I came with my friend on a Friday night and there plenty of open tables. We decided to sit at a table with a bench. The food came out pretty quick. I had the fried chicken sandwich with truffle Parmesan fries. The fries were cooked to perfection and the highlight of my meal. The chicken had bone pieces in them and the bread was dry. When we were finishing our meal, a group of 6 people walked in and I overheard the waitress assisting them say "that table is about to close out and you can sit there if you'd like" and gestured to our table. Again, the place was empty and I felt uncomfortable at this point because now we had six people waiting for us to wrap up. Love this place! I live in the neighborhood and try to frequent local establishments as much as I can. But sometimes you get sick of ordering the same stuff week after week. We were sat literally in the middle of a sectioned off birthday party, it was only after getting our food that we realized hey this is someone's CELEBRATION and everyone in the party is wondering who the heck we are. The signage outside said it was Taco Tuesday and I got excited. The tacos were $3 a piece. I order 4 fish tacos and my friend had the short rib tacos. The fish tacos were solid and my friend raved about the short rib tacos. The waitress was very attentive considering she was handling all of tree tables. One night recently, my husband brought me here begrudgingly. I say that because of "brew" being in the name and I don't like going to places where beer is the main focus. Then when we walked in and sat down (no hostess stand), the server seemed put out that we sat at a 4 top (since only 2 of us). She stated if a larger group came in she would have to move us to a smaller table but that we could sit there for now. Uh ooookay, that didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. We went ahead and moved to a smaller table we hadn't seen initially and avoid being moved. But things looked up from there. My husband ordered a bottle of wine (half off on Wed) and I ordered a really yummy hibiscus cocktail. We split the fried green tomatoes (stuffed with goat cheese), roasted garlic cauliflower, and shrimp and grits. I also redeemed a yelp check in offer for a free glass of champagne with app purchase. We loved the apps and were mixed on the grits. Flavors were good but the grits were very runny/thin. I was confused at first but the provided spoons were very necessary. That said, I would still order again. I checked out the brunch menu which looked good too. The $5 brunch drinks are a draw from me too! I was born and raised in Philly and moved away 15 years ago. This was one of my return trips and wanted to take in the sights and see how things have changed. This was a pleasant surprise. The location is very convenient and there was plenty of seating both inside and outside. The staff was very pleasant and personable. We started with the tacos and margaritas which were very good. I met some very friendly people at the bar and it was a very diverse crowd which I really enjoyed. If you are ever in the area you must stop in for a drink and a quick bite. If you like drinks with a little spice I highly recommend the Sauls Inferno. OMG this was the best tasting margarita that I've ever had. I was speaking with the owner Mino and she explained the process they go through with every specialty drink and food item. Mino really cares about what they serve and it really comes through. So my daughter and her boyfriend are googah over this establishment and guess what? So am I. They introduced me to it and now I can't wait to return. First we started with the addicting truffle fries , with Parmesan cheese. I then ordered the eggplant rollatini w a side of linguini. How can just simple linguini taste that good? Musta been because it was al dente? I don't know. The eggplant was all cheesy and magnificent. My daughter had a pear flatbread, which was tasty because I love sweet and savory. Really fell in love with this spot, in the up and coming neighborhood of Brewerytown. You can already see that this is going to be staple in the neighborhood for years to come. It gives off such a hip and trendy vibe, it is very comfortable, great wait staff, and just fun atmosphere. We went there for brunch, and it was top notch. Their menu is huge, with a lot of traditional plate options but also a fair share of creative. I would say it is a blend of southern and modern dishes. I had gotten the breakfast burrito, and was really impressed with the combination of flavors - it was delicious. Also, the portions for all of the plates we had were extremely generous. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a shot and overall, we enjoyed our food. For dinner, we decided to get the Thai Noodles and the burger. My Thai noodle dish overall was pretty lackluster; the noodles were pretty tasty; they had a nice, flavorful kick and citrusy finish. However, I was pretty disappointed in the chicken; it was absolutely BLAND (I'm talking ZERO seasoning whatsoever). The $4 up-charge wasn't justified. My status as "regular" here soon come! 2637 is the cutest little bar nestled between 26th & 27th on Girard in Brewerytown. I went for the first time last night around 9pm & it was PACKED. We stood at the bar for a bit combing threw their tap list while waiting for a seat to open up. Let me tell you, the ladies here are on top of evvvverything. You don't have to worry about fighting for a seat when one opens up at the bar because they have a system of keeping track of whos next to be seated. Loved that. Hair in food and rude manager, do not eat here!!!!. Before covid, this was a great place; besides the fact that I have seen a dog behind the bar once, it was a good place. I went today and will never return. A friend and I went, sat by the door, and ordered two drinks and food. An employee came in (who turned out to be the manager named Ashley) and propped open the door without asking if we were cold or not. It is a gloomy day in Philly, with a bit of wind, and the temp is 55. We both looked puzzled but ignored it. A few moments later, another employee came and closed the door and said, "She is trying to freeze yall" jokingly; we laughed and continued our conversation. The food arrived, and I took a bite of the blackened chicken alfredo, which was great, and then noticed a hair in my food. I waved down an employee and quietly told them there was a hair in the food. The employee apologized, took the plate, and brought another dish later. We decided to order round 2 of drinks and continued to enjoy our day. Ashely came by and asked if we needed anything else, and we thought about ordering round 3 but said no and asked for the check. The check comes, and I glance at it and give Ashely my card to close out. She returned with the receipt to sign, and I noticed that we were charged for five drinks instead of 4. I told Ashely we only had 4, and she insisted we have 5. My friend and I looked at each other, replayed our drinks in our heads, and said no, we had four drinks, two each. She then goes and talks to the bartender comes back, and continues to state that we had five drinks. After trying to explain to her that that was incorrect, she rudely says she will take it off and storms off. I asked for the manager, and she turned around and yelled, "I am the manager," and continued to walk off. So I went to the bar to speak with Ashely, and she continued to tell me that we had five drinks because there were five glasses behind the bar. I tried to explain to her that we only had four, but she clearly had an attitude and made it seem like we were lying. At this point, other customers are listening to the interaction, which is embarrassing because I have no reason to lie about one drink. Ashley refunded the original receipt and removed the extra drink but insisted we had five drinks. The new bill was 98 dollars, and I left an 18 dollar tip. No customer should be called a liar in front of other customers for a mistake the restaurant made. I will never return, and I hope they teach Ashely how to be a manager with customer service. read more

We went here for a farewell dinner for our neighbors who are moving to Pittsburgh this month ( :( !!!) and we wanted to try out a new spot in the neighborhood. we went here on a Monday evening so it was a little slow but surprisingly warm for November so they had the front window open and it was rather quiet even though we were sitting right on Girard! I got an arugula salad which was fine, my husband got the brisket grilled cheese which was good but not super cheesy, and the couple that we went with got the thai noodles which they went home with half of (huge portion!) and a flatbread which was good, he mentioned. We each tried a different beer on tap which were all good and a very wide selection for only having about 15 on tap. we might try here again, we might not but overall it's a good addition to the girard business corridor. read more

Review update! I've been eating here for over a year now and I have to admit it's one of my favorite places to eat in the neighborhood. There are so many options and I'm never disappointed! The bar and restaurant is nice. I walked in and it was rainy out but the place had a very good amount of people. It's in its grand opening week and they have their stuff together. My bartender was Lynn. So nice. I had the shrimp and grits and pho. I ordered the watermelon gose to go with my food. Lynn, poured my beer and then a glass of water. That watermelon gose was good. Slight tart in flavor. The pho broth was fatty and aromatic. Took a sip of the broth and it was good. The soup came with beef steak, scallion, cilantro and side condiments of jalapeno, cilantro, lime ans sriachi and housing sauce. The flavor of everything was great. The noodle was a little undercooked on the adenti side. Lol. But over all the soup tasted like Asian homemade soup. It was on the smaller side for a $10 bowl. The shrimp and grits, this dish had spunk. The shrimps were fresh. Grilled perfectly. The grits were different. It had onions, tomatoes and other spices. I was not able to taste any cheese in the grits. Lol. (I am use to cheese and grits flavor). This combination of ingredients did have a kick to it. Very good. My next drink is the Allagash. This had a lighter taste. Frothy cold beer. It was good. I did meet other patrons sitting at the bar and asked about what they ate and drank. Lobster Mac and cheese. They said "it was good but the noodle was a little under cooked." But the wings here are very good. Pros: This place is open late. A kitchen that cooks decent food. I've frequented this place since their start, I heard bad things from other but never experienced it myself. Until yesterday. I went and decided to treat a few friends so they could come and experience it. I was so embarrassed by the service. First our waitress wasn't attentive at all or helpful with ordering suggestions and the place was basically empty so there was no reason to not check on us, (short Asian girl long dark hair with speech impediment) she barely checked on us. I had to flag down a different employee to tap her just to get my bill, and if she'd been checking on us she'd know my friend didn't like her drink, it was untouched beyond the initial half a sip to taste. She told us she wasn't taking it off of the bill. I asked why and said I never in life heard of that, being a bartender/waitress myself for 10 years & my friend a waitress as well! So I said ok i never heard of that but I'll pay for it it's no big deal but instead she goes and smirks to the bartender who made it (long dark hair, pregnant) about our exchange & then the bartender comes over and asks the issue, I told her We assumed it would be sweet and not as tart being as tho it has maple syrup and is apple flavored (smashing apple- ask someone else to make it not the pregnant girl) she comes over with an attitude firstly and basically says we don't take items off because "you don't like them" but I shut that down quickly and dismissed her politely, I already said I'd pay now you're just adding insult to injury. Even tho I previously had the Thai noodles and they smelled literally like baby shit and I sent them back and ordered something else and it was removed off of my bill, so I guess it depends on who your ordering from or talking too either way it's bad service and I think my time has come to an end at 2637 brew, they could have offered another drink or been a little more empathetic or accommodating. Just sucks cuz i did like the place but I also posted to my IG and about 15 other ppl DM'd me horror stories as well. This place has a decent brunch menu but they seem to get every other meal I've ordered wrong. I've been here several times when the food wasn't great. The nachos are disgusting... Another time the mac and cheese was horrible, super greasy and just made my stomach hurt the rest of the night. Again, I didn't think it was possible to not like macaroni and cheese. It wasn't edible and they tried to pass it off like it was meant to be black and charred, but I told them I had had it before and it wasn't black. This is the prefect quaint chill but get a good meal and drink spot. I was mad that I couldn't stay and enjoy it a bit longer but def plan on returning. This place is AWESOME! The have great beers, great food and great staff! The Calamari is delicious and served with a unique chipotle-ranch-style sauce. Very good! I love a bar that has rotating taps! This place has some local craft pours, but also has a nice arrangement of West Coast breweries. Also, the bartenders are very knowledgeable.
