our own private party. There is another building on site where they served lunch to the general public. The guests had choices of 3 starters, 3 main dishes and 2 desserts. Everyone raved about the food especially the potato leek soup, chicken salad, specialty quiche, and cake. The excellent service continued throughout the day. I highly recommend the Spring Mill Cafe as a small party venue. read more

Mixed results. The appetizers were fine, but by and large everything was a little overcooked and under-spiced. Overall, the meal left a great deal to be desired. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good enough to visit again or recommend to friends who I like. read more

I've been here for both brunch and for Easter Sunday supper. Both experiences were wonderful.

This is a cozy little place perfect for a date or a nice meal among adults. I brought my wife here for a nice meal and it exceeded all my expectations.
