Delicious fresh vegetarian food. Many breakfast and lunch choices. I had the Mezze Salad topped with fresh Char, which was amazing. Service took some time but it was worth the wait. My friend had breakfast and said he loved his meal. I'm told the Tuna Melt is their specialty. Next time! They also have coffee and tea drinks and light alcohol. read more

The Blue Warbler - Mezze Salad topped with Char. - Wine Bars Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This is a cute little vegan spot in town, and I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The service came across as pretty rude, and my food came out burnt. We sent it back, but it took forever to get a replacement. Overall, it also felt like the staff was much friendlier toward certain types of customers, which made the experience uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I wouldn't rush back. read more

This coffee shop/cafe/diner/modern restaurant sits on a beautiful corner in Chestnut Hill, with gorgeous light spilling effortlessly into the bar and dining area through the large windows lining the front and side walls. When you walk in, there's a small host stand, the kind of spot where you'd expect to be greeted and seated. It was lunch time so I don't mind standing and waiting or a seat yourself situation because maybe the daytime fit is more casual, but it was very unclear what the expectation was which made the first impression very meh. The mix of people coming in for takeaway coffee versus sit-down dining created confusion and bottlenecking with the flow. People were walking in and ordering, then standing wherever, behind us, some walking past us directly to the counter, some stopping in front of us, none being acknowledged. We were all kind of like fish swimming in all directions. It was weird. The empty floor space and table with merch in front of the Germantown Rd windows could be better utilized to create intentional waiting/lounging/ gathering areas. Service, once we were seated, was thoughtful and unhurried. Food at first glance looked standard but after taking a bite it was clear that the menu is both approachable and chef-driven. There is real care being put into their dishes. Note: cocktails were not available despite being given drink menus. An overall pretty good experience. I want to love this place, especially since the neighborhood has a real gap when it comes to consistent operational hours & delicious food. For now, I'm in like with Blue Warbler. They're new, and growing pains are to be expected. Craveability 10/10 - I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The Blue Warbler is a Chestnut Hill treasure. No notes. A friend and I had a reservation for 6:30 PM. Right off the bat, the host was so friendly and said he could seat me even though my friend hadn't arrived yet. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a clean and modern layout. Just stunning. Major shout out to our waitress Iyana who did not once steer us wrong!! She's legit a Zendaya doppelgänger and took excellent care of us the whole night. Ask for Iyana when you visit! You won't regret it. Babaganoush - 10/10 Smokey, creamy flavors and warm pita to dip. I convinced the table next to us to order it because it was THAT good. Pastorius sandwich - 10/10 Iyana said this sandwich was a mouthful and she wasn't kidding. I cut it in half so I could enjoy it. The thick, crispy fried tofu really makes it seem like you're eating a chicken sandwich. Perfection. Hand-cut fries - 10/10 Yes, they're regular fries, but the warbler sauce?! Are you joshing me? The sauce had hints of paprika. Absolutely delicious. I was scooping up some Babaganoush with the fries, too. No shame. Pear Martini - 10/10 Again, Iyana warned us this would be an amazing cocktail. She wasn't wrong (surprise, surprise). As she stated, pears don't get enough recognition and they are such a refreshing fruit for the summer. I loved this as my beverage choice! Maple soft serve - 10/10 Admittedly I wasn't in the mood for ice cream but Iyana said we must give it a try. The maple and caramel combo with sea salt sprinkled on top blended seamlessly together. A flavor explosion in your mouth. I will be coming back many, many times for dinner and most certainly for brunch in the near future. Looking forward to several incredible meals here! read more

The ambiance is welcoming. The decor is well crafted and elegant. I sat at the bar, and the service was good. Now, about the food! It was absolutely delicious. I had the babaganoush. The grilled pita was the icing on the cake. Finger licking good. Next I had the meatloaf. All vegan and all delicious. Highly recommend this place. Definitely my new favorite restaurant. Oh, you must try the pear martini. read more

The atmosphere was lovely and quiet at 10:00 AM. Went with 3 others to celebrate a birthday. It was my first breakfast visit. Our server was a bit slow in taking our order which was surprising given how few tables were occupied. The tofu scramble wasn't scrambled; it was chopped in little squares and the only obvious taste/color was tumeric. Bland. Potatoes were ok, could have been more crispy outside. The other person who ordered it thought the same thing. I love the restaurant and am so glad it's here which is why I'm writing the review! read more

Fabulous! First visit last night; will definitely return. Every bite was a delicious surprise of robust and layered flavors, from mezze dishes to dessert. The service was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Amani was our server and I hope she will be there the next time I go. An additional bonus: the menu is packed with dishes for the "non-generic" diner! I'm a generic diner, but my friend is lactose intolerant, gluten free, and doesn't eat pork or beef. Even she had multiple choices to pick from. I also want to commend the designer who did the floor plan. It was customer focused and created an array of seating options. Kudos! The room was a little noisy, but hey -that's because it was busy ! Let's keep this place in business for a long time! read more

We got to The Blue Warbler, surprised by the sophisticated charm of the place. BTW, better to park on Willow Grove rather than Germantown with its meters. The restaurant quickly filled with customers- obviously the word is out in Chestnut Hill. The bar is attractive and there's a festive air that's evident throughout. Husband ordered a pear martini and I got a rhubarb something spritz with mint. Happily we swapped. The spritz missed having the clean taste I expected. The pear martini was terrific. The cuisine is pescatarian/Mediterranean/vegetarian, not my spouses's favorite. I, along with our attentive server, talked him into the meatloaf. Very well seasoned, the "meatloaf" was tasty and a very generous serving. Accompanied by delicious lightly grilled green beans and thinly sliced nicely cooked French fries. The ketchup beneath the meatloaf was nicely spiced. The pink tinged "house" sauce, in a small metal cup, was fine, indeed. My tuna melt sandwich, in comparison, looked chintzy. One half was perched atop the other. The cheddar cheese looked a tad pasty, but it was okay. The rye bread was well toasted. But the tuna salad, too minced for my taste, was way too salty. I had a few more bites but succumbed to my good judgement. There were some terrific pickled carrots arrayed in another small metal cup, all perched on a smallish metal plate. It would have benefited from a better display; nonetheless the taste was seriously off-putting. When the server came by to pick up the plates, I told her that the sandwich was way too salty and that she should relay this to the cook. She said that feedback was important. She asked if I wanted to take the tuna home. I said no, it was inedible. I was surprised that the tuna melt wasn't removed from the bill. But guess that's part of the growing pains. It might add to the take if a few desserts were added. BTW, the toasted pita bread that was a part of many appetizers or can be ordered as a one of the sides, was delivered in a crinkled brown bag. Looks of satisfaction seemed ubiquitous among those to whom it was delivered. I was taken aback when my spouse commented when we were leaving that he would happily return. Wow! read more

Unfortunately I can't find one thing that stands out about this place buuuttttt it has POTENTIAL (hence 2 stars). Location & vibe are there. That said, I've been there twice and each time service was discombobulated and it was clear there was a major lack of communication front of house. Additionally the happy hour menu is majorly lacking. The presentation and quality of the cocktails does NOT match the price. Skilled bartenders can make or break a dining experience and in this case it's a bigggg let down. read more

Unfortunately, it was very disapointing. This was my first visit and I had high hopes. The decor was nice, but the service was bad. The servers were nice but apparently new to the business. I was there for breakfast and when I walked in there were 3 tables and 3 servers so I expected a quick in and out. I ordered the simplest items - pancakes plain with 2 eggs over easy. I it took over 20 minutes for the pancakes then I had to wait another 4 minutes for the eggs. The over easy eggs had 2 broken yolks when they were brought to the table. At any other restaurant this order would be on table in 5-10 minutes in a busy restaurant. I am guessing this is the cooks first job. The owner was walking around and never stopped by to ask how everything was going. Yes it is not a requirement, but when it is slow at a new restaurant this makes the wait for food less annoying. He should have been in the kitchen looking to see why food is slow coming out. I am sitting at the table writing this with a dirty empty plate and no one offered to clear it from the table. They did stop by ask if I needed any more coffee and the check, but never took the plate. In addition, I no tables have salt and pepper on them and when I requested them they brought out a pepper mill and a small dish of salt?? Syrup also came out cold. If they are still here in a year I may give it a try. read more

Unreal brunch! Will be coming back for more! Thrilled to have a place like this in CH.

Lovely decor, clean. Decent tasty food. Toast was a bit burnt. Yogurt with caramelized banana was tasty. Service could be improved. More welcoming vibe with a smile and attention from servers would've made our experience better. read more

Best meal in Chestnut Hill - amazing flavors and experience. Great new addition to the area.

Outstanding food and service!! My in-laws have been raving about this restaurant, so we've been dying to try it and made it our first dinner while in town. We're from San Francisco, and the quality and creativity of the food reminded us of some of our favorite restaurants back home. Everything we had was delicious, but the dates, eggplant, and yellowtail skewer were definite standouts. The ambiance is also beautiful and made the whole experience even better. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back! read more

I have now been to The Blue Warbler three time-- for a coffee and snack, for lunch and dor dinner, and I have to say that it's the best restaurant in the Germantown/Mount Airy/Chestnut Hill area. The food is inventive and VERY well prepared. For lunch, I had their tuna melt (with potato chips inside) and also a really nice on-tap Kumbacha. Note that I arrived well before my friend, but they let me sit down and wait (although the place was hopping!). Dinner, we started with their humus and labneh (made even better by toppings) and homemade pita bread, and then shared the branzino. All were beautifully presented and prepared. Next time, I'll head out back for their Happy Hour. I'm told they have a garden.! read more

VERY impressed with our dinner last night! The branzino was cooked perfectly - one of the best I've ever had - and the eggplant schnitzel was delicious - what a creative dish! The additions of saffron-infused basmati and petite salads perfectly complemented our main courses. We also loved the "trio" appetizer - labneh, hummus and babaganoush. Very authentic and delicious! We are admitted foodies who are always on the lookout for exceptional food. The Blue Warbler definitely exceeded our expectations! Looking forward to trying breakfast and lunch, and returning to try the other dinner entrees. And thank you to our waitress, Kate, for taking such good care of us! read more

Delicious and creative food in a lovely setting. The specials were great and made w seasonal ingredients too.

We came in during their "soft opening" week and just wow. Each dish was the better than the last and they all worked incredibly well with each other. Our server was fantastic and steered us in the right direction with our order and she nailed it! The tuna skewers and squash skewers...a heavenly combo! The restaurant is beautiful, staff is amazing and music tops it off! The Blue Warbler is a GREAT addition to CH! Can't wait for more! read more

Great coffee and brunch. Congratulations on the opening. We had cappuccino with house made banana syrup, which was amazing. The food was great too. Can't wait to come back and check out the cocktails. read more

First and foremost they're expensive. I understand that they just opened and need to recoup their investment, but the prices are even high for Chestnut Hill. Very comparable to Adelinas pricing, of which I won't go to due to the huge bill at the end. And you're not in Center City. The food portions are small, but it's definitely the highlight of the experience. This chef is good and I hope they stay. But, the general flow of the delivery is off. Atm, the restaurant could use a manager and/or a few food runners to manage the flow on the weekends. This would lift the experience of getting that delicious food to your table and improve the VERY long wait times to get it. The staff and owners are very nice folks, and the restaurant is pristine with a great back bar area (and brilliant art work). The Mediterranean edge is great, but a little hard to swallow at those prices (I still don't know how $52 for a bottle of wine (lowest price) and cocktails at close to $20 became the norm for dining out. But alas, we live in hard times. I am thankful that Chestnut Hill has a new restaurant in the end, but this will have to be one of those "once a year" type jawns. read more
