I wouldn't say anything is particularly special, but nothing we've tried is terribly disappointing either. The menu titles towards guilty pleasure-type food, like Shrimp & Grits or Chicken & Waffles. Plates are large and busy and crowd-pleasing. If you order a salad here, make sure to ask that it be lightly dressed. Came here last month for brunch with my family and we were very happy with our meals. Came back the next day for restaurant week and loved the entrees. Service was great and the interior design was very nice and welcoming. Definitely get the garlic honey salmon because I still think about it and how delicious it was. I have taken a star off because the last two times I've come (mid September and end of November), there has been no one to greet me at the host stand and everyone else just walks around. I think it's taken about 5 minutes before someone comes. They need to work on that. Food has been great, aside from the apple pie French toast. I was expecting better bread, like a brioche, but it was basic bread and therefore did not hit as I thought it would. Also, I love my burgers well done and didn't think I would have to ask for a smash burger to be prepared as such. It was too much pink on the inside for me & the taste, to me, was not pleasant at all . The ambiance is immaculate. Every time, I am always taking pictures of the interior. This was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. We went during restaurant week but apparently they decided to open their upstairs on the same week as restaurant week. The staff was all overworked, and as a result we weren't seen by our waiter for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, other tables were seated and were able to leave before we even received our food. We were served Diet Coke with no ice that was flat, and our chicken was so dry and flavorless; not to mention, we had to request drink menus and utensils since no one thought to drop them off for us. The decor is super cute, and that's where Blondie's appeal ended for me. The restaurant was crowded and had no AC on and was at an uncomfortable temperature the entire time we were there sitting. Servers were visibly sweating, so I can only imagine the cooks in the back giving the food some extra seasoning with theirs. The food was incredibly mid level, basic and under seasoned. The drinks were nothing exciting either. The Far East Margarita tasted like cough syrup.I had the deviled eggs as an appetizer and I've never tasted a boiled egg before with this almost fake/rubber texture. Immediate turn off. Then, it's described on the menu as having a chili garlic crunch, but everything on that egg was mush. Then after all this, they dropped this Betty Crocker brownie in front of me. I've never been more confused in my life. I ordered the "Blondie After Dark" dessert, described on the menu as a layered chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate cookie crumble. We came here for our friends surprise bday party and it was fun! The interior was gorgeous and we got a nice sized table along the wall on the far side of the bar for 9 people. We started with drinks and I loved the seasonal white cosmo drink! Then we got a bunch of appetizers to share - my favs were the crab dip and the brussel sprouts. For our entree, me and my friend split the shrimp Caesar salad - they were so nice to even bring us our own portions on our own plates and they were good size for a half portion and it was delicious! My friends and I tried this place after a busy day of fall festivities! The restaurant had plenty of seating and we were served almost immediately compared to nearby restaurants. We were also in a hurry to grab a bite and then head out. The menu looked like elevated classics. The price to food quality seemed mismatched. The food was way over priced for what you got. I ordered the burger wrapped in lettuce. And it was simply just that. They did not have gluten free bread alternatives. Ambiance was nice. Decor and cleanliness were top qualities. I left this restaurant feeling incredibly disappointed. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful, and our waitress was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and the highlight of the entire experience. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The food was terrible. Not only did it lack flavor, but the presentation was also very poor. The dishes looked carelessly prepared, and nothing about the meal matched the quality you would expect from such a beautiful restaurant. It's frustrating when a place creates such a great first impression with its ambiance but completely misses the mark where it matters most. I wanted to enjoy this experience, but I left unhappy and feeling like my time and money had been wasted. The excellent service deserved much better food to serve. I had Saturday Brunch here about a month ago, March 22, 2025 and here are my thoughts. Walking up to Blondie I saw the long line at the door. Things moved pretty quickly though. Many people were gathered and the mood was festive. After checking in, I was the first of my party to arrive so I took a spot at the bar and ordered a drink. The restaurant is cute. Multi level, multiple seating options, and chic decor, however, things took a downward turn for me from there. My party was seated on the third level. This "room" is reserved for private parties. Problem is, and I've encountered this before, it's was just a large empty room that exhibited absolutely none of the character and charm of the restaurant below. Half of the appeal of your dining out experience is ambiance. At this point in my life, I would only book a "private" room if it were truly something special. Otherwise I'd go somewhere else. And...as for "private" not at all. There were three parties up there. I was celebrating a birthday with a large group. There were 22 of us so with that said, I definitely have a big curve for error. But we were fully seated until around 2:45 pm and were not served food until 4:30pm. At this point I'd had more to drink than food, including the mimosa tower. It's volume and price tag is impressive but the scientific like beaker on steroids was less than classy. Almost every food item on the menu was represented at my table. I had the crab omelette. Lackluster, it needed a sauce. I had some of the Parmesan Chicken wings and those I would have again. Went for the first time to Blondie and was completely underwhelmed. The staff seemed like they were overwhelmed. The food was typical bar food but way overpriced. I got the mushroom tortellini which was suspiciously similar to what I get at my grocery store. It was served with a very bland mushroom cream sauce that could have used more effort. My wife got the enchiladas which were ok, but not worth the money. My kids had the salmon with rice, both completely lacking any kind of flavor. The salmon was overcooked and dry, with a burnt bottom. It seemed like someone tried to make a nice crust then just forgot to remove it from the pan. I have to say, the appetizers were the best part. The website looked great, and Sunday brunch feels like something that's honestly hard to mess up -- so maybe that's part of why it was so disappointing. It was kind of a disaster. My friends and I made a reservation on a Saturday night for dinner and when we arrived we were a bit early so the owner offered us champagne which was very nice of them. The interior is super cute and modern and there's a bunch of open seating and two bar areas from what I remember seeing. The service was also very quick and attentive. Our server Shawn did a good job of recommending some dishes as well as getting everything to us in a timely and friendly manner. The food was alright. The crab dip had a lot of meat and the Brussels sprouts were well seasoned and crispy. I personally could not eat my tacos. They were very salty and not my favorite but overall everything was good I think I just picked a bad dish and would be willing to go back and try other entrees instead. Blondie atmosphere and service were phenomenal. Just 4 of us came in with a reservation at 7pm and were sat right away. All the cocktails were super good. I liked the Mariposa the best. We got the summer guac and salsa for apps which were really fresh and yummy. For mains the table ordered the burger (which ended up being well done not medium rare), the steak frites which was more medium rare than medium, the shrimp and crab pasta, and the chicken skewers. Everything was super tasty and came out in a timely fashion. It was a friends birthday so we ordered the tres leches cake for her and they brought it with a candle and a round of champagne on them which was a sweet touch. I took a friend here for her birthday last Saturday for brunch. She made reservations for us because that area is usually busy on the weekends. Service was prompt until it came time for our food to come out. No kidding, we literally waited 45 mins for French toast, eggs, bacon and an omelette. She apologized and said they got hit and were backed up in the kitchen but I looked around and most of the tables were empty. Went for brunch. Restaurant was half full. We were seated at 11am and ordered drinks. My companion ordered an Irish coffee. When it came it was a cup of luke warm coffee with the Irish whiskey on the side. She had to make the drink herself. When we asked the waiter why, he said it was because the coffee is in one area and the liquor in another- um what? We ordered our food around 11:15. Then we asked for a top up on our coffees. We were told that wasn't possible but the waiter could bring us a whole new cup of coffee. Turns out this wasn't true. Other tables just got refills from a carafe. It took until past noon to get our food, despite the fact that the table next to us sat after us and was already eating. When my food came out the eggs were ice cold. One of my companions ordered a salmon sandwich that said it came with aioli and avocado but neither appeared on her sandwich. When I sent my eggs back, we asked about the avocado and were told they were out- could they have let us know? And the aioli? Well the waiter said most people asked for it on the side and my friend hadn't so he assumed she didn't want it. At this point I asked for the manager. I explained everything and he agreed this was not ok. I got my eggs finally. The manager topped off our coffees from the carafe and wouldn't you know it-ice cold. Eventually we gave up on having a decent meal and asked for the check. The manager did comp us all the food so our bill was just the drinks. We paid with cash. The table next to us was also paying with a card at the same time. The waiter managed to bring them their check for signature but still no change for us. It took many more minutes. Along the way, servers stood around looking at their phones. One server leaning against the wall managed to turn out all the lights in the restaurant. This was a comedy of errors. Based on previous reviews, it is their normal modus operandi, despite the manager telling me otherwise. My advice-don't go. If the owners cared at all they would re-train everyone who works there. read more

While there are a lot of brunch restaurants in the Main Street of Manayunk, this one in particular really stands out. The place has a lot of seating both indoor and outdoor. It also has a very impressive brunch list menu. The place is popular for their coffee buckets. I tried one out but to be honest, I feel like it is just a novelty I would never get again. It is definitely entirely way too much coffee for one person to undertake alone. It also sucks that these buckets can't be split because of the fixings associated with the beverages. These buckets are quite creative. They had a pumpkin type coffee that was put in a jack-o-lantern face bucket. The banana bread bucket we got had a cold coffee brew with foam and banana chips. Between two people, we couldn't even finish half this bucket. We also had to share it with a straw which was kind of annoying. For the entree, I ended up getting a crab omelette. I really liked the lumps of crab with the omelette. I also liked the arugula salad with its delicious dressing. The home fries were really crispy which made it a nice treat. Five of us went on a Monday night and there were maybe 5 other tables filled in the whole restaurant (bad sign). It's HUGE inside. I don't understand how they can afford their rent... Our server seemed new or just incredible distracted. Our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. Our appetizers came another 15 minutes after that. Our entrees another 40 minutes after that, which they brought out an incorrect entree. He mistook tacos from crab cakes? We had to flag a different server down once we were done eating because he never came to check on us. Our drinks and appetizers (the deviled eggs, egg rolls and chicken skewers) were very good but the entrees were underwhelming. Which is very surprising because for dinner there are only like 8 entrees to choose from so you'd assume they are highly curated. Blondie has a great ambiance. The decor makes you feel like it's the perfect aesthetic for special occasions. I went today around 2:00pm for their brunch menu that ends at 4pm on Saturdays. The restaurant is pretty busy so when I entered there was no one to greet you at the door. Another guest was in front of me who had a reservation and was waiting to be seated. Shortly after arriving someone came to seat us. I waited for around 5-10 minutes before asking about who my server was and that's when the person who attended to me noticed I didn't have water and got me a pitcher. Unfortunately the rim of the pitcher was dirty in my opinion. There were obvious stains on it all around the rim but I was told it was the residue of the water because the pitcher was sitting there. To me it was odd and I felt like cleanliness could be better so I told them I didn't want the pitcher so the person who was attending put the water directly into my glass instead of from the pitcher. I waited 5-10 more minutes for my server to finally come to the table to take my order and she brought the dirty pitcher back to my table and I explained to her I didn't want it because of the cleanliness. I also felt like there was a smell coming from the cup as I was drinking the water. I think the fact the cups like the pitchers are also sitting there until it's used by a guests who is seated is the issue. Depending how long in between it's being washed dust etc. probably accumulate. They also have a guest WiFi but when I asked for the password I was told they couldn't provide the password and she would ask her manager about it but the manager never came. Besides the cleanliness and service the food actually came quickly given how busy the restaurant is. I probably got the food within 15-20 minutes which was great. The food was also good! I enjoyed the Salmon B.A.L.T with fries for $23. I think overall the service and cleanliness at Blondie could be better and I hope they try to consider how the culture and service of the restaurant could be more hospitable. read more

Our family ate at Blondie a few weeks ago. The experience was HORRIBLE. That evening my son got really bad food poisoning. The next day he had to be hospitalized and was there for a week. The doctors said it was a bacteria from the chicken he had at the restaurant. We called the restaurant to alert them and the manager refused to call us back. We tried to reach him numerous times and he stonewalled us. We then called the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and found out the Blondie had numerous health code violations including insects in the kitchen, random food debris and standing water.
